Since Nigerian youths refused to have sense and say no to political tribalism that only favors the elites of their tribe, I have no pity for an average Nigerian suffering the ills of bad government in Nigeria today because it seems Nigerians deserve the corrupt, insensitive leaders they have undecided
My brother e tire me. If they like let them self subject themselves to suffering and torture for the next 16 years under Tinubu and Atiku. My family won't be here to suffer with them.

What Agbaje pointed out is nothing but the truth. How will a bank executive resign her position and relocated to become a health care assistant and all you could do is to justify it by saying she earns a decent pay. What kind of life is she living there and how much does she earns? You are talking of fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram, those people running away from Nigeria are not even in there region of bandits and Boko Haram, these are Southerners using Boko Haram as the excuse to japa only to end up with lower standard of living, while those who are directly affected are not even considering japa as an option.

People tend to use exchange rate to measure wealth, but you are wrong. Exchange rate is not and indices to measure standard of living. You measure standard of living using what is called PPP(Purchasing price/power parity). That is what is used to determine standard of living not exchange rate. There are people in Nigeria here who have never touched dollar or pounds in their life ,but have higher standard of living that so many of their counter parts abroad.

Quit this your japa mentality and build yourself here, there is honey and gold in Nigeria here. You can't convince someone like me to japa,I will rather go there to invest and return home just to spread my business nothing more.

I stand with Agbaje.
Abgaje schooled abroad and all his children are also abroad with foreign passports, so what stops him from keeping his children here to search for the said available opportunities ?

He makes a valid point, however the likelihood of success or a breakthrough in this country is way too slim. It's like trying to fit through the eye of a needle to get employment or raise money in this country.

If you have a decent career or can generate or raise money to start a business here in Nigeria, then is better to stay here and harvest part of the opportunities Mr. Agbaje is talking about.

No looking back, as for me, japa is the way

We often get it wrong using this computation, it reeks of inferiority complex. The life you can live with N200K here in Nigeria, you will struggle spending $1000 in US.

Oga, people are going abroad and sending money back home to erect very fine fine houses from very common jobs they are doing there.
Many of them are considered very big boys back here in Nigeria whenever they come home.
All these currency purchasing power talk don't add up.
How many workers are well-paid here in Nigeria to start with. That's the crux of the matter.

Nothing is working here sir. ASUU is there, insecurity, no enabling conditions for biz, no light, the masses are inhumanly treated because of poverty, unquestioned embezzlement by people in high places etc. As many as can go should do so, take care of your self and family because nobody cares about you. All the people telling you not to go are looking for how they can use you. I know countless people that gave gone and are doing legit jobs and have built houses in Nigeria now. People that never thought they can buy a square meter of land in naija.

Get it straight. Having the opportunity to be there and be settled to life over there,is different from someone who is already doing well here but resigned, sold off his properties and relocated, this are two different issues.

Why will someone already living well here decides to japa without no clear cut out and better plan, only to take a gamble and end up worse off. No be mumu be that

We are used to such nomenclature in Naija. That is why you see stories in the media referring to every Tom, Dick and Harry of a banker as " Bank Manager".

Cases like that are many. Truth is, there are levels you get to in Nigeria that you will know japaing should not be for you. The question most people fail to answer is " what are we really pursuing in life"?

He's forgotten the rot in the corporate world. In the past within 8-10 years in the bank, you become a Manager. Now, there are people with 15years who are far from becoming managers due to many new levels introduced and the banks not doing real banking thus, no real sector growth in the economy.
Same applies to the big 4 where now it takes 15-18 years to becoming a partner from 12years.
Worst is the drought in entry level position and the restrictions against many people in the few that are.

Big name there was never a reason for migration if it isn’t about educating you and not enslaving you.

All other countries became a better place by migrating to be enlightened and coming back to build its economic value. And that’s what every human is, an economic value.

Imagine having over 30million Nigerians in diaspora (having super sanity and perfect mentality) not willing to come back because Boko haram is being funded by the countries housing these our diaspora people dem, Na reverse dey wound us back to back.

Becoming a lawyer over there is much open and easier. Celebrity porn actor Kim Kardashian is in the process of becoming one for you to know how easy becoming a lawyer is. Most of those making it over there have skills that sell over there. That man's case is one of not looking before looping.

The senior bank executive that resigned to go and be cleaning oyinbo yansh in the UK, is probably one of the most foolish human being I have ever read about. Trust me that person is regretting that move despite any claims to the contrary, shows that despite the education and exposure the average African have been brainwashed beyond redemption.
