Wrong assertion! Atiku got it right. The south south has got more advantage over the south East due to insecurity, population and others. Wike that can cost Atiku lots of votes in the North.

The only president ever from the southsouth, Goodluck Jonathan, was betrayed by Abubakar Atiku in 2013 when Atiku led most of Northern Nigeria PDP big men and women away from PDP to form APC, in Atiku's unending schemes for power to his north.

See the way you put it as if those regions has no igbos there. You forgot that Igbos compete with indigenous habitant in all regions. Just keep calculating it that way when even Peter has not chosen a vice yet. The permutation favour him the more. vice coming from the north. Obi i stand.
splashbaby:
He calculated properly... Since Igbos with their scanty vote will likely vote Obi, no point picking a South Eastern Governor. South South are divided, and will be the battle ground, a serving governor will do him a great favour. Atiku stand a great chance with the South South since they have a bigger voting block compared to the South East. Let's look at the figures of 2019.

These are registered voters so far(People wey get PVC)
South-South has 12,841,279 registered voters
North-Central has 13,366,070 registered voters
South-East has 10,057,130 registered voters
South-West 16,292,212 registered voters.
North-West has 20,158,100 registered voters
North-East has 11,289, 293 registered voters.

Five other regions apart from the South East that has aligned with OBI are up for grab. The real battle ground will be the South West and North West with the APCs. Depending on who emerged as Tinubu's running mate the likely winners will depend on the northern votes.

Tinubu needs a Northern candidates that will outwit Abubakar. But I just pray Tinubu won't be disqualified by constitutional breach by not meeting the deadlines of submitting his running mate's name... PDP can explore this lapses right now, by going to court.

Southeasterners and wrong analysis of political myths and reasoning are 5 and 6. Yet dem no wan learn. Enroll in the BAT AND ATIKU-LATE political university. Even OBI went to Egypt to learn... One never stopped learning or studying.

They are insignificant right now, you can't out-vote the interest of indegenous people unless you are much loved by them and they give you their supports...which can never be the case with the Igbos right now unless something unusual happens.

Why do you think Igbos can't become governors outside their states? Even in Porthacourt where they have influences on the Ikweres cultural. The reality on ground is what many Igbos don't believe and refused to understand, no be by mouth na, you can't over estimate yourself in another man's state, no matter the PVc you collect you can't swerve the votes in other states significantly if they don't align with your political ideology which I doubt because of the Biafra suspicion with the OBI movement which is easy to see and read among the Igbos.... Indegenous people's population pass una no matter how many of you living there.

If u understand politics, u will know that okowa was the best candidate at this point because
1. Pdp only need the north and south south to clinch the victory

2.okowas humility is undisputable

3.pdp already has a hold of almost all the south eastern states

4. Governor wike remains committed to his party with or without the position of the vp

He will every thing possible to deliver votes for him.

Just imagine the talk "he needs tinubu to displace PDP in Delta state". Really? Edo didn't teach you people any lessons that SS people don't like people playing God?

This reason alone, is why tinubu will lose this election. Watch this space cheesy grin

Igbos vote are insignificant in all the region you find them. They can't out vote the Yorubas and other people in any state in the West like wise the Hausas in the North except if they share the same political interests which is not right now. It might change, but not in the nearest future. Igbos have been going about this OBI thing with tribal sentiment and suspicion, especially insulting and bullying other tribes that didn't follow their line of interest...which has made many to tag it as a Biafra struggle.

What will undo the Igbos is when the real campaign begin and they get drown by other interests superior to their line of thinking. Igbos are campaigning now before campaign which give room for manipulation by the opposition. By region Igbos are the least populated in terms of voters registration and their drive in getting PVC is more in other states which won't count for their region.

EG if Igbos register in Lagos, it count for Lagos and South West and that shore up the numbers of registered voters against the South East. Now these igbo voters cannot make OBI win in Lagos in Idea circumstance because the numbers of indegenous voters and other interest will drown their vote unless if they align politically which will not happen.

Igbos want Kwankwaso as Obi’s running mate, he's from the biggest voting block while Obi is from the weakest. It pays Kwankwaso to have a Yoruba man as a VP which has a huge voting block than to descend and become Obi’s running mate. These are permutations, but OBI will have to struggle to pick any meaningful VP outside Kwankwaso. Once he picks from the North the voting alignment of the west and the North will be cast in Iron. That means Yoruba has only one serious candidate in Tinubu and will vote enmass for him. All other interest doesn't favour the South West except for Tinubu candidature and it will be a landslide victory because Igbos will destroy Atikus potential Igbo voters by going for OBI.

