A follow-up to: Onaiyekan: It Makes No Sense To Swear In 'riggers' Whose Cases Are In Court

Dear daddy Onaiyekan, you know we all respect you a lot, but your political comments are becoming unstatesmanlike.

A statesman who doubles as a Man of God should strive to be fair to all. You didn’t say the same thing when Obasanjo, Yar’Adua, Jonathan and Buhari were all sworn in as Presidents when their cases were still before the courts.

You have chosen to single out this President- Elect @officialABAT this time around because the candidate you and your other religious brethren openly supported lost the election and you all feel humiliated and embarrassed. All issues raised against the victory of @officialABAT in court now (whether it is 25% votes in FCT or the fake drug issue, etc), are not different from issues raised against previous Presidents-elect because basically the complaints have always been that the declared victor did not win the election fair and square or was not qualified to contest the election. No disqualifying issue against a candidate can be greater than other disqualifying issues since a single issue can decide a case against a President-elect.

So, why all the fuse now? It has always been our electoral template since 1999 for the declared winners to be sworn into office in order TO AVOID A VACUUM and not to foist an unconstitutional contraption on the system whist the cases are in court.

My dear daddy, may I respectfully advise that going forward, you and your brethren may consider stepping back from the deep and murky waters of politics and desist from descending into the arena of political conflicts where your children in your congregations find themselves on different sides of political divides, so it would be unfair to them for you to openly take sides. The embarrassment to the Body of Christ is getting too much and no politician is worth dragging this dignified body into unnecessary political controversy. Is this too much to ask, daddy?

The just concluded general elections have exposed the ignorance of "exposed" Nigerians regarding the organisation of society.

The law abhors vacuum. The constitution prohibits a leadership lacuna.

The position of the law is that a candidate who is declared elected by INEC is constitutionally qualified to occupy the office he was elected into until a court of competent jurisdiction declares otherwise.

The timeline set by the law for determination of election petition by the election tribunal is 180 days from the date of filing the petition.

The court has to carefully scrutinize the prayers of the parties and avoid reaching a decision per incuriam . The Labour Party, the PDP and their candidates filed their respective petitions on the last day of the 21 days stipulated by law to avoid mistakes. They made use of their complete 21 days to avoid rush and to present well researched and compelling arguments.

The Tribunal is obliged to deliver judgment after it carefully exhausts its 180 days to avoid error. Don't pressure the court!

The Bishop may not have put it appropriately, IMO It will be unprecedented and chaotic if swearing is delayed I thinks it’s late.

The election tribunal should have been done with by now before the swearing in.

No need to put the Nation under a cloud in the aftermath of the elections.

I believe PBAT will address this anomaly so that we can continue rebuilding the country

Keyamo is a spoilt child, him and Dino should be friends.

Festus keyamo has been sent to attack the honourable clergyman. You are no more interested in providing jobs for Nigerians. You are now using looted funds to go fishing in the USA. You are now Apc's defence dog. What can nake a man live such confused and hopeless life

. Your dreams and that of your Parry Apc is to have only people who support your wickedness like in the days of the Nazi era.

You are against protest, you have choked the life out of the media houses with fines, you have arrested dissentibg forces while your party and masters pepetrate evil upon Nigerians.

Anyone against the corruption and nepotism, rascality, fraud is labelled a PO loser. That will not stop anyone from calling your wicked Acts in public.

There is time for everything. Your time will come and go festus
Today you have secured your house worth over 400milion Dollars after been unproductive in your Ministry..
You are a shameless man

God can't be mocked! This election has clearly shown we have more gods of men than men of God in Nigeria! All christians can't support a candidate just because he's one of us; we have other units of measure outside religion and these god's of men should know that!

Keyamo is already relishing the prospect of another 4years as a Minister, hence anything against his corrupt president select is rebuffed with fire, brimstone and everything useable. Greedy people, they want to continue being in the government at the detriment of the citizens.
He's is a Minister but I don't know what he ministers. Everyday he's involved in one altercation or the other, very dirty altercations.

Since early 90s I started listening to Fela's song I don't give more attention to our men of God.

The worst was what happened during GEJ regime that pastor jet was turned to ammunition carriers.

Just another Conman masquerading as man of God.
He's pained because his religious fanatical candidate lost.
Pan-dora Obi was in election cases while running as Governor twice, he was sworn in while the cases were still in court.
Now they want to change the rules. Bast@rd ret-ards
These religious fanatics with their hypocrisy. Pathetic .
