Clause 48 of the INEC Regulation
reveals the status of the electronically
transmitted election results, where
incorrectness is identified by the
collation officer, with a similar purpose
identified under Clause 51, which states
that discrepancies in a result submitted
by the presiding officer to the Ward
Collation Officer will be resolved using
the electronic result to identify the
source of the discrepancy. The clause
states that the result that is
electronically transmitted will be
employed for the purpose of collation

Result sheets from the IREV were blurry. Means there was no way to tally the contents of the hard copy with that on the IREV. And when such a discrepancy is yet to be straightened out, collated results shouldn't be announced. Yet, folks are littered everywhere on nairaland twisting and misrepresenting the laws just to suit interests and narratives.

Nigeria is just another sad country.

Lol. You guys are really ignorant. You read to argue and not to understand. Go and read the part in bold clearly.

The discrepancies you’re talking about are discrepancies that have already been resolved at the ward collation centers and the electronic results are those already uploaded to the BVAS from the polling units. It is not IREV. All the discrepancies were resolved at the ward collation centers and party agents including those of Labour Party signed the collated results at the ward level.

That 18k results totalled about 2.5 million votes. Tinubu won with 1.8 million votes.

Use your sense

They are blurry only on IREV. The real form EC8A results for the 18k units are not blurry. They are very clear and they were used in collating the results. Results were not collated on IREV.

At the resumed hearing of the Petition of the Labour Party and Peter Obi against INEC, Tinubu, Shettima and APC, INEC was finally able to open their defence as their witness did not have “domestic issues” today.

INEC witness today was the same Deputy Director of ICT at INEC, Lawrence Bayode, who testified for INEC in PDP’s case.

After adopting his witness statement, it was time for cross examinations by parties.

When it the turn of the Labour Party, cross examination was handled by PIN Ikwueto SAN.

First, under cross examination, PIN Ikwueto asked the witness why INEC went ahead to deploy the IREV for the elections if it had “vulnerabilities” (recall the many claims of threats of hackers and all by INEC and government agencies).

To this the witness replied that the IREV “had no vulnerability.”

Furthermore into the cross examination, Mr Ikwueto handed an INEC certified IREV result sheet and asked, “what is the score of APC in this result sheet?”

INEC Witness: ”I don’t know, the results are blurry.”

And that was how INEC admitted in court that its document is blurry.

Now, the question is where did it get the numbers to announce the winner it announced?

Remember: ”The aim is not to trust the judiciary, the aim is to overwhelm them with evidence”.

Oga !! what that clause is addressing is a situation where there is discrepancies between the polling unit and at the ward centre collation unit,
the presiding officier from the polling unit and collation officier will review the discrepancies with electronic result, i.e check what was snapped by the Bvas and rectify AT WARD LEVEL. as primary source what is on the BVAS is what will definitely be seen on IREV

We have four coalition stage, polling units 2 ward 2 local govt 2 state then 2 National

Section 64 subservient to section 47 (2) are the only Guide of the collation of results

. The INEC declared results based on the collation of EC8 forms signed at the collation centers not IREV results.
The SC held that IREV results may be affected by transmission, manipulation and electronic faulty transmission.
Any case based on IREV resukts are academic wiithiut any probative value.
We will continue to remind the Obedients the SC judgement on IREV till the day their case will be struck out .

By that singular admittance, INEC fell into a bottomless pit of trap set by the Labour Party’s Lawyer.

The man below is a senior lawyer and he shares his view about that.

So because one result from a polling unit is blurry or proven to be "rigged", you think Obi has achieved the high level of proof required to overturn an election?

This is not a science or statistic type situation where you extrapolate stuff, all that will happen is calculated votes from that particular polling unit is nullified, not even an opportunity for elections to be held again at that Polling unit.

By the way why are LP's lawyers still indulging in bush league behaviour? They were given 3 weeks to tender documents, instead they wasted time indulging themselves by wheeling TV's into court as well as presenting BS experts.

Now that it is the turn of Respondents to file their own evidence, LP's lawyers are trying to bring in even more documents.

Obidients will always keep clutching at straws sha.

..If 18k snapped results are blurry out of 176k, then that’s an insignificant number. It’s a passmark for INEC and IREV.

Is it insignificant really?

According to INEC, the number of voters per PU is 500 (700 actually on average). 500 by 18000 gives a potential 9,000,000 voters. The smallest margin of winning between the top 3 in the flawed elections was 800,000, the largest margin of win was less than 2,000,000 and over four times less than the potential voters unaccounted for on iRev. Then, there is the issue of whose stronghold was blurred out?

You'd agree with me that your passmark did not come from a place of common sense.
