How APC overlooked intellectually sound progressive and younger Yoruba men of presidential calibre like Osibanjo, Fashola, Fayemi who can match Obi age for age, credentials for credentials, education for education etc and selected a Tinubu who is showing clear signs dementia to replace a historic failure presently in Aso Rock (Buhari) shows u that wichraft is real. How does a sound progressive thinking party field a Tinubu to replace a Buhari that failed woefully when they know that younger Nigerians are already yearning for revolutionary change in the next election? Tinubu is not a bad man, he has been nice to his friends and associates no doubt, but he has become too washed by age for the kind of President we need to redeem and rebuild this country. I am from South South, I supported Osibanjo wholeheartedly for APC ticket hoping that APC would use him to redeem itself from the failure of Buhari's government, but APC allowed Tinubu share dollars in the convention just as Atiku used dollars to buy his ticket in PDP. The rest is history, Obi is for everyone who does not want Tinubu/Shettima and Atiku/Okowa, they are in the absolute majority and Obi will win convincingly and shockingly to the political class.

Obasanjo is old and should be tolerated. The harsh tone of the response is unnecessary. Overall, Obasanjo’s endorsement of Peter Obi is a mere academic exercise. It won’t add new voters to the Obi candidacy. Obi will still lose Obasanjo’s polling unit, ward, local government and state. Tinubu will be elected president next month and there is nothing Obasanjo can do about it.

In my opinion, APC shouldn't have bothered replying OBJ. It only makes his "endorsement" seem somewhat relevant.

To the discerning, his support for Obi has been clear from day one. Amongst the frontline candidates, Obi is the only one that can be controlled or dictated to by OBJ. OBJ's aim is to ensure that his influence which was eroded by Buhari can be restored via Obi. All the talk about supporting someone from Eastern extraction is just a charade.

Asides this, I also perceive that OBJ has a personal animosity for Tinubu. Something akin to envy since the days of when Tinubu was a Governor.

To those saying that Tinubu went to beg OBJ for endorsement, you are spewing rubbish. Tinubu was advised to go see OBJ (being the most prominent Yoruba leader who is an ex-president) and sell his ambition to him, and Tinubu followed that advice.

Following the outcome of the meeting, it became clear that OBJ won't support Tinubu, but he also committed that he wouldn't support Atiku either and for the Tinubu camp, that was OK.

Election is next month, let's see how OBJ's and by extension the so called "Cabal of ex-Gemerals" endorsement helps Obi.

With all sense of humility, Nigerians do not owe any individual any form of political patronage therefore anyone who feels he has been owed should approach those who curry favors from him and demand compensation from them. Infact, those who think they are being owed are the one that owes Nigerians an explanation if not an apology for the failure they foisted on Nigerians. Nigerians are going through a lot especially with the current economic downturn bedeviling the whole world, yet one elderly man whose source of income is questionable, sees the presidential seat as his right.
