No pities..

If our hospitals were working here in Nigeria, they wouldn't be facing this in the UK.

A lesson to all our politicians

Even then, getting an organ in working countries like the UK is not easy

The worst part is that their defense lawyer told the judge that Nigerians treat each other as family and it is common for non related individuals to donate organs to fellow “community members “ 😂

Insanity.

Rightfully So. An organ isn’t an Orange. It doesn’t grow on trees.

Sonia is a British citizen and was already on the transplant list and would have received one as soon as it got to her turn. She’s not more deserving than the people on that list. That her criminal parents decided to steal a kidney or even both kidneys is on them.

The Ekweremadus will be cooling off in the pokey for a very very long time. Out of what would have been an unpleasant ordeal for the victim, God has picked his call because the guy's asylum claim and approval will be automatic. From being a street trader in Lagos to being a British citizen in few years.

Typical 9ja mentality, especially when we have money, why donate kidney when you can pay another person for one

Sincerely in my heart or hearts, I am convinced the boy is a user, and has no honor. But then if Ekweremadus were not trying to take advantage of what they perceived(wrongly) as naivety, they wouldn't be in this mess.
There are actual black market for organs all over the world and I am sure they know this. Expensive but my guess is that choosing this boy is a cheaper option. If that's the case, they have themselves to blame, how can you have that number of properties and assets n wealth.
Like I say the boy MAY meet his waterloo at some point in life, that's left for grace and karma to decide. But for now, if the boy no misbehave Ekweremadu would still have done something wrong. So let the law judge accordingly
Typical and wicked user like Ekwremadus… we told you that they were going to prison… because they wanted to harvest free kidney by trick.. OBT.

They had wanted to obtain free kidney by trick and would later dump the guy

It's your generation that won't end well... It's like you don't under the meaning of being found guilty and if one checkz well now you're a full time graduate. Infact, you're very stupid for that useless comment of yours. Why don't you go and donate your useless kidney to them. Stupid and useless Nigerian.

It's all politics of Nigeria exported to GB.
Who is the Nigerian who will argue that the boy didn't know that he was being taken abroad to have him donate his kidney for the daughter of the Ekweremadus?
Now the daughter who is suffering kidney disease is also put on trial, her kidney issue not attended to. What a world of politics mixed up with justice.
Ekweremadu and Saraki took Buhari unawares and took leadership of the Senate in 2015.

No doubt. The young man is aware of the kidney donation. Did Ekweremadu follow the right channel?
The UK government will grant the young man asylum. And will be strongly advised not to come to Nigeria again , for his safety.
It is a pity that their daughter is passing through all that . As a father I will likely do the same for any of my kids.

And lastly , you said , it is all politics exported by Nigerian government to the UK. That's a lame excuse. There are guidance for kidney donation in the UK. And they broke the law. And they should face the music.

UK SHOULD JUST GO AND HAVE SEVERAL SITS.

ORGAN TRAFFICKING, AS IF THEY BROUGHT AN ORGAN.

I THOUGHT THE CLAIMANT WAS 15 YEARS, HOW DID HE GET TO 21 YEARS?

IF HE CAN LIE ABOUT BASIC THING AS HIS AGE, I DONT BELIEVE ANY STORY COMING OUT OF HIS DESPERATE MOUTH.

LAWS HAVE TO MAKE SENSE, BE REASONABLE AND RATIONAL.

IN THIS CASE THE UK APPLICATION OF THE LAW IS UNREASONABLE, YOU ARE FINDING HIM GUILTY BASED ON MORAL STANDARD THAT PAYMENT TO ORGAN DONOR VIOLATES UK LAW.

YET THE SAME UK GOVERNMENT WONT DO THE ORAGN TRANSPLANT FOR FREE.

THE SAME UK HAVE PUT THE EKWEREMADU THROUGH A VERY EXPENSIVE LEGAL PROCESS WHICH ALSO IS NOT FOR FREE.

IN NIGERIA, PEOPLE EXPECT TO RECIEVE WEALTHY PAYMENT FOR THEIR ORGAN, AS CONSENTING ADULT.

RATHER THAN HOLD EKWEREMADU AND HIS SICK DAUGHTER FOR NEARLY ONE YEAR AND MILKING THEM FIANANCIALLY WITH HOTEL BILLS, LEGAL BILLS AND MEDICAL BILLS, THE RIGHT THING WAS TO DEPORT THEM AND BAN THEM FROM REENTERING THE UK.

