TonySpike:I like Zack Snyder's cinematographies. They are virtually stunning and aesthetically unique. More years to his age! |
obinna5000:Good list! Disney got 5 movies, Warner Bros got 3 movies and the rest belongs to other companies. |
Minemrys:Tom Cruise will make a good green lantern. But, he is too much of an expensive actor, |
Kingrapha:By the way, no official Justice League trailer has been released. What you saw in July were just initial footages for Comic Con fans. The first trailer might not be released. |
kryptonian1987:Batman and Superman are not yet friends in the DCEU, so I am not surprised by this news. This strictly follows the events of BvS. |

moneyallowed:Hahaha, did you say that Doctor Strange will outgross Man of Steel? Wake up and smell da coffee, man! Doctor Strange has lost over 3300 cinemas in the US alone and currently stands at $657 million, $12 million shy of MOS. I don't see Doctor Strange earning beyond $662 million eventually ![]() |
I watched this video yesterday and different thoughts came to my mind. I will try as much as possible to give a better explanation of these prophecies as God has allowed me to perceive it. 1. The 2015 elections will be a closely contested one. One of the candidates may end up with the highest number of votes but fail to meet the 25% requirement, and the other will meet this requirement but will have a lower number of votes. 2. The aftermath may lead to a power struggle reminiscent of the June 12 scenario, as prophesied by other Men of God. 3. This power struggle may assume religious and ethnic colouration and it is very likely that the one of the men will be declared winner. 4. The declaration will be met with stiff resistance by the populace, this will induce the military to take-over. Readers should note that the military will use the excuse of Boko-Haram uprising and corrupt elections to seize power. 5. Following the coup, a lot of politicians will be arrested, jailed and some may be executed. Boko-Haram will be totally suppressed. The military might declare a total ban on all forms of religious activities also as prophesied in this video. 6. After some time, the military will organise another election just as this man said in the video. The new civilian government will maintain the total suppression of religious activities in Nigeria but Nigeria will grow rapidly during this period. In summary, Nigeria is approaching a total 'cleansing' period that will shake the whole world. Development will come after this period, but at a costly price of dictatorship that will shake the foundations of Nigeria. GEJ's role is to signal the arrival of that dictator and he has been playing the role unconsciously by sinking Nigeria into the abyss of ethnic and religious clashes. |
The Yoruba are a great people, perhaps one of the few African civilisations mentioned alongside the great Songhai, Hausa, Bini and Asante empires. A people so cultured and intelligent! |
Tony Spike: TRAILER - DAWN OF THE PLANET OF APESHas anyone here watch the initial movie Rise of the Planet of Apes? It looks like a subtle attempt at describing evolution |
olas24u: Go back and read the event of the coupAre you acquainted with CIA operations? |
eGuerrilla: Exactimo! The lads at Langley had to remove Murtala Muhammed by all means possible; and while OBJ was to become a beneficiary and also a hired hand later on, he was, at best, only incidental to that particular coup.Exactly what I'm speculating... |
Many people here don't really know how CIA operations are executed. Certainly, CIA covert operations are done in simultaneous batches all to achieve one single aim. Sometimes, there could be more than one CIA operation targeted at Murtala Mohammed's regime. Funnily, the proxies being used for such operations might be unaware that the next man to them is also a covert operative assigned to checkmate him. For instance, Obasanjo's role (if He were a CIA operative back then) might just be to take-over from Murtala Mohammed after the assassination #just saying. That said, I do not want to agree with the OP's childish assertion... |
mwanawefwe: I am impressed by observations made in this article. It is interesting that far away in West Africa some peoples refer to a child as 'omu' or 'omo'; 'omuan' for person and umunna for children . The Bukusu (a subgroup of the Luyia) in Kenya say 'omuana' for a child and 'babana' for children, while 'omundu' is a person. I begin feeling the urge to get more word relationships from these ethnic groups. I think we are one and the same people unless geneticists say otherwise.Nice to have you on this thread. Your contributions are needed no matter how little it is. Tell me, why are Luhyas referred to as Bantus when your language is heavily influenced by Nilote words. I have a theory that Luhya, Luos and the Yorubas had some form of relationships as far as 4000-5000 yrs ago with the focal point in ancient Misri. The frequent use of O's and A's in many words of these three African groups is enough suspicion and not coincident, so to say. What is your opinion, sir? |
