Today was spent at the Federal Ministry of Education getting our Degree Certificates authenticated. From what I saw, you can do it in about an hour. But mine took 3 to 4 hours because the big man that signed was not around AND I had issues that made me do additional uploads. 1 Like |

Oigiangbe10: Watch this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEMDdyL0tg0 At the 26 minutes mark, she referenced Nigeria. That answered what the Embassy of Portugal in Abuja is doing to us. Then jump 44 minutes where she talked about how long most visas will take. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEMDdyL0tg0 In my last post, I talked about Migration Tuesdays. This is the new incarnation of the webinar. It is now on Thursdays and features more experts not just migration. |

Progress... Yesterday was spent at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I authenticated all our documents. Hopefully, the next time I go there, it will be to authenticate the Police Character Certificate before going to the Embassy. |

Please help me I’m in a rut with this. I initially applied 5 weeks ago and in three weeks it changed but it changed to another wrong date, this time worse than the other (14 years difference against the initial error that was just a year difference) Please words can’t express how depressed I’ve been over this. I’ve been trying for over two much to change this thing. I’ve paid and paid more. I’ve even gone all the way to present my issue to the FCT state coordinator but nothing has changed Can I please get your email mail address so you can help me anyway possible. I beg you in the name of God c00la: |

Hi, please I went through the thread and noticed people talked about Authentication, do I need to authenticate my certificates(degree) before submitting to the Embassy cause I didn't see the requirement there or is it for job search when you get to Portugal. I am asking because my degree is from Benin Republic but I am a Nigerian and authentication is money in Benin Republic. Thanks for your response |

Hope4Naja: hello bro; please how to go about this one |
Re: Portugal Job Seekers Visa by c00la(m): 3:22pm On Apr 27, 2023 |
APAyuwa: As far as I know, authentication is required in every Embassy. Here is my logic... You want to get a job in PT hence... you want to go to PT on a job-seeker visa hence... you will need to SHOW your qualifications for the job hence... you will need to SUBMIT your job qualifications in your visa application To avoid your Visa application being rejected, you need to authenticate your certificate(s) at Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in Abuja. At MoFA, if the certificate/credential is related to education (WAEC,NECO, BSC, etc.) they will insist you first go to the Ministry of Education (MoE) to get it authenticated. Hence, start at MoE and get the educational certificates authenticated (it will take a day) then move to MoFA and get the certificates and all others authenticated (another day) Basically, you pay the FGN/Ministry for each certificate via Remita, then submit copies of the receipt (always two copies) for the certificate authentication. If you have access to a scanner, and can pay through Remita, you can do the groundwork for both MoE and MoFA by yourself and then go and submit. With what I know now, I can do both in 1 day. There are certain issues you will face but with patience, and money, you will overcome. What I authenticated in MoE 1. University Certificate 2. WAEC Results What I authenticated in MoFA 1. University Certificate 2. University Certificate Copy (authenticated) 3. WAEC Results 4. WAEC Results Copy (Authenticated) 5. Court Marriage Certificate 6. 7. Employment Letter 8. Regularisation Letter 9. Promotion Letter 1 10. Promotion Letter 2 11. Declaration of Age (They said this is not ideal, they prefer Attestation of Age from Nigeria Population Commission if you don't have a birth certificate) What I have to authenticate later just before submitting my Visa Application (at MoFA) 1. Police Character Certificate 2. Attestation of Age 3. Scanned Bio page of my International Passport All these for me and the same documents for my wife since we are both applying for the job-seeker visa. For kids, the Birth Certificate. 7 Likes 3 Shares |

APAyuwa: You will need to authenticate your documents, but alot of things have change now in terms the documents upload and the charges as well |
Re: Portugal Job Seekers Visa by itunuoye: 12:15pm On Apr 29, 2023 |
Please I want to know if Job Seeker visa is short stay or long stay visa. Then do you mean we have to authenticate all this documents below: 1. University Certificate 2. WAEC Results 3. Marriage Certificate 4. Employment Letter 5. Regularisation Letter 6. Promotion Letter 7. Declaration of Age/Birth Certificate 8. Police Clearance 9. International Passport. What do you mean by Regularisation Letter How much should be in my account for financial statements. Lastly for a woman that is applying also and she have a baby of 8months, will she fill online application for the baby too and also pay the baby application fees. I will be waiting for response. Thanks c00la: |
Re: Portugal Job Seekers Visa by c00la(m): 3:16pm On May 15, 2023 |
itunuoye: To answer your questions: I think the Job-Seeker visa is a long stay visa (national visa) because of where it is located on the https://vistos.mne.gov.pt/ website. The Documents on my list are what I authenticated. They have to do with my job history because I will need it to get a job in PT. Remember, you are relocating to there to look for a job . But, you can authenticate what you feel comfortable with. #9 is not the International passport itself but a scanned copy of the data page of the passport. Regularisation letter- In some Government Agencies, you first get a Temporary Appointment Letter, then a Regularisation of Appointment letter, then a Confirmation Letter (after 2 years). So it is a letter. You should have 3 months of the Portuguese Minimum wage of 760.00 euros per month in the bank (2,280 euros). Then there is a certain percentage of that amount of each spouse or child (I think it is 50% for spouse and 30% for each child). In my case, my wife and I are applying for separate job-seeker visas, so it is 3 months PT minimum wage for each of us. Use the D7 Visa requirements as a guide: https://www.atlys.com/country/portugal/national-type-d-7-visa Mother will fill Visa Application form and pay Visa fees. Mother fills a Visa Application form on behalf of each child and pays Visa fees. Sorry for the late response... 1 Like |

Hello i want to know if the embassy has started receiving long stay application for the job seeker visa and this whole authentication thing does it apply to foreign degrees? |
Re: Portugal Job Seekers Visa by c00la(m): 2:03pm On May 16, 2023 |
pristine88: On Page 1, there is a phone number and email address of the Embassy. Authentication is done for only Degrees and Certificates awarded by Nigerian educational Institutions. |
