One of the reasons why our society is so filled with unruly youths is because the parents have gone looking for money, daddy and mummy wakes up at 4am to go work, the house-help is left to take care of the kids. the parents comes back by 10pm when the kids are asleep, during weekends prents are out there attending one social function or the other. We still wonder why most kids are wayward. If I earn 500k monthly, i will dedicate at least 20% of it to setting my wife up on some business, so she can be closer to the children. as a matter of fact my wife is resigning soon to run her business.

You've not seen children, raised by full time house wives and even house husbands turn out bad?

my inference is that the lady who asked this question doesn't agree with her hubby to work because he is earning enough so no need for her to work.

Lady it is good to work, because it might come in handy in a rainy day. What if something should happen to the man. Such ladies end up as beggers or pr0stitutes

700k rent amounts to a little over 50k a month. there's still 450 left.

45k out of that will cover your feeding and entertainment costs.

further 45k and all other costs (NEPA, GEN, DSTV< Petrol) are covered.

There's still enough to invest and live well.

People are posting on this forum as if 500k was really chump change. Its definitely enough to live a very good life in ANY nigerian city. Thats 6m a year if am not mistaken.

Unless you are a deeply profligate spender, you cannot spend more than 2m of that on personal expenses and there's still enough to buy land in lekki, mowe,agbara or kurudu for resale.

1. So that she wont get bored sitting around the house and then run away with the first male visitor with a good smile.

2. So my kids can have someone to pay for their chocolate and the dentist fees.

3. So we can make more money faster(Imagine main salary of 500k with wife supporting it with 230k-250k, thats 750k inflow to the family every month. Good stuff.)

Bless you child. Working sometimes is not even about how much you earn but about how happy are you doing what you do. If the man wants you to be more focused to the family and he earns enough but you still find that you love what you do, maybe try doing it on a part time basis just for fun
