I also suffer from Tinnitus but the difference is that mine is on only my right ear...when I am in a very quiet room my right ear keeps producing some sounds...that sometimes makes it hard for me to listen or hear an outside noise properly. This one ear deafness and strange sounds from d ear only happens when I am in a very quiet place or room. It’s been months i started experiencing it and it doesn’t seem like it will stop. I browsed the internet and I found no remedy to it..in fact the internet said it will later stop on it’s own.

The noise Na only u wey carry the ear dey hear and feel am...nobody can hear d annoying sound coming from that ear. It all started one evening in my room last year October till now the noise hasn’t stopped. I just pray it doesn’t become something too serious as that of OPs own. I hear very well with both ears outside but when in a very quiet room the sound starts on my right ear making hearing on that ear difficult. Hmmm
Pls be careful with the other ear and follow up with the problem. I can't say more than this

Humble greetings fam!

I will like to know if its possible to remove my auditory nerve or anything that can make me to stop hearing completely. I suffered a strange kind of hearing loss that comes with another condition called tinnitus

It happened since 2015 when i was admitted in a teaching hospital(doctors told me that my problem was typhoid) and treated for months. When i was about to discharged, i noticed that one of my ears was not functional which i complained immediately to the docs there told me that my condition was critical and was consequently administered hard drugs which is clearly the cause of my partial deafness and was given an appointment in 2weeks time to follow up about the new ailment. I came back home using only one ear.

After about 5days at home, i enter okada to the use an atm in town, upon reaching the bank, i joined the atm line to made my withdrawal, it was there that an old friend started talking to me that i discovered that both my ears were not functional.

Have you asked if a hearing aid implantation will help your situation? Explore alternative options first.

I really feel for you. Is very difficult for anybody to understand your pains. I'm also a victim. I have been managing the condition for over 13 years. I got sick of typhoid and malaria and I was treated with some kind of drugs without due evaluation and that's what result to my right ear pairing. I learned to manage the situation after alot of frustrations. I believe I have visited some of the best ENT specialist in this country all to no avail. But I decided to take it upon myself and manage the situation. Mine is a my right ear but the discomfort has alot of ripple effects on my entire body system, I have to learn how to walk normal again, talk proper (not too loud or low) and adjust myself to listening. I was offered at irrua specialist hospital and opportunity to have the right ear destroy so that the noise will stop but I refuse, because I believe one day I will certainly get a solution for it. For now I hardly remember the condition because so many activities have occupied my mind. One thing I master first, is if I I'm aware you will talk to me, I focus on your mouth so that I can easily pick the word from your mouth rather than relying on my ear to do it. My eyes now have dual functioning (hearing and sighting). You are not alone brother. Please leave alcohol and try to develop yourself and you will certainly overcome it.

Ever since the very first time I experienced a 2-day wild tinnitus after returning home from a club cos I was seated next to a blaring speaker, i stopped joking with my ears.

I also feel what contributed to my tinnitus is that I have a very loud voice...so loud and sharp...naturally loud voice.
Sometimes when I laff the laff dey up to 10000decibels.

Another one I feel contributes..I may not be so sure;cold water addict...drinking very chilled water can cause tinnitus. This very point is my own opinion and it can be countered medically and otherwise. I am a cold water addict.

God help me...tinnitus don deal with me. I can’t even have a quiet time in my room with my right ear producing one annoying sound repeatedly like that. I can’t even eavesdrop again in peace

There was a time I wear one for less than an hour and nearly went mad. I don't want to reply those suggesting hearing aids cos they don't know what is happening inside my head. If I perceive noise for just one minute, it will stay in my head for days. This I hate sound and that is one of the reasons I move to the village

That is what i actually want. I don't have a problem with been deaf, but its the noise that is killing me slowly. I don't want to hear anything again till i die, if i'm asked to choose one from the two problems, i will choose the deafness to stay and the noise to go, atleast i mastered the art of reading lips and can communicate in sign language very well

This is quite heartbreaking. I can't even imagine the trauma you're passing through, but I pray The Divine Healer to perform the impossible miracle in your life. He's our Maker and have the spare parts of our body.

I almost fell victim once and I remember sharing my experience in a post here on Nairaland, how that God used the hospital Pharmacist to disuade me from purchasing one of the antibiotics the doctor prescribed for me in a Federal Medical Center. She gave me an option of a less stronger drug and I purchased it without even thinking twice. And I was very ok after using it and never had the need of going back to the hospital for the same problem.

I don't even know what to tell you than to encourage you to keep hope alive. There must be a way out of this problem somehow. Solution must come. Don't you ever give up, ok?

Sorry please.

Sometimes these things happen and there isn't much you can do about it. When it first started, I didn't like it but I guess I was distracted by other things then. Now, I don't pay attention much to it. Almost like I have gotten used to it somehow. undecided

Sorry brother.

