It has nothing to do with illiteracy, there are people who are fully literate (myself included) but who prefer to use paper recharge cards.

My main reason for using paper recharge cards is because I want to support the businesses of recharge card vendors

Even with cashless system in western world, peeps still use cash for goodies, it's choice...
If cashless system is grounded here, I don't see where anything that has to do with bills will have many people doing it with cash...

If you care to know too, most of the VTUs you buy through online are from vendors like paper recharge card too, don't bring emotion here...

Where literacy comes in; is on cashless system being in place. And aside from technological glitch from communication coys, literacy is one major issue cashless system suffers from..

You that buy paper recharge card, gather 100 folks of yours and show me 90 out of them that buys paper recharge card.

100 of peeps from rural areas
100 of bus conductors

100 of artisans

Gen Y and Gen Z don't use paper recharge card.
