Yeah. I wonder how a child would be comfortable reading how 40,000 people was wiped out because of 10 commandments

or snake biting everyone

or wild bears tearing children apart because of another man's head.

Seriously I would deal with any teacher that brings religion to my child.

Feel free to buy all the versions of bible and read them to your children AT HOME. You can do it with loud speaker if you want.
keep your religion at home.

May God rebuke you.

But trans men can strip dance front of children. May God don't overlook your offense

Lol. I read and watched a lot of stuff back then

Hey it was Disney.

A lot of fairytales including African ones have a lot of stuff . Uncomfortable stuff

Like the one from Mali where a hippo eats two people. Read it when i was ten in an anthology of african stories. Bought by my mamma.(She did not know! Lol. She saw children).

And then there are tales like Hansel und Gretel with the witch who eats little kids...
Hansel and Gretel is a fairy tale. A work of fiction though depicting gruesome acts but trying to teach kids not to take things from strangers cause those strangers might be doing so to deceive them meanwhile, hippos are known to attack humans not to talk of kids.
You can't use these points as your argument is invalid when you compare this with the Bible that contains events that shows people we worship commiting acts that today are considered crimes

Well the bible does depict things like INCEST and human sacrifice as well as cannibalism and hardcore violence.

Is that normal? wink

And there are other good things written in the box bible, why can't they focus on that?

Prophet Righteousness2 is on his way to spew his normal gibberish. Dude is just a clown who has little knowledge of the scriptures he quote up and down.
Many just realised the type of person Righteousness2 is from the thread he condemned the late Prophet T.B Joshua, many of us have always known that the said Righteousness2 is just an attention seeker with a holier than thou attitude. cheesy

You are an idiot and a Satan, if you ever believe TB Joshua was from the true Messiah... Yes he was worshipping something, but definitely not the Jesus of the Bible

Anyone who takes out time to read the Bible (Genesis to Revelations) objectively will not know what to believe anymore. It is not a coincidence that most Christians do not read the Bible. They rely on verses and chapters carefully picked out by pastors to push some certain egoistic agenda.

Personally I do not believe that there is a place where all races can co-exist peacefully. It doesn't help that those that propagate this fallacy have demonstrated through their actions and inactions that they barely see black people as humans whose importance lies only in that they are fortunate to inhabit areas with vast mineral resources.

That is why as Christians we should not be in the business of banning books.

The bible ban was as a result of Christians bringing and getting a law passed by banning pornographic books

The law was aimed at transgender people. Looks like it backfired.

Ban no books

They didn’t think far ahead enough. As they usually don’t. In their eagerness to oppress those who don’t believe in the Bible, they ended up passing a law that oppresses themselves too.
That’s why there’s nothing better than live and let live. Even the Bible says it. US conservatives want to be the Taliban so badly

nairalanda1:
Case of a law backfiring

The law was made to ban pornography and lgbtq materials.

The Bible is a great book but it is filled with depicitons of violence and strong language and seggs

That's why, speaking as a born again Christian, don't try to ban.books. Such bans affect everyone including your favourite books.

Instead teach your kids discernment.

I'm a Christian myself, and i think the laws were made out of a misguided attempt to protect children from sometimes extreme material that mutated into a witch hunting and book burning exercise

Indeed one thing i hate hearing is 'We must protect the children ' because while that is true ( there is a reason why we have ratings systems) taken to an extreme it can lead to things like the above.

Banning books always backfires. Whoever does it

Religious people caused it when they started banning porn and LGBTQ books.

Let’s be clear. Porn was never accessible to kids at school. This is the language they use to make it seem as if some inappropriate thing was sanctioned and being taught to kids in school.

What they banned was any teaching that made it so kids are more aware and accepting of other kids from other races, family structures and religions. It’s the classic “give a dog a band name so you can hang it” situation going on here. But the summary is that it’s white supremacy trying to hold onto power using religion as they always have.

They even started false teachings saying that slavery was a choice and black slaves were treated like family. They are banning accurate historical teachings that portray their forefathers as the true monsters they were and hoping they can keep their kids on the path to upholding white supremacy

Therefore He said: “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We will not have this man to reign over us.’ But bring here those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, and slay them before me.’ ”
Luke 19:12‭, ‬14‭, ‬27 NKJV

This outcry is not about the Bible as a book but about God, about Jesus Christ and what He says.
It is simply an extension of the above scripture. This is the World saying we would not have this God to reign over us. But just like the noble man in this parable, the King is coming and when he arrives, he will reward his servants, and executive judgement on those who would not have Him reign over their lives.

Whether we like it or not, the King will return.
The out cry of the world against Him will not deter nor prevent His reign.

If only they were really trying to protect kids though.it’s the hypocrisy for me. These law makers “trying to protect kids” have in their chambers child sex offenders who they wine and dine with. Who they campaign for. Their zombies chanting protect the kids go to the polls and vote for domestic abusers and child sex offenders.
It’s has never been anything but how to protect white supremacy. The minorities who vote for them align themselves with them because of homophobia and misogyny/misogynoir.

True to some extent

But the average Christian parent in the US is a blue collar worker who works long hours. He or she probably does not have time to monitor whar their children consume. Laws such as the book bans are a quick way of 'assuaging fears'. After all since one does not have time to check on what the children read or consume, let the law do it for me.

But laws are not meant as a parenting tool.

If you throw the baby out with the bath water, you will definitely regret it. What they should have done is ban the old testament from kids and leave the new testament. The new testament is the greatest book in the world. They will definitely feel the negative effect of banning the new testament in time.
