Basic123: Igbos are more enterprising!!! They have a culture of trading, are aggressive in engaging in it and dominate small/import trades. Yorubas are more corporatising!!! They have a culture of building professional businesses, quietly doing so and dominate majority of industries in Nigeria. A classic example is if you look at the corner-shop industry (which Nigerians erroneously call "Supermarket". Igbos dominate ownership of such shops across the country, with the shop-owner quietly sitting in his shop with his apprentices serving customers. But when you look at Supermarket chains, the professionally-ran ones, Yorubas dominate. Shoprite Nigeria, Justrite, Price Pointe, Principally and Addide are all owned by Yorubas. Grand Square is the only professionally-run Supermarket owned by an Igbo. |

Viraltrends123: No mind am. Because of his "Group Economics" degree from some state poly, he is better at valuation of worth of people than the likes of Bloomberg and Forbes. Once he sees a person visits London 10 times a year, can buy 400 Pink Moet bottles, has the biggest mansion in his village and has a Rolls-Royce, then he is a multi-billionaire and richer than Elon Musk according to his lectures in "Group Economics". Chest-beating analysis! "Group Economics" gurus! 3 Likes |

Viraltrends123: Shut up jor! He has more than one businesses and he is listed in LONDON for god sake. That should be enough evidence for you to know he is richer than Mark Zuckerberg, who has only one business and it is not even listed in London. You are an economic illiterate if you don't go and get your own degree in "Group Economics" from some SE state poly. |

Bestmanfornow: The drugs you are on is on a different level. If Allen Onyema sees just $200m, he would be dancing like a mad man in Onitsha market. You are so ignorant to not even know it was Otedola that gave Elumelu majority of the money to buy UBA. 2 Likes |

ariesbull: Hey! "Group Economics" graduate is telling us Nigerians and Nigeria is better than US and Americans because Nigerians remit $1b per annum! E no go better for all these politicians that looted money that should have gone into our education system! May God punish them and their entire lineage for making us be generating "intellectuals" like ariesbull, who would call others economic illiterates. |
Re: Ogun State: Emerging Industrial Hub Of Nigeria (Pictures) by Gamesmart: 2:40pm On Dec 02, 2023 |
ariesbull: You for get sense pass this na if you attended that one. They don't offer a degree in "Group Economics" at that poly. |
Re: Ogun State: Emerging Industrial Hub Of Nigeria (Pictures) by Gamesmart: 2:52pm On Dec 02, 2023 |
ariesbull: Illiterate, let me educate you on how to read statistical figures. Firstly, "Group Economics" graduate, your diagram is of absolute figures, not percentages. Absolute figures would be affected by population size. I know they did not teach that in your "Group Economics" classes. FACT 1: There are more people living in SW than SE. FACT 2: There are more people who are non-Yorubas living in SW than non-Igbos living in SE. FACT 3: Majority of poor people would be the hustlers who came for green pastures, to hustle, have not yet found their feet and probably lack a support network. So, if you had been well-educated when studying "Group Economics" at your state poly, you would have had the brains to know that a more populated region, where there are lots of migrants coming to hustle in foreign lands, would have higher volumes of poor people than places where people are living in their home surroundings; and the non-indigenes would form majority of this poor group. Who are the poor selling gala in Lagos traffic? What states are they from? All that said, it does not show how Anambra is keeping money at home, according to your "Group Economics", because "95% of the industries is locally owned". Anambra is a poorer state than virtually all the states in the SW. Even Edo state is more economically viable. Limited economic prospects has pushed many young Igbos out of SE to find greener pastures in other parts of Nigeria and even other third world countries like Gabon. No one goes to SE from other tribes to look for greener pastures. 2 Likes |

The phrase “group economics” refers to a collective of people who pool their finances to reach a common goal that couldn't have been accomplished otherwise. |
