CBN is not in charge of economic policy.

Monetary policy, yes, but only as a reaction to what Buhari and his finance and planning folk do....and what the oyel price says.

Plus, we don't change our currency that frequently. The last change we had was in 2013, and even then for the N100 note.
CBN greatly influences economic policy, if the money is right the economic is right.

Well, there is nothing they can do about how much revenue we earn or how it is spent....

At the end, we need to diversify our economy away from oil, and raise revenues from taxes, and remove subsides. Then naira may improve. The above three are the job of whoever is the president and his economic team, not the CBN governor.

And CBN governors have been dropping hints from time gone by...and past and present leaders don't listen to them.

Reason for New notes should be stated in this kind of News so that we will know whether to challenge the CBN and its Leadership or not.

I admire Tinubu but I condemn him and his party if they do anything wrong.

I am not like some people that parade a presidential aspirant as Saint, foolishly and preposterously defend his wrong doings, attack anyone that points out the errors their personal Lord and Saviour makes. This is the most infuriating thing about him and his supporters.

You begin to wonder if his supporters have any iota of intelligence.

Struggling to see the need for this at this time. I didnt listen to Emefiele's press conference but I imagine he is doing this to tighten amount of money in circulation. It will force people to turn in their cash to the banks and I suspect a requirement will be to open an account for those without one. That will enable a lot more people to be banked thereby reducing the size of the informal economy. This is apart from the possibility of reining in some corrupt folks.
