R-e-v-e-a-l-e-d: How Uduaghan Paid Obasanjo And Tribunal Judges Over N3 billion To Buy Election [Photocopies Of Cheques Available]

Two cheques, issued in June 2010 and June 2011, provide incontrovertible evidence about how the embattled governor of Delta state, Emmanuel Uduaghan, buys favours and pays off supporters with state funds.

The cheques, which were issued from the Oceanic Bank accounts operated by the Delta State government, show that the state government made illegal payments to the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, whom it had retained to influence tribunal judgments during difficult political times.

The first cheque was initially issued to Obasanjo Farms on June 15, 2010, from a Delta State account with number 0051-301-000008 for Seven Hundred and Seventy eight million, six hundred thousand Naira (N778, 600,000).

However, in a high noon manoeuvre three days later, on June 18, 2010, the money was transferred to a Manager at Wema Bank Plc, to the Obasanjo Farms account number 1261153353017 with Sort Code 035171263.

As SaharaReporters revealed in a previous report, that account was one of the various secret bank accounts maintained by Obasanjo in Wema Bank.

The last cheque, which had been identified as the monies used to bribe election petition tribunal judges that recently proclaimed Dr. Uduaghan the winner of the highly rigged January 6, 2011 re-run election, also emanated from Oceanic Bank where Uduaghan’s current Commissioner of Finance, Bernard Okumagba, once served as a “financial planner” in the mid 1990ss.

The cheque, for N2.5 billion, was addressed to “Manager Oceanic Bank Call Account” and was reportedly cashed and moved away in bullion vans to a location from which judges, consultants and lawyers were paid in cold, hard cash.

That mind-boggling amount of N2.5 billion was taken out of the “Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC)” account of the Delta State government in Oceanic Bank with Account Number “0051-301-000059”.

After the monies were cashed, they were reportedly given to actors in the election tribunal that included three judges. Other beneficiaries were Chief Obasanjo, Mr. “Fix-It” Anthony Anenih, and Jonathan’s Chief of Staff, Mike Oghiadomhe.

It would be recalled that the final judgment of the re-run election tribunal was read by Tribunal Chairperson Justice Uzoamaka Ogwurike on July 25 2011.  The judge had given the impression that the tribunal was doing a thorough job and planned to annul the election when, in fact, she was negotiating a higher pay-off amount, put at N350 million, for herself separate from other members who had accepted their bribe early in the work of the tribunal.

SaharaReporters contacted the Delta State Commissioner of Finance to ask about the transactions by calling his mobile phone number, but he sent us a text message saying he was busy at a meeting.  After we disclosed we were calling from New York, he never called back as promised.

Of course he is . Only a mad person or a bigot will deny that Jonathan is not grossly considering that he is surrounded by some of the most evil and rapaciously corrupt individuals ever seen in Nigeria.  Look at the names involved to include Uduaghan himself. GEJ , at one stage, was chief campaign officer for the re-election effort of Uduaghan. As for the three names mentioned below, I am sure we are all aware of what they have done and continue to do for "fresh air". The GEJ Government, as I have always insisted, is one of fraud, deception and the deliberate connivance of AGIPs and the most ruinous hands in our history to fleece Nigeria shamelessly. That is why , right now, only the AGIPs and the "owners of Nigeria" are smiling all the way to the bank while ordinary Nigerians must make do with extreme suffering "fresh air"

ther beneficiaries were Chief Obasanjo, Mr. “Fix-It” Anthony Anenih, and Jonathan’s Chief of Staff, Mike Oghiadomhe.

GEJ and his anti-corruptions mantra. Shame on those that refuse to look beyond religious & ethnic sentiment to vote for PDP and their goons to continue bleeping Naija from behind. GEJ is "Lesser Evil" indeed. You ask for it then here it is!

This is complete BS. OBJ who has a blank check of the federal republic of Nigeria is collecting a bribe of 8M?. Simply because the governor wrote a cheque to Obasanjo farms, it suddenly becomes bribery. Can't they purchase farm products that amount?.

And the N2Bn cheque looks forged/photoshopped abeg.  I understand that corruption has eaten deep into the country but OBJ is not on the top list of the most corrupt public servants besides, he is smarter than collecting a cheque for bribe. Try again, mister, I am not buying it. SaharaReporters again!!

Re: Picture Of Delta State Cheques To Pay Obasanjo Farms by duality(m): 12:13pm On Aug 04, 2011
but delta state government has a partnership with obasanjo farms. and the partnership is worth about 3 billion naira. i guess that was what the money was for. besides news about the farm has always been on our national dailies.

eg, http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/07/delta-to-sustain-n3bn-agric-partnership-with-obasanjo-farms/

so we first must separate this allegation of election tribunal fraud from any thing that has to do with the farm
Re: Picture Of Delta State Cheques To Pay Obasanjo Farms by Oziada: 12:15pm On Aug 04, 2011
Chei inna this na money o!!! You just can imagine the number of deltans that could benefit from that money. Anyway except thereis no judgement day, all of these people will give account and by Gods grace they will face the wrath of all these.

This is it !!!  GEJ will surely be a part of this conspiracy given the involvement of Uduaghan,OBJ, Anenih and Ogiadomhe . Marry this appalling conspiracy with the touted benefits of the tenure elongation bill and it becomes immediately obvious that GEJ is a scam artist. The same President who 'settled' folks silly just to win an election (and endorses others like Uduaghan doing same) is now the leader interested in reducing the cash expended on elections ? Even a baby can tell that the tenure elongation bill has very few real benefits to anyone but GEJ and PDP miscreants who will have an uninterrupted  6-7 years to loot and misrule.

Corruption is inbedded in all our past and present leaders without any check and balances, i would blame the Central bank or the finanical regulatory body for not questioning the purpose of that large sum of money leaving one person's account and going into another someone else!!what will be the implication of that amount of money in calculation be to the general nigeria populace !!So the regulatory bodies needs to be blame as well for this

i can as well scan a cheque and post it here saying he's excellency gave it to any ghost for any reason whatsoever.

absolute nonsense!!!
Re: Picture Of Delta State Cheques To Pay Obasanjo Farms by GoldCircle: 12:34pm On Aug 04, 2011
This is indeed very shocking! I wonder how Baba Obj (or Obasanjo farms) will exonerate & extricate himself from this mess. This has finished whatever is left of his tattered image. And we would also like to know how the judiciary will also handle this.

Now everybody believes SR when they have a consistent record of misrepresenting information. I'm not absolving anyone of anything but I think its rather early and unwise to believe this report from SR as gospel truth.

By their fruits ye shall know them. . . beside that money paid to Obasonjo farm is almost 800milla NOT 8milla. So put on your thinking cap.

Na so una talk when saharareporters revealed that Reuben Abati was to become chief 'spin doctor' to OBJ. We also heard it was "misleading propaganda" when saharareporters stated that a tenure elongation bill was in the offing.

Sadly for its detractors, Saharareporters , while majority of news agencies help our leaders bury the truth
, have exposed the dirty dealings of our leaders far too many times for any objective person to write them off casually.
Re: Picture Of Delta State Cheques To Pay Obasanjo Farms by VoodooDoll(m): 12:41pm On Aug 04, 2011
Ok, I cannot stand OBJ, But this report is circumstantial and inconclusive. A post above from the Vanguard even throws more doubt on the report.

Sahara Reporters must do better.
