Hearing aid is worst, i wore it once and the sound lasted for weeks in my ears. One specialist told me about a type of hearing aid that can produce a certain sound to mask the one in my ears but he mentioned more than a million naira. Is true like i said earlier that this happened in 2015 and honestly, i did not leave it to fate, i tried every way i'm capable and even borrowed some huge amount to treat this but its looking like there will be no solution.

My only option is to stop hearing completely if there is a way because i don't have the financial chest to pursue this problem anylonger.

Can you get a noise canceling earpiece that can help prevent the noise from entering your ears.

Many commonly used drugs have ototoxicity(ability to cause damage to the ear) as their side/adverse effects, depending on the dosage, duration of intake and the individual's genetic predisposition.

Below are some of the classes of drugs that are ototoxic and their common examples:

*Aminoglycosides(antibiotics): eg Gentamicin, etc

*Macrolides(Antibiotics): eg Erythromycin, etc

*Glycopeptide(Antibiotics): eg Vancomycin, etc

*Antimalarials: eg-Quinine, etc

*Chemotherapeutic Agents(Anti-cancer drugs): eg; Cisplatin, etc

*Analgesics(Painkillers): Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Cataflam(Diclofenac), etc

*Diuretics: eg; Frusemide(Lasix), etc.

This list is not exhaustive.
I suspect he was given either Gentamicin or Vancomycin(antibiotics) during the course of his admission.

By the way OP, if you successfully remove your hearing nerves, you would be essentially damaging your hearing sense forever o. No chance of future repair should fortune smile on you such that you could afford the cost. So think am well.

That is what i actually want. I don't have a problem with been deaf, but its the noise that is killing me slowly. I don't want to hear anything again till i die, if i'm asked to choose one from the two problems, i will choose the deafness to stay and the noise to go, atleast i mastered the art of reading lips and can communicate in sign language very well

The problems you're experiencing(Tinnitus, Hyperacusis--hypersensitivity to sounds, Hearing loss) are all symptoms of drug-induced hearing loss.

In reality, drug-induced hearing loss is usually very challenging to treat and almost always permanent.

The treatment advice the ENT specialists discussed with you are unfortunately your only options.

These includes use of Amplification devices, Assistive listening devices, and most importantly Cochlear implantation.

These will cost you a lot of money and some travels.

I believe your focus should be on how to raise money to be able to go for any of these, especially cochlear implant.

The Betahistine you've have been taken may address vertigo, if any, but won't reverse the hearing deficit, as your cochlear is already damage.
Hearing devices and cochlear implants are the only available options you should work on.

I think my only escape route is to remove a nerve that can silence everything in my head. I can't explain the noise level in my head right now cos one may not believe it.

since this problem started, i have spent more than enough, even men of God collected a huge share from me. The drugs i was taken initially costs me almost 10k every month. As i'm typing this, i'm owning people close to 200k and all the money went into this.
I promise myself never to treat this problem again untill i was tortured and the level of my pains increased. All i need now is a one time solution to focus on, and i believe that should be to remove my all my hearing nerves to have rest.

Can nigerian doctors be able to remove my auditory nerves?
How much will it cost me?

I can talk very well and clearly but mostly read lips of the speaker to understand what the person is saying. i can communicate in sign language too.

Surgical operations to have access to and section it is a major one and will be expensive too.
The money could be better used to procure a good hearing device or saved for a cochlear implant.
Again, damage to the nerve would make any future implant use impossible.
I doubt if any doctor would encourage that.

To the best of my knowledge, there has never been an improvement since this problem started, its rather getting worse.

I would have long go for the surgery if not for cost involved. The specialist told me that it is done outside the country only. The side effects were much according to him but if you take away this noise in my ears and allow me live for just one year, i will be ok. I can't kill myself, never, but death is nothing compared to what is happening to me

I have heard stories of people approaching charities that are interested in the area of their challenges and get help through them. I will suggest you find charities interested in ENT challenges in your spare time, they may be able to sponsor your treatment.

A way to approach this is to read up on each of these organizations and what kind of help they render. Talk to the specialist managing your situation to give you referral to a doctor in the country where this organizations approach. Once you have a doctor who reviews your file, he or she can talk about the treatment plan and that you approach the NGO with. The doctor could approach the NGO on your behalf as well.

I guess it might not help truly since my little research on tinnitus states that the sound sometimes is not external. It is still worth trying.
