Young man, most of this boys don't want to work, you will be surprised many of them are graduate.

I spoke with a young man once he said he can't start from the scratch when his mate are already having cars, houses and married, he plainly said, there's no way he will accept a salary of 50k as a starting none experienced graduate, he said even 100k is not his portion.

If you want to buy car, build house within 6 months, fraud is the only way. Until we change our mentality, even ladies prefer to date a yahoo boy, they admit it without shame and you think one president will miraculously make everything better. Keep dreaming!

Let's be honest
What can 50k do for a graduate. Make we talk truth.
50k for one year is 600k.
That's less than $1000. For a year.
You expect a graduate to rent an apartment from that salary. Buy foam in his house and kitchen utensils and still feed himself and cater for his family with that salary....
Make we talk truth, the Nigerian state makes living so difficult for young people abeg

Nope. People don't do fraud because there is no work. They do fraud because they like the lifestyle. How many of them do you see who make the money and then use it for a normal life?

The vast majority spend their loot on la vida loca. It is the lifestyle that they want, it's not because of no work. Offer the average yahoo boy a 50k factory job in Benin and see whether he will take. He will rather prefer to "bomb" and do dating even though he may not make more than 200 usd iTunes card in a month.

Unemployment is not to blame for fraud.

So let's use that same Benin for this analysis of your 50k salary. Let's assume the boy is an ND graduate from Usen Polytechnic or Auchi. He gets a 50k salary job at 7up in Oluku. So he needs to rent an apartment. He gets an apartment for let's say 150k a year. His annual take home pay is 600k. Now he has to buy foam in his room and pot and other utensils. He will spend let's say 100k if he manages very well which you know it's very difficult at the moment. He has 350k left for the year. This he will use to transport himself, feed himself, cloth himself and pay his utility bills and keep some for his family.

All this he will do if he is given the money upfront
But how do you expect someone who is paid monthly to do all this in one year. It will take him over a year to do all this with the support of family and friends if he lucky. How many people really have this support system to bank on.

What Betnaija and Fraud does is that, it gives people the ability to start faster. If either a fraudster or a gambler gets 600k once, he will be able to do everything in a space of two months and then, even if falls out of the street into working your 50k jobs. He can fit in and readjust his life.

So fraud or betnaija is like that credit system that gives you a push in this extremely difficult economic situation. That's why people are attracted to it.

Even in the civil service, it's proceeds from Inlfated contracts that government workers use in buying lands, roofing their houses or even buying a car. Their Salaries is just for day to day spending.

Franchas….. if the average Nigerian youth is exposed to more advanced internet training then it will be disastrous.

The mind of a typical Nigerian is dirty. No matter how you train them and employ them with decent salary, they are always thinking about how to use it to blow and drive big cars, club and retire from slaving 9-5.
Believe me. I was among them before and know their mindset

When did cyberfraud blow up
Refresh your mind
It was mid 2014-2015.

Before then nobody was proud to be called a yahoo boy. It was on code. There was no pride in it because the society saw it as crime. Ask yourself, what happened. The system collapsed. Poverty skyrocketed and you had a large chunk of graduate out of the system with no jobs. These sophisticated young set moved into cyber crime and polished it and heaped the blame on the government...

It was this group of mostly educated graduates that later fell back to the streets for recruitments. When they graduated, they had no jobs, they had to hang out with street boys. When they got money from cyber crime, they recruited street boys with very little education and gave them what you call FMT. These street boys worked very hard because they have little access to education and wanted to escape poverty. Some hit it very big and that's how the cycle blew up. These street boys became a success story to other younger ones who knew they no hope of tertiary education. immediately they finished secondary school, they sign up.

So you have a cycle.
Immediately it became a norm. Society accepted it. That's why no matter what, fraud is highest among university environments and students than in other areas. It's students who learnt it that took it to the slums and streets where they came from.

So if a government can come and fix things that will make the educated class less attractive to cyber crime, it will go a long way and change the narrative.

The more we keep pushing out more graduates from the universities with no good jobs, the more you will have them falling Into cyber crime and them being seen as a role model to those who couldn't even attend universities.

Let's be sincere, while we all grew up, we wanted to be like that bros that was a university student or corper shun.

Those saying these are Ghanians obviously have never travelled out of their dark shit holes, any exposed and experienced person will know from their accent that these are Nigerian youth hustling in Ghana mostly Niger Delta/Benin boys and I bet that many of them are students that should have been engaged in school work and assignments if not for the persistent ASUU strike.
