Highlight of this thread: Yorubas voted in Buhari to spite Igbos for supporting and benefitting from GEJ's administration... So yaribanzas had to even the score which they did. But the prevailing national disasters of Buharis terrible administration didn't evade them despite been biggest beneficiaries of his govt... for the first time in yaribanza history they've now added an embarrassing record of been refugees in Benin Republic after been sacked and displaced by ordinary Bororo cattle herders... so much for been sophisticated people! What a funny conundrum 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Minjim: You are not intelligent. This thread was about Tinubu short-sightedness that decided to shortchange Mulikat in other to bury PDP in Southwest and pave way for ACN merger with CPC. Your marginalization in GEJ tenure was planned and marshalled by Tinubu to demarket PDP and GEJ in SW, and it worked. If was a gamble that paid off, since Buhari won later. And you were all gathering here like Hawks to dance your Schadefreude dance of shame when Buhari was marginalizing Ndiigbo. Now your Buhari reggae has turned to blues, you are here trying to spin narratives. 4 Likes 1 Share |
Re: Yoruba Marginalization: Elders Met Jonathan To Complain - SMH by Igboid: 10:16am On May 18, 2021 |
Tobrasky: Nope. You missed the first part. Yorubas( Tinubu and ACN) had to demarket PDP and GEJ in SW to pave way for Buhari popularity in the region. They did this by frustrating GEJ and PDP attempt to make a Yoruba PDP member, named Mulikat, the speaker of the house. They all joined hand to make Tambuwal the speaker of the house, ensuring that SW had no top post in GEJ government. Then they turn around and blame GEJ for marginalizing Yorubas, and used it as Agenda to sell anti GEJ/Igbophobic narratives to their people back home. That Agenda helped Buhari make inroads in SW which eventually led to his victory in 2015. Once Buhari won, Yorubas were here dancing and were cheering all Buhari Government anti Igbo agenda. These people are insufferable. 7 Likes |

I read the first 6 pages, and all I can say is, I'm now enlightened, if I was told without evidence, the amount of hate Igbos have for Yoruba, I won't believe it, now there is evidence, the first 6 pages are horrible, very horrible, if it is coming from Hausa/Fulani, yeah well as expected, but Igbos, shocking, Now I see no difference in the mindset of Hausas and Igbos cos if igbos had more population and states in their enclave, and power domination like the north, they'd go the boko haram/Fulani herdsmen way of dominance and claiming the whole of Nigeria is theirs if their son is the President like what the north are displaying today, their hatred can only be rivaled by northerners, more than them sef, Yorubas are nice sha, we keep swallowing bullshit from different directions with no appreciation whatever, we always carry everyone along, include others regardless of tribe, yet we're being paid back with hatred? We need to start being selfish and self centered honestly. 23 Likes 4 Shares |

JovialJune: This is what I personally keep saying to fellow Yorubas. The Yorubas should be appreciated and exalted for what they are are in Nigeria and the beacon of hope they remain for a nation so horribly mired in ethno-religious disharmony and strife. Instead we get paid back in hate, unwarranted insults and non-stop attacks from all others. Reason is very simple. Travel all nations on mother Earth and you will appreciate that nowhere else are people more prone to take kindness for weakness than in Nigeria. Our liberal, tolerant, compassionate and accommodating ways has now being taken, by other Nigerians, to mean weakness and cowardice. Totally wrong nation for others to believe that about you because they will try and trample over you. Nigerians are prone to paying back kindness from others with evil and I see it every day live in 3D with my own eyes. No be sey dem tell me. Solution? Protectionism, more protectionism and even more protectionism. We need to go and learn from Ghana how to put our own people and their interest first on their land rather than give an inch to envious ingrates with a domineering, covetous and expansionist agenda. To discourage others from trooping in , including the criminals, because of the opinion that the Yorubas are a 'soft touch' people who are naive and gullible, we should put Yoruba-centric affirmative actions and policies in place everywhere across the SW . We must discriminate consciously and in favour of Yorubas in employment, sale of residential/business/agricultural/industrial land and property, business start-up training and support, selective favouritism towards non-threatening inward investment, market presence, vocational training for Yoruba youths, Yoruba deliberate cultural promotion and consciousness, infrastructural contract favoritism etc, etc, etc. Yorubas are the only major ethnic group practising one Nigeria beyond rhetoric and mere sloganeering but we are doing it in the wrong country. That is because Nigerians are the best 'trained' in the world at negatively exploit whoever they see as a 'mumu' or 'mugu'. We therefore need to stop our current self-destructive 'mumuism' and swing passionately behind Yoruba nationalism in SW Nigeria. 16 Likes 4 Shares |

Yorubas must bear in mind the central point of the messages below which is "adapt or die". We are at a big disadvantage not adapting to the reality of Nigeria and how our fellow Nigerians are as opposed to how Nigeria and our fellow Nigerians should be. “We all grow. We’re made to grow. You either evolve or you disappear.” “When you don’t innovate, you die. When you don’t change, you die.” “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.” 3 Likes 1 Share |

Grayoso: You had a chance to have your nation when BIAFRA seceded in 1967, but you chose to fight for one NIGERIA with Hausa Fulanis. Hurray! You won and your reward is that whether you like it or not, you must share your states including Lagos with Igbos. And you MUST tolerate and bear our excesses . Quite annoying right? Well you can't have your cake and eat it You already have the most form of nationalism you can have in SW, you produce the governor of all SW states including Lagos and you control your civil service too. What else do you want to do? Close Igbo shops and ask them to pay heavy taxes like they do in Ghana? Well, you would need to first of all get your Odua republic to achieve that, and believe me, the Igbo want nothing more than to leave Lagos for you, but only on the Condition that we get BIAFRA. 7 Likes |

JovialJune:I swear this particular thread has made understand guilty even the igbos here are too. I am a staunch supporter of Biafra, but I ma highly disappointed what I read. It is very bad. The Yoruba's had a right to complain as they did, and we were wrong to have antagonised them at that point. At this point, I can only ask for forgiveness from the Yoruba people. Indeed,we should understand Nigerian politics does not favour the common man. 1 Like |
