ArewaNorth:It's obvious you are a product of bad education system in Nigeria and a believer of the primitive awolowo socialist idiology MDGs is the only standard way to judge the impact of governance on its people... and no governor has improved the life of its people like Peter Obi....since 1999 I dare you again outside Lagos pick any south west governor against ikpeazu the worth in the south east ....for any project you name from any governor in the south west outside Lagos I would name 3 from ikpeazu ....the worst from South east . U dare take up this challenge ? |

justtoodark: Mouth kee. No tribe in Nigeria will suffer what the lgbos have passed through and be as successful as they are. It's fact not mouth. Take a trip to lgbo villages and you will testify. Places that was flat during the war without policies made to put lgbos in perpetual poverty. Have you wondered why Nigeria keep going down gradually gradually since after the war despite all effort. |

Strategy that has left Nigeria without electricity, after over 60 yrs of independence. Strategy that has left the North with over 2 million out of school children?. Strategy that has left the Southwest in second place on the poverty index rankings after over 62 years of strategical alliance with the North( poverty capital of Nigeria). Strategy of thuggery and ballot box snatching. Strategy of ethnic profiling in a multiethnic country. Strategy of bigotry and religious politicisation. Strategy of looting and insane wealth accumulations. People that speak of glowingly of the same strategy that has kept Nigeria in the doldrums of civilization and development certainly are very dull and have never stepped foot outside our shores. We deserve better. I'm Obidient because Obi represents a new and better Nigeria. Right from party politics to governance and character to capacity, the man ticks all the positive boxes. Wake up and smell the coffee. Olodo Acekidc4: |

It appears that Nairaland is primarily populated by individuals with subpar education. I find it difficult to understand how someone who is reasonable could read a statement and then proceed to make nonsensical comments. It seems that individuals on this platform engage in political discussions without considering sound reasoning. It is appalling to witness someone attempt to criticize the Igbos by defending the Nigerian government. I am curious to know if there is anything that this government has done to instill confidence in its citizens. Can you mention just 3 things that this government has accomplished that benefits you or your family? Despite the evident suffering and poverty, people still take to this platform to defend the government. Rather than addressing issues directly, people here seem to display hatred towards particular ethnic groups. Even those who don't comprehend the original statement quickly jump in to denounce it simply because of the author's presumed ethnic background. When you don't align with their beliefs, they are quick to label you as Igbo. Rather than accepting the truth, they resort to meaningless rhetoric.

princeemma69: Below is the recent poverty index ; Below is the most recent poverty stats with link for confirmation ; Here are the comprehensive stats twisted by the Op hence he omitted Lagos from the Table. 133 million Nigerians poor – NBS THE National Bureau of Statistics, NBS yesterday said that 133 million (63 per cent) Nigerians are suffering from multidimensional poverty, with children constituting more than half of poor people in the country. This means that two (2) out of every three (3) Nigerians are poor and experience just over one-quarter of all possible deprivations in terms of health, education, living standards, and work and shocks. The NBS disclosed this in the 2022 Multidimensional Poverty Index, MPI, Report launched on Thursday in Abuja. The MPI is the result of the 2022 Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) Survey carried out by NBS and development partners. The survey was a collaborative effort between the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the National Social Safety-Nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI). A breakdown of the dimensions of poverty used for the MPI includes: Nutrition, Food insecurity, Time to healthcare, School attendance, Years of schooling and School lag. Others are Water, Water reliability, Sanitation, Housing materials, Cooking fuel, Assets, Unemployment, Underemployment, Security shock Among other things the report showed that 65% of poor people—86 million—live in the North, while 35%—nearly 47 million— live in the South.