Sincere 9gerian: Go and tell that to the dogs. Buhari over threw Shagari simply to satisfy personal lust for political power. If you talk in terms of corruption, who is richer today between Shagari and Buhari? How did Buhari get all the funds he waste on elections every 4 years? Buhari is a smooth criminal.Dude, I think you might wanna re-read your history books again on the bolded. The information we have is that Buhari was 'given' power by the coup plotters, just like Gen. Ironsi of 1966 coup. On the main topic of the thread, I have nothing to contribute; I'd rather remain passive. |
lygn19: So if I might ask u, what was d Igbo money being seized for,...Mr iygn19, please I would advice you to do a thorough research on the Nigerian Civil War. You seem to rely more on oral stories than the factual events in books. There are many books (views/opinions and factual documentations) available on this subject. It might interest you to know that the Central Banks in Enugu (and Benin too) were looted during the war. Infact, the Nigerian pound was used to bankroll the printing of Biafran pounds until the currency was changed to NAIRA. It might also interest you to know that the FG paid all the revenues of the Eastern Government accrued to them during the 2.5 years war after the war ended. There are lot of documents out there to get yourself educated. That said, the Nigerian Civil War was an unfortunate calamity that could have been prevented! |
rodeo0070: Nice collections. Looking forward to 2014 by God's grace...Amen, bro... |
Even the mystical Osun River is not besieged like this in such a profane manner. Is this a sign of poverty or illiteracy? |
The writer of the letter must be another fictitious and non-existent SHAMA MALIGA... |
Tony Spike: I think the Edge of Tomorrow movie will break grounds too, I hope I'm really right about this...I saw a review on this movie and I think Tom Cruise did a good job like He did in Oblivion. |
I just saw the Jupiter Ascending trailer. I see the Wachowski brothers are back with another movie after their 2012 Cloud Atlas movie just managed to break even in production costs. The special effects look tight, I hope it can garner followers like the matrix and hopefully hit the box office majestically. |
I think I'm gonna love this Noah movie. I love Russell Crowe; He did well in the Man of Steel movie... |
MetaPhysical: Excellent point! The truth is that the more we stay in this entity called Nigeria, the more we lose our Yorubaness and the more difficult it'll be to trace a lot of ancient events to their respective timelines. As we are discussing this now, a lot of Yoruba dialects are going into extinction because we have all adopted the Oyo dialect as the standard language. Besides, many cultural and traditional practices have been (and are still being) phased out in a span of over 70 years!!! For example, I grew up speaking the Oyo dialect and I can't communicate in my native Ekiti language at the moment. I don't even understand a bit of it....now, let us fast forward to say, 50 years from now, what is going to be the fate of the Yoruba language and its numerous dialects? So, I believe this is the time for Yoruba nation as a whole to get its act together and initiate massive research into our past. It is now or never... |
shymexx: - I honestly believe everyone is trying to dissociate Yoruba history from MENA (Middle East and North Africa) because of what present day Arabs are like and what that part of the world is known for. However, if we look beyond that, and focus on timeline and how close it's to all the other Nile Valley civilisations - it might be plausible, to be honest. We just need to accept everyone's hypothesis for now and keep doing research about the origin of the Yoruba's, since we all know Yoruba didn't start in Ife.Linguistics is a clue to our past, it could explain the various contacts our ancestors have had in the time past. It could also give us clues on ancient Yoruba interactions in the areas of trade and commerce, religion, arts and culture. We cannot completely ignore the effects of our language, no matter how minimal it is. With regards to the linguistics comparison, I believe what we shall mainly get to see may be word fragments here and there. For now, I cannot possibly to come to a conclusion on that venture! |