ALL THIS POLITICAL GRAND-STANDING OF A COLONISER IS UNBECOMING.

Do you know , how many people are on waiting list in the UK for kidney transplant? And you expect them to do it for free ..

One thing that baffles me with we Nigerians is the level of Stockholm syndrome the poor masses are suffering from.

Ekweremadu is a lawyer and has been a senator for the past 20 years and I read somewhere that he helped craft a law in the senate that prohibits trafficking in human organs.

He procured a false passport for the 21 year old man whose age was falsely stated as 41 on the passport, he lied that the man was a relative and I read in the British press today that the Ekweremadu 's did not even ask their own family members to donate the kidney and he was going to pay the UK Doctor's £80,000 to remove the boys kidney and put it into his daughter and was going to pay the boy £7,000.

When the boy was found to not be a match, him and his wife made their way towards Turkey to look for another donor but they were arrested at the airport by British Police.

Ekweremadu is no victim and the question is why he, his wife or his other children did not volunteer one of their own kidneys to their daughter / sister ?

They were willing to pay £80,000 to save their daughters life but they felt the poor boys kidney was only worth £7,000 even though all operations are 50/50 and the boy may die in the process.

Ekweremadu should just pray that he does not get a life sentence 'cos the prosecution has confirmed that the maximum sentence in the UK for organ harvesting is life imprisonment and although life sentences for crimes that are not murder are rare in the UK, one thing that UK judges do well is to use someone as an example to deter others in such topical cases in the UK especially since the Ekweremadu's are the first to be convicted in the UK for organ harvesting / trafficking.

On another note, I'm baffled that Nigerians have very short memories at times and have forgotten that the daughter that needs the kidney actually damaged her own kidneys by using bleaching cream as shown inn the photo below. ?

Why did Ekweremadu and his wife not call their daughter to order once they started seeing signs that she was bleaching her skin.

The daughter looks darker now as is to be expected since she will have stopped using the bleaching cream but it is said that one should train his or her child so that you will have rest in future.

What baffles me about our mindset in Nigeria is that we feel that we are special and that best practices from civilized countries can be ignored by Nigeria 'cos such best practices do not apply to us because Nigeria is that special ?

What did Boris Johnson even do that warranted him being kicked out as prime minister (a charge led by members of his own party and a cabinet he appointed).

He attended a party in downing street where he both works and lives during lock down and he was adjudged to have lied about it and for just misleading parliament he was removed as prime minister and his appearance on televised camera at yesterdays party-gate enquiry in parliament where he had to hold the Bible and swear under oath to tell the truth about the lockdown parties means that if he is found guilty of lying, though he may not go to jail, 'cos the enquiry is not a proper court, it may mark the end of his political career.

Don't forget that the former chairman of the UK Conservative Party - Renowned author Jeffrey Archer - once went to jail for 4 years for Perjury - lying under oath in a case he brought against a tabloid newspaper that exposed that he slept with a prostitute and he took them to court and was found guilty of lying under oath in court and he was jailed for 4 years and actually spent 2 years in prison - 'cos he actually slept with the prostitute and this was not his crime. His crime was lying about it in court under oath and Jeffrey Archer was a top member of the British establishment at the time he was jailed for just lying in court and being a top member of the British establishment could not save him from jail time. !!!

He was jailed for lying in court 14 years earlier !!!!!

On 19 July 2001, Jeffrey Archer was found guilty of perjury and perverting the course of justice at a 1987 trial in a court case he had brought against the tabloids. He was sentenced to four years' imprisonment.

Jeffrey Archer's mother had died shortly before he was sentenced and he was released from prison just for 1 day to attend his Mums funeral.

Until we in Nigeria start demanding, expecting and holding the kleptocratic Nigerian politicians to the same high standards that civilised countries use to judge their politicians, we may not see a good Nigeria in our lifetime.

And whilst we are at it, we should all gang up and condemn criminality whenever we find it in our unrepentantly greed politicians because without this critical mass of people CONSTANTLY and RELENTLESSLY dragging our heartless politicians for their wrong doings, Nigeria becoming good may be an impossible pipe dream if things are allowed to continue like it currently is.

We can NOT plant corn and expect to harvest bananas.

Its about time in Nigeria that we start copying best practices from around the civilized world so that we can give our children a fighting chance in life.

The alternative if we do nothing is to see ourselves as second class citizens / slaves / servants to these heartless Nigerian politicians, their wives and children and their hangers on.
