There was this church at the back of my house fence with almost 4 speakers but population of 20 members or so. The noice from the speakers are unbearable, I don't go church cos that's the only day I have to rest, to avoid being disturbed by their noise I always go to my friend's house at another street between the hour of 9am to 1pm. One day I decided to stop that rubbish. I borrow a big speaker from my friend placed it on the fence , face the church directly and start playing secular music on that fateful Sunday morning, noise start fighting noise cos I loud the music. After church I carry the speaker in. I was thinking they will stop but nothing changes, they still have another service on Monday morning but I don't have their time. On Wesday evening they start their madness again I have no choice than to connect the speaker to my DVD player and I slot in Adult film lock my door remove the other speakers inside then Increase the volume so every church member will feel it and walk out. Only for me to come back after one hour and the speaker wire has been disconnected and met the speaker fall to the back of my window, it's obvious someone did that. Na so the madness in me resurrect, I enter the church with force. The community landlords later settle it and the noise from the church stop. Few months after the church pack comot for our area

Mosque don't disturb with loud speakers. Mosque activities are always quiet and in very little time unless they have programs which isn't on a regular basis.

there is a special place in HELL FIRE for those preachers that carry LARGE BLUETOOTH SPEAKERS in the early morning to disturb sleepers.

I remember back then in Lagos when one bros came out on his balcony with his shotgun and shot at one preacher 5am in the morning. The bullet hit the public address system the fool was using to disturb, he was lucky.

finally, that noise is just another great reminder that you are in a poor people neighbourhood.

I wrote a petition to LASEPA about the noise pollution from the church right behind my house.
LASEPA officials came and issued a warning to the pastor.
The church abated, but started the noise after some months. I reported again and the pastor was issued a summon.
Since then the church stopped using loud speaker for their night vigil.
One day the pastor decreed loudly during their service that I would die in 21 days. I laughed. This is about 6 years now.
If you are disturbed by any church or mosque promptly report to LASEPA, attach your LASRAA ID, include address and telephone number.

Well, I live in PH. I have around 15 churches around me. This 'New Guy' was the only erring one.

One morning, they were just 8 in attendance for a 5AM service (yes, I walked in and counted). All the speakers were on and outside at 5 fucking AM..

Oh well, disconnected 2 and walked out. I was so pissed that morning I actually considered arson..

A few years ago, one of the branches of Winners Chapels opened on my street.

It didn't take long for them to set up 4 loud speakers outside their church. My quiet mornings became filled with their cries to God to have mercy on his people.

I struggle with insomia, and I'm a light sleeper. Imagine how the quality of my days deteriorated, waking up angry and possed, the gruntings from the Head Pastor's throat banginge ear drums every morning.

I confronted them on many occasions, but nothing seemed to work. I then had the brilliant idea to make a video recording and upload to my Twitter account. I tagged their Headquarters and their main account, asked them if Jesus was wrong to ask them to pray in cupboards, quiet and away from the neighbors.

I also went to all their social media pages and made an asshole of meself..... Gotta say this year, I noticed they have moved their speakers in... I rarely know when they have services, and my street is no quiet as Bleep again... Even on Sundays.

Have you had a similar issue? How did you solve it?

Had one nasty one with my neighbors tenants. I endured the first tenant the second one I told them if they try such rubbish again na direct court complain straight . That day they bahaved themselves till now , even my wife that keeps saying leave them acknowledged that if you keep quiet, you will just die in silence

I'm a Muslim, I can tell you no sane Muslim would call that blasphemy.
Islamically, aside calling for prayers which is usually not more than 5mins in most cases, every other activities must not be loud to the extent of disturbing the peace of the community. If you haven't talked to the Imam of the mosque, try discussing with him peacefully. If they persist, promptly report to LASEPA, attach your LASRAA ID, include address and telephone number.

T for Thanks 👍
Thanks for the advice, maybe I will try and discuss it with the Imam because we are really suffering in the compound.

My case ain't even religious disturbance but Individual based.

One very stupid guy that lives in my next compound in the upper flat of the story building has turned the environment to a daily excessive playing of music once light hits the transformer.

I stayed just beside him as I work online attending to people with so much background noise of music in my background everytime no matter how I close my window.

I have confronted him severally but his response has always bn loud music gives him hope and I should deal with it as he is not even in my compound.
He has the rubbish audacity cuz his landlord is abroad and the down tenant of his building hardly stay homies.

I am extremely fed up of his truancy.

I no know which Kain wicked bully God Nigerians dey serve.

Go to the ministry of environment yourself and lodge a complain that some people are constituting nuisance and making life unbearable for you due to the abnormal decibel of sound they are making. There are permissible sound levels in every society. Let them be invited and cautioned . This serves as evidence 1 , if they repeat it .

Write a letter to their headquarters and copy the I. G of police and DSS through their respective directors and commissioners of polices respectively.
If they still continue... God's evidence 2

Approach a magistrate court near you and ask to make a direct court complain against the pastor , person or imam of such place. They will issue a summon to you and a court balif will follow you to serve them. They will appear in court and justice will be served. There is law in nigeria . When you offend or commit a crime you will know to that Nigeria still uses 1914 law.
No one is above the law.

If they refuse to honour the court summon, good for you, na court contempt be that . Na go the pastor dey so... (He will be served by all means possible) if he now has two heads let him refuse to go to court. A bench warrant of arrest will be declared against him and if apprehended he will learn his lessons.

Or if you're scared, visit a human right complaint desk and lodge such complain or any reasonable radio programme to complain, the will hear it loud and clear to stop the nuisance.

If anyone must use sound system it has to be regulated. Otherwise let them use it at the highest frequency possible and lock the door on themselves and enjoy it alone. Bye

Nice idea there Op.

In my own case, I have accepted my fate. There is a Church directly in front of my house. Their itinerary is as follows:

1. Sunday Services 7:30am to 1pm

2. Wednesdays 8:30- 1pm

3. Fridays 7:30 to 11am

4. Saturdays Choir Practice 5pm-7pm.

5. Last Friday of the Month 11pm till Day Break( They invite Singers from sister churches and everything is on these Mega Speakers)

Between, I have at least 8 Churches withing a radius of 70m-100m of my house. So, I am used to them all.

Seems you live around Alagbole, Ajuwon , Akute axis .

Never been there before Sir! May be Akute sometimes in 1991!

Someone said there's Noises could be as a result of living in poor Neigbhohood may be yes but not all the times. From Adekunle Junction towards Yaba in Lagos, I can count up to 20-35 Churches now but back in the days, it was only the Catholic Church at Agnes Junction. So, me having 8 around me is just the way things are now.

We live with them all.

You can never see any mosque making noise day or midnight but churches, the instruments that musician doesn't have church have it, even in the midnight when everyone is sleeping, so annoying, federal government has to do something about it.

Mail and call LASEPA. You will have to call them a million times and follow up with them repeatedly. They'll eventually warn and possible sanction the noisy facility. But you have to be persistent and unrelenting. Possible have the "landlords' association" write them as well then have multiple people calling them about the same address.

These are things that should be handled at local government level, but no o. The lagos that pablo escobar built, all these go through alausa.

Absolute uselessness.