macof: How do u know the bold is true? There is no certainty.Yeah, they are very much more of hypotheses at their infancy. It might take a lot of time, funds and efforts to come out conclusively with the real origin of the Yoruba people. This is not even a twenty year research, it will take a long time to put all the missing jigsaws in place. The eventual result(s) of such a series of investigation will shock a lot of people, including myself. Meanwhile, we should try not to condemn anybody's research that seem out of place at the moment, that's the best way to kill a researcher's spirit. I wish Yorubaland were a nation on its own, it would have been much more easier to fund such research within our national research. As it is now, it would be very difficult to embark on such a research within the borders of Nigeria. |
ifyalways: Insert anything into my precious annus? God forbid ooh,I no dey joke with shittt businessTrue |
Around 400 AD, a woman Philosopher named Hypatia was lynched for her unrelenting study of Mathematics and Astronomy - subjects that were considered blasphemous, Paganist and unconventional in Christian Alexandria, Egypt. Before she died, she had proposed several hypotheses on conic sections, many of which were suppressed (by dogmatic Christians) for over 1000 years until Johannes Kepler (1609) re-discovered and applied her hypotheses . These works were later found applicable in gravitational theories and proved useful in the prediction of celestial bodies motions. Today, it has found a wider application in satellite communication. Why am I driving these points? Firstly, many of us seem to have dogmatic opinions about Yoruba history and origins. I'm afraid we don't want to accept any theory (or hypothesis) not validated by recent oral histories. As far as I'm concerned, more than 85% of all West-African groups came from somewhere, sometime in ancient times. Did all Yoruba groups 'suddenly' appear where they are now? Did Yoruba groups develop their language in isolation? Can we say the ancient Yoruba religion developed its nomenclature from within? Can we scientifically prove that all Yorubas have the same haplotype DNA? These are questions that need answers beyond the oral traditions we have. Actually, only private/government funded inquisition/research can help us establish the puzzles we seek to unravel. That said, I don't think Metaphysical's hypothesis should be discarded in a hurry. With time, it might even become one of the 'hail marys' of Yoruba history. We don't need to unnecessarily 'lynch' his findings and dispel them for lack of evidence(s). Knowledge is continuum, it has no beginning or end but is only subject to simplicity over time. As far as I know, Egypt and Sudan are ancient landmarks important to unraveling some of these mysteries. Thank you all... |
How should a decent President respond to a glaring case of public fund wastage? I'd advise everyone on this thread to click the link below to see how late US President J.F. Kennedy responded to incompetent and corrupt officials in the video/audio below. After watching this video, I could only shake my head at Nigeria's irresponsible leaders. ladionline: Given the chance, you will emptied the Afroasia to Yoruba, but Ibos who are natural kin of the black race Yoruba can not be spotted with Yoruba, they do not have a Sango and does not read Qur'an.Have you seen any threads on Nairaland where Yoruba-Igbo conjugal historical discussions end well? Including our Eastern brothers in our discussions here is an invitation to derail the objective of this beautiful thread. I hope you understand why it is better to ignore that area for now? |
Ayekotoo: you called Guatrain little things? you don't anything. check up the cost of construction and maintenance, you will be marvel at the one you are building.Don't mind that guy. I don't know why people just come here to spew trash. Gautrain is a 62 km high speed rail basically connecting Jo'burg to Pretoria and this is a very expensive but worthwhile investment. That high speed network cost over NGN 380 Billion to design and execute. I don't think Lagos State can afford (and sustain) such a project at the moment although, it would be nice to have one though. |
ilugunboy: That is the station at the National theatre end.Exactly, the National Theatre is located at Iganmu... |
edoyad: @740 megawatts, where is that edifice located, I was in lag and didn't even spot it. Later on they will come and call Fashola a propagandist, see things he is developing in silenceThat structure should be located at Iganmu end of the Mile 2 - Iganmu Light Rail corridor, I think.... |