The calculation of 25% in the north hmm! It is unrealistic with Labour party oo. Again who is the running mate of Obi? This matters a lot. A formidable youth from the North will be better to boost Obi's chance.

There is no way Atiku won't get vote from Southern part of the country. He can't get zero vote. There will always be Judas
u make a lot of sense, I sincerely pray obi wins so we can retire all these guys trying to use our time with theirs

Rivers is a strong ground. PDP has lost atleast 5 Million votes across all south south states by this action.

The bulk of the votes that brought Okowa to power was not political popularity but Apathy from major tribes in Delta that said they wanted his side to rule for ethnic balancing which he betrayed on the way out on the state level. And is now betraying on the federal level too

Okowa can never win south east or south south votes over Peter Obi. Never.

It is a case of the stars aligning for Obi to win by confusing the others to make errors. Tinub will make a VP error. As Atiku has done

Atiku just made the greatest political blunder in his political career. Udom Donald Duke are there, he went to pick who is popular as a traitor. You folks don't know how SS hates betrayal. He isn't winning jack. Not even the votes in Delta state

Guy it will shock you, that the massive registration is because of Obi. keep saying Igbo vote are insignificant. Again you think is only the Igbos that want good governance. to you is only Igbos that are campaigning for Obi. You think is only Igbos that will vote for Obi. just keep thinking Igbos awhile others keep thinking for a better Nigeria. the only clear path for VP slot for now is the PDP, neither APC or Labour Party has chosen a permanent VP. before the real campaign starts.

I will quote you again when the real campaign begins. This same youth or cowards that started endSars and abandoned it midway because hoodlums hijack it and government high handedness at Lekki. Can you fight the system peacefully? Never. Beside the endSars saga only happened in the South, not a national phenomenal.

Àbí Biafra agitation seeking relevance through the ballot. Yes there are awareness for a positive change due to the failure of the present government, but OBI is not the Messiah, he will be worst than Buhari if elected and God forbide. We have seen many lies about his performance and my half truth also. Do your research and facts check on him, you will be disappointed.

OBI candidacy is dead on arrival unless there is a merger of political interests across all the other smaller parties to enable him stand a chance to compete with the 2 main parties with bigger structure across the length and breadth of Nigeria. You people are saying people are the structure an not building agreed but these two parties have them all.

Remember OBI was part and parcel of PDP, our number 1 enemy before APC took over from them. He's part of the old men we don't want. We truly need a youth without any ethnic agenda pushing it. This is the main reason Obi will fail.

Game over for PDP?

Governor of Ebonyi State, Engineer David Umahi on Saturday paid a visit to his Rivers State counterpart, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike at his private residence in Port Harcourt.

ThisNigeria reports that Umahi arrived on what he called “a friendly and brotherly” visit at 9pm.

This visit makes it Umahi’s first meeting with Wike after the former dumped the PDP for the APC following an alleged dissatisfaction with the party.

Wike and Umahi both contested the primaries of their respective parties.

However, the Rivers Governor is regarded as a victim of intense “powerplay and gang up” by vociferous forces within his party after he was denied the vice presidential candidacy despite being the party’s favourite.

He had been endorsed by the screening committee of the party but was passed over for Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.

A source had told ThisNigeria that Okowa’s emergence as Atiku’s running mate was influenced by PDP Party Chair, Iyorchia Ayu amid a grand conspiracy by Northern Oligarchs and some ex-military chiefs, who believed that Wike “could not be controlled” if he got the slot

I never for once thought Atiku could win the election. I doubt he has as much appeal in the North as he assumes he does. Hausas see him as very corrupt.

Peter Obi's chances are slimmer than Atiku. He has no base up North. In the Southwest, that is Tinubu's domain, Obi should a good showing here. It is only in the East and Southsouth that he may make a strong showing. From what is going on online, he seems to be eating deeply into Atiku's votes. The fervour that was associated online for Atiku in 2019 seems to have been dumped on Obi.

If he does team up with Kwankwaso, that is if Kwankwaso chooses to be his deputy, he might make great gains up North, especially the Northwest.

Nigerian elections aren't won online as the 2019 elections showed. That is the reality. The most powerful voting block is the North and I see them backing Tinubu the most as he will definitely get Buhari's endorsement. I see Tinubu winning the election next year. Anyway, it is still early days and there may be many tricks up their bags

I am apolitical. I do not even vote. If I was to choose a favorite, it would be Atiku but I am certain he won't get there. My next would be Peter Obi. He too isn't getting there.
