If this happens in the US, proceedings to impeach a president that defies the Supreme Court would be swift.

People don't seem to understand that in undermining the Supreme Court, this President has set a very dangerous precedent that goes to the very roots of the country's legitimacy as a constitutional entity. Other Presidents are likely to do same in future.

Once the Supreme Court is defenestrated, we are on the road reckless lawlessness.

Foreign investors will look at the disregard for even the Supreme Court & they will say no, thank you, we would rather invest in another country where Court rulings affecting our contractual and property rights will be respected.

Supreme court has no knowledge of monetary policy. If you think otherwise why can't the supreme court pass a judgment against naira devaluation or decree the naira be exchanged at a certain amount.... Issues like this is clearly out of their jurisdiction and the power lies solely with the CBN governor. Politicians always go to court if things don't go their way, sadly not this one

The Supreme Court issued an order, Buhari issued a parallel order. Is Buhari bigger than the Supreme Court?. He is setting a dangerous precedent, he should h respected the sanctity of the highest court and asked Nigerians to wait the judgement of the SC.

The supreme Court first shot herself in the leg. This is the Supreme court that gave verdict to a person who came fourth. This is the Supreme court that gave judgement to people who did not contest for election. The people are with the President in this

It really showed that Buhari, didn't want some candidates now parading themselves as presidential candidate just because they can buy over politicians. It also make sense now that president would have preferred Osinbanjo but couldn't help.

What I can deduce logically from your wonderful piece is all those that have been supporting Buhari have being DUMB MOFOS.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction you know. Buharists (THE ACTORS) taught Nigerians wrongly. The Non- Buharists (THE REACTORS) are only playing out what THE ACTORS have been doing for the past 7 years. Don't blame THE REACTORS. Hope we learn for future references.
How many people in the North or Sw do you know that supports Buhari blindly or always making excuses for his failures? I don't know many.
The difference between the so called 2 actors that you identified is this- one group have shown over the years including when they supported Jonathan to always blindly support someone because of tribal leanings and to always blames others for the failure of the person they support. When Jonathan was failing, these people blamed the opposition for lack of fuel towards the end of his administration . They claimed it was Tinubu that made fuel scares.
The other actors have loyalty too but you will not hear any reasonable one among them saying Peter Obi is responsible for the failures of Buhari. They will admit that this govt have not lived up to their expectations. You will not hear an average Northerner claiming that Buhari failed because some other tribe sabotage his administration. They will accept their failure and move one.
So your analysis is invalid.

Stop talking like an illiterate, SC has jurisdiction over matters brought before it by the state government against the federal government and if it doesn't, it will refer the matter back to the lower court.

Why didn’t they take it to the Federal High Court in the first instance?

I'm so sure most of you that support this policy are either educated illiterate or economically novice. if you have your personal business that deals with farmers, market people etc that don't run bank account or know anything about transfer, you won't be here with your political view talking this way.

One mistake....the commander in cheif appoints the head of the apex court and sorts all of them with ghana must go...

...so we are just deceiving ourselves in this country when supreme court was giving court order to override the President's initial order...
