BDC will loose their dollars and face scrutiny for bringing in huge amount of Naira.

Already you know there's a form to fill for transactions over a certain amount where you can be summoned to explain how u got it and if you say you are a BDC you can be asked to provide whoever had such amount to you.

It's a risk for the BDC.
I don't see any of them collecting billions or millions of naira in cash when they can loose everything

The time is too short to change the 3 trillion naira in cash being hoarded around the country. That kind of dollars is not available in black market

It's a CBN monetary policy aimed at stabilizing the Naira.

The CBN will always suggests ways in stabilizing the currency and sends to the president for approval. It's not him doing it after all,you all said he doesn't have a certificate . So,how come he knows the pros and cons of printing rebranding the naira.

They ,the CBN want to flush out 'blackmoney' and this is election period where those politicians have taken all the currency to a save haven to spend next year.

They will not be happy with this news because,all what they would have saved will be valueless come next year .

The CBN is not after the money that'll be deposited.
They're going after withdrawals after the deposits.
Unfortunately, only opposition politicians will suffer.
BDCs actually have a responsibility of reporting any huge sums presented for exchange but they often don't report anything, especially when it borders a "big fish" who usually rewards them handsomely.

Most politicians does not store their loot in Naira cos of it volatility. They store their loot in $$ and can't easily convert old naira to $$. CBN is the most confused entity in Nigeria... Buhari administration is the definition of insanity. Keep doing same thing over again hoping the result will be different this time...

Politicians are confused now. CBN will not print much of the new currency, and won't replace returned currency with cash, they will mostly get e-naira.

Over 80% of currency in circulation is outside the banking system, and not in banks vault.
