Yes he can and I think now, you don't have to apply for a separate work permit unlike before. He should check if this is true. Though the limit for the work permit is 20 hours per week in school session and no limits during holidays.

Besides, if he is middle-aged (at most 35), why not go for the Canada PR Express Entry program instead? He should be able to get above the minimum points (67 out of 100) and will just need to read and get above 8 band for IELTS which he can surely prepare for and make.

I would've said two but the problem here is that you haven't gotten the M.Sc. before even talking about Study permit, so you can't classify that as an option. And 5 million will not get you that unless you have a scholarship with it.

If the 5m is all you're banking on, no extra money, no credentials, baba get the job before someone takes it away.

In my own opinion,take the federal job and you can plan on relocating your family abroad later on that if you have one or when you start having one coz life sometimes is not always greener on the other side and with federal job you can always go for vacation abroad…#shalom

Normally someone like me will choose high paying federal job cos I’m all about money. And when it’s time to get married, I’ll relocate to Canada asap and start new life, if not for anything , then it’s for my unborn kids.. and by then self, I go don gather enough .


Your 5m is not really really something you can relax on for this country o. And if you one do business with it , abeg and abeg make research for a YEAR before you dabble into it and put your money .

Canada is becoming the most immigration friendly first world country. However, you have to come in through one of the numerous legal routes to enjoy the opportunities it offers. It will be difficult initially settling in but you are gonna have prosperous future for yourself and kids.

I would suggest you move to the UK for your masters cause it’s easier and quicker after which you can migrate to Canada through express entry.
Applying for MSc to Canada can be frustrating and time wasting especially if you don’t get the visa. 6 months gone while you could be in the Uk already half way through. A lot of people who migrated to Canada over the years did their masters in the Uk.
Lastly you can easily get double your 5mil after you are settled if you still wanna do business in Nigeria. You won’t be afraid to fail anymore cause you have backup.

As an int'l student he needs proof of funds for at least a year before he can get a study permit.
