if there should be extension, it should be after all elections are conducted and hand over made. though Mr president has assured us that there is no going back for the Jan 31st deadline. am sorry, we can not extend it. we will cope with it with time. |

It is not CBN's job to curtail vote buying, if the only thing you can see in this policy is how it will affect vote buying then CBN has failed again in it's mandate. We have EFCC, INEC and other security outfits to tackle this issue, your sentiment should be directed at them on why they fail to do their job. The CBN deadline needs to be extended as it is unrealistic and will hurt our economy. SpecialAdviser: 1 Like |

NO. DON'T PASS THE BULK TO THE COMING GOVERNMENT. BUHARI IS RIGHT. 3 MONTHS IS ENOUGH TO RETURN OLD NAIRA NO MATTER THE QUANTUM AND VALUE. THE CBN SHOULD ASSIST COMMERCIAL BANKS IN EXCHANGING AND DISTRIBUTING THE NOTES SO THAT NIGERIANS DO NOT SUFFER UNWITTINGLY. |

PureFace1:😃😃 U no want understand my question abi So them want CBN to give them time to deposit or swap the money they stored at home without getting caught up with laundering act. As it stance now they are only fighting for their selves and not the masses. Apart from the money they laundered and stored at home do you think, they will spend the ones in their account. Childofaking:How did you amass 100 million in your house without visiting the bank? It's either the money got to your house via money laundering in the first place or the person na better thief. |

This is wild. Don't they know that doing this would just double the money supply. Wasn't reducing the money supply one of the aims of this policy in the first place?? |

Edipet: who is talking about INEC staffs i'm talking about the typical Nigerian that usually sell their votes with just 5k or less on Election day ? You think it will be difficult to transfer 5k to their accounts and they care whether it is in cash or not ? Even Inec officials can easily receive payment through indirect account and even payment methods like Crypto, Perfect money, skrill etc. |

slimfit1:forget about tinubu oooh!these guys are well connected , they can order the bank manager to give them new notes at anytime why you queue at the bank, the truth is that it's not dome anywhere in the world , this is pure wickedness that can turn the country upside down... The new notes in circulation is very scanty , I mean very scanty and when obasanjo did 100 centinary notes it wasn't like this at all.. From Monday you will know that the CBN got this one wrong!!. 3 Likes 1 Share |

In my opinion this CBN naira redesign was unnecessary and has no benefit to the economy. By the time amount spent (embezzled) in redesigning the naira is exposed, it may not be child's play when compared to the recent Accountant General (AGF) scandal! 1 Like 1 Share |

Bebigiby: Very true. I read this article that really analyzed the policy, and it gave it a score of 60%, and that was if they implemented it well. Looking at the way things are that 60% is now unachievable. Let me post the article here sef: https://redeagleng.com/economy/naira-redesign-policy/ 2 Likes |

God is already punishing some of you, the foolish Nigerians through Buhari and Emefiele's anti people economic policies such as scarcity of fuel and new naira notes. jcross19: You should have known that people like @slimfit1 passed through school but school didn't pass through them. A lots of shop owners have stopped opening from today, some filling stations are already rejecting old notes. By the time economy is partially and visibly grounded next week, may be people like him will understand that you don't run economy like this because you are targeting just one man (according to Zombiedients) |
