Buhari should ignore the supreme court and its corrupt decision. For years there was scarcity and many of these governors who are now suing the federal government didn't care about the masses , but since they know this decision runs contrary to their political advantages they are willing to run their own parallel rule of law irrespective of what the FG say

God bless you.

This is a matter of national security and the academic exercise at the Supreme Court is only meant for the dust bin

If this happens in the US, proceedings to impeach a president that defies the Supreme Court would be swift.

People don't seem to understand that in undermining the Supreme Court, this President has set a very dangerous precedent that goes to the very roots of the country's legitimacy as a constitutional entity. Other Presidents are likely to do same in future.

Once the Supreme Court is defenestrated, we are on the road reckless lawlessness.

Foreign investors will look at the disregard for even the Supreme Court & they will say no, thank you, we would rather invest in another country where Court rulings affecting our contractual and property rights will be respected.

This is why I don't take GenZ seriously when they say they want to take back their country. If you really want to take back your country, your focus will be on the systems of the Government and not a single person.

As you mentioned, this can not happen in the US because they have working systems. Imagine what Trump would have gotten away with if the US had Nigeria-esque systems and institutions.

This country will always do the wrong thing and the masses will always somehow cheer for the politicians responsible.

I am with this SAN on this...

Ideally by now, Supreme Court should be very angry and serve President Buhari really hot breakfast on the 22nd of February

This is what happens when people hail the president while disobeying court ruling in the past and still expect the president to obey when it suits their narrative. Buhari has been the worst leader of this country, economic indices are plummetting, due process of the law is non existent, very unfortunate.

The only problem I'm having is people casting him now were cheering him the other time, th chicken has come home to roast.

As for the supreme Court the highest they can do is to give a judicial ruling that can lead to a chain reaction in the national assembly leading to impeachment process.

Unfortunately, the law makers in the country are not independent. Buhari has negated the law on several occasions but no improvement notice whatsoever.

If Obi should be mistakenly become president of Nigeria, these are the kinds of irrational lunatic supports that these IPIG terrorist fools will be giving him even if the policy is plainly bad.
Im.not surprised one bit, I already know that all wailing and crying about Buhari all these while is simply because he's not Igbo. If Buhari had been Igbo with the same things happening, you people would have been making excuses for him on daily basis.
Well enjoy these last days before the election because after the election you will be in sorrow.
You will go back to calling Nigeria a zoo again.

Oga, you're talking plenty nonsense.

Where is Nnamdi Kanu currently? Answer that question first before you begin to salivate all over nairaland.

The supreme court said and made i clear the deadline date on the #200,#500 and 1000 of February should be on hold(not implemented) until the case has been decided

It means those old currencies remain legal tenders until the case has been resolved

Now emefiele pushing Mr President to make a proclamation about legal status and deadline of the old note means contempt!

Supreme Court Of Corruption.

Even though we should not encourage disobedience to court order, I just wonder why a very urgent case like this can not be heard and decided within days.

When you adjourn hearing to February 22,you then give judgement in March, when the elections would have been over and votes bought with old notes.

Even if votes are bought with new notes, the limited availability would ensure limited vote buying.

The Supreme Court should stop ridiculing itself by dinning with corrupt politicians!

So all the times he flaunted the orders of the supreme court why did you not hold him for contempt. Abeg rest. He has given a new policy and the CBN has its independence in implementation of monetary policies. All those piled money will be used to wipe our ass.

You people are just wailing unnecessarily.

How and why is Hope Uzodinma the Governor of Imo State?

Why is Ahmed Lawan the APC senatorial candidate for Yobe North?

Where is Nnamdi Kanu?

How and why is Godswill Akpabio the APC senatorial candidate in Akwa Ibom?

When you're done answering those few questions, then let's discuss about the Supreme Court and the naira today.

Have we ever known Buhari to be one to obey court order?

The NA should start impeachment proceedings if they think any better.

Your president was enthroned by the laws of Nigeria landscape and the supreme court is the custodian of that law, simplicita.

The supreme court chief Justice swear in the president otherwise he can not assume the position of president of the Nigerian landscape. As he is there now choosing which law to obey and which ones not to obey, just imagine that all other Nigerians with power positions choose what laws to obey or otherwise.

What will the Nigerian landscape looks like? Anarchy, everybody to his own laws.

Buhari is never a democratic person probably because of low level of education or his awkward choice of ways to life because he has gone through the Nigerian army with relevant courses and seminars to enlighten and broaden his view of life and the associated laws. He has been making the wrong decisions based on wrong choices and deviated perceptions. He is not a fitting person for the Nigerian presidency of 2020s. He can not change.

Though, one would wonder if his pronouncements and policy directives have sincere motives for the good of Nigerian people or otherwise. We only pray that Nigerians will be spared of such deviant personality in the years to come. His pronouncements has visited untold hardship on the Nigerian people.
