@ Topic 1) I don't like thinking about hell. What's the point of thinking about hell now and there's a 50% chance I'm going there? Why would I want to suffer mentally before the "potential real deal"? I'll rather think about heaven. Yes, I fear hell. Why, because it's a place of eternal damnation. The fact is that there must be punishment, whichever way we choose to think about it and that means there has to be a place for sinners. Heaven is so real people. The Lord that made all things is waiting to receive you reading this to His wondrous kingdom, provided you follow His statutes and obey His commands; this is not possible by human wisdom or power but through Jehovah's grace. The word says that 'He has used the foolish things of this world to bring humility to the wise': we can't use our limited reasoning to attempt figuring out supernatural things. It's impossible. Questns like 'where is hell', why this and that are plain ignorance. Has any1 here ever been outerspace? Do you have any idea how awesome this world is? If you have questns, the only Being that can give you appropriate answers is the King of kings. Talk to Him in prayer. |

@ BABE All you wrote is Bull[i]s[/i]hit. According to the Bible, God knows everything. Or are you saying that the Christian God is not omniscient? What choice am I making if someone already knows it? Did Judas Iscariot have a choice in not betraying Jesus? Didn't God create the Devil? Didn't God create evil? Why would He create evil in the first place? He gave me infinite chance to change, so if I "choose" not to, hell is the ultimate place. Haba. Abeg make una go siddon. Read revelations: there were detailed events of things that would occur. I think it is wise for me to believe that there is hell, as a result ensure that my actions do not take me there. I have nothing to lose if I get to "the other side" and found out there is no hell. They only problem is if I do not believe there's hell and I found out there is one later  |

I do not fear hell. I do not know if it exists. I live my life in such a way that pleases me and my family, close friends, and associates. I try as much as possible to help the less fortunate around me, and I pay my dues to society through tax, and staying out of trouble, obeying all applicable laws in my community. Life's a bitch, and then you die. All good things come to an end, including torture. If I go to a hell, I shall eventually die, as all humans shall. I am content with that. I'm more concerned with the now. |

Just to add quickly people do not need the fear of hell to live moral lives, the fear of hell has not stopped people from doing bad things at all and it never will. . . . |

Ok---I'm not going to answer your questions one by one- But, I hope this answers your nonsense-redundant questions. It didn't say in the bible that God doesn't know everything because GOD didn't write the BIBLE. Yh, the bible is the "word of God" but technically, it's more like "our word of God"---coz it's from our point of view. It's our account of him. I'm not saying the bible is BS o---I'm just saying that it doesn't answer all questions about God. That being said---it was said in the bible that "God regretted." Like I said on that thread, If you know what's gonna happen--why regretting then? It doesn't make sense. GOD CREATED THE WORLD WITH GOOD INTENTIONS IN MIND---before the devil messed it up. Why would he create the world, knowing that there would be a need to kill his ONLY SENSIBLE SON to save it? It doesn't make sense. There's one issue that's still very blurry to me though--the issue of Satan and God before the world was created. I don't really know what transpired between them for real. Why didn't God just destroy Satan after the mis-hap? Only God knows. That being said---- I'm thinking God still liked Satan (as an Angel) upon on all his foolish behaviors. God realized Satan was idle on earth, so he decided to give him a job "stylishly". He included the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden, in the hopes that Adam and Eve will listen to him and not touch it. Providing the tree of knowledge will obviously keep Satan from being jobless. He's gonna have the reason to want to deceive people--- Coz if there was no evil in the first place, satan will be of no use. But then, Adam and Eve messed it up I guess--by not listening to GOD (they had choices)---and the chain reactions followed. Don't get me wrong---some things/occurrences are predestined, but not all things are. There you have it. Any more questions? |

@ BABE I don't like the way you are half-assing quotes from the Bible. Look at the quotes I provided. Those are powerful words. You said that God, the all-knowing most powerful creature had good intentions, but the Devil, whom God created, messed it up. Haba, Babe. Bear with me. Read that aloud: how does it sound? The "createe" messing up the work of the creator. How is that even possible? Maybe I am just too dumb to understand this Bible. And now you are calling it "our own word of God", chei, Babe, you should be a pastor. If it is our own word of God, then I believe a lot of the things in the Bible are wrong! After all, they were written by MEN. Either God knows everything or He doesn't; either way He is screwed because if it is the former, we are just mere pawns satisfying the evil desires of some wicked creator; if it is the latter, then God is not as powerful as the Bible says. Babe, as for me giving up on the earlier thread, I honestly thought there was no point in arguing with you because I came to the conclusion that you are one of the faith people. Maybe I was wrong. But if that is the case, then pursuing the argument any further would be idiotic on both our parts. The only argument that can deter me from a religious argument is FAITH. Once you mention faith or once I detect in the tone or manner of arguement of my opponent, I'll discontinue the whole argument because you can't argue against faith: it is one of the most powerful gifts that we--humans--possess.