My own is getting to 8years now, I always try to learn how to leave with it but my condition is a bit different. My own tinnitus I learnt today is going concurrently with hyperacusis. Is that hyperacusis that is my major worry. I can handle the tinnitus but this one is beyond me

kpakpakpa. The problem you described here is so sad and can't honestly find proper way to console you. You are the one who wears the shoe and who knows where it pinches. However, my single piece of advice to you is to adopt a positive and hopeful outlook to the whole issue. Maintain calm. I know this can be difficult and believe good thing can come your way. The money you think you don't have can be volunteered by someone generous. Be prayerful, not visiting men of God. Cry your heart out to God and believe he can send succour and needed help your way. Don't lose hope, don't despair. Keep praying and keep believing.

@Kpakpakpa and others, help is on the way, ensure to carefully read my entire writeup.

Please and please don't remove that Auditory nerves o. shocked shocked Regardless of the age of your tinnitus, you can still relieve the symptoms from 10-100%. Yes, all and you'll have a blissful night sleep. Mercy Johnson also made a great mistake by removing her Thyroid gland. Anything and everything on this planet can be CURED, except death. Yes! I will always stand by that!

Don't let the some of the failings of modern medicine condemn you to a life of unwanted noise.

If your tinnitus is subjective (i.e caused by noise, ear infection, drugs, or other unknown cause etc) congrats you're on your way to a swift healing.

But if it's objective that is, the Doctor or anyone else can ear it, then you may want to check for heart conditions and other issues.

Let me repeat, TINNITUS, can be CURED 100%, I'm a living testimony and others who've tried the method below.

First off, you should up your Zinc intake from both natural and pills. For naturals, eat beef liver (one of the best superfood on the planet!), Fishes etc. For supplements, go to a big pharmacy and ask for Zinc (50-100mg). Then take it everyday.

You know why you should take Zinc?
The ear is one of the organs with the largest concentration of Zinc in the body. Depletion of Zinc causes tinnitus, and increasing it's intake helps relieve tinnitus resulting from other means including Zinc depletion.

Also, excess Zinc would be safely disposed off by the body. This should be combined with the second method.

The second method will blow your mind off, and it's the most effective!
The answer is good, old Onion or it's cousin garlic. These two are the most potent remedy we know to fight Tinnitus and ear infections to the core.

Yes, #100 worth of onion or garlic maybe all it takes to free you from this condition forever. Don't let anyone consign you to a life of misery because they believe it's incurable.

Don't be scared. You can use this in three ways, however, before use, ask someone to check your ear drums with a flashlight, if it's not perforated then continue;

1. Remove the old back, cut the onion, grate it, and squeeze the juice. Then with a teaspoon, bend and expose the affect ear upwards and put two drops in it, and cover it with cotton wool to retain the juice inside. It might feel cold, but your body will adjust to it. Change every 6-8 hours. Though it's best done in the night.

2. Cut the onion in ring shapes, take one ring and insert into the ear, with the other part of the ring sticking out, then go to sleep.

3. Put the onion in a hot, dry pot, and roast for 2 mins. Thereafter, you remove from the fire. Onion gets heated easily, so you may want to use a very clean cloth. Cut in half, and wrap with a clean cloth. Then take it close to the affected ear and let the steam penetrate the ear.

Use it consistently, and your Tinnitus will go away in no time.

If you prefer garlic, I'll give you it's formula too.

For everyone suffering from Tinnitus, start the aforementioned process ASAP, and get total relief from Tinnitus. Tried and tested by me and others.

There are onion oil and garlic oils in the market.

Can he use those?

Kpakpakpa. This also implies that a mistake during surgery could impair your locomotor.
ChybuzzDD:

Cutting/removing the nerve(Neurectomy) is not that simple. The Auditory nerve, in combination with the Vestibular nerve(that maintains balance/equilibrium) makes up the 8th cranial nerve which runs just beneath the brain within the cranial cavity and as well as within the cranial bone.

Surgical operations to have access to and section it is a major one and will be expensive too.
The money could be better used to procure a good hearing device or saved for a cochlear implant.
Again, damage to the nerve would make any future implant use impossible.
I doubt if any doctor would encourage that.

Now i happened to be in an unpleasant situation last twoweeks and some bad guys beat me up, i don't know the kind of evil spirit that entered them but they focused on slapping me on both ears. For some days now, i'm hearing heavy sounds in my ears like a trucks motor horn, gunshots, car break that is about to have accident etc

Even alcohol can not make me sleep for 5hrs now before i will wake up.

That is why i'm looking for a way to stop hearing completely, i'm going mad right now and i don't know what to do.

The drugs i was supposed to be taken is not of my reach because it is very cost and you can't get it near me unless i send for it in abj or jos, better still lagos.

I want to stop hearing completely.

Try using sound blocking head phones bro, especially when you go outside

Your comments sound somewhat insensitive. If you've had tinnitus, then thank your God because it wasn't serious enough that you had to research and Goggle it, because then you'd have learnt that tinnitus often go hand in hand with hearing impairment. Also thank your God your tinnitus wasn't serious enough that you had to go to the hospital, because then you'd have learned there are prescriptions to treat tinnitus. I wonder what kind of tinnitus you had.
