Palliative that's going to the poorest and vulnerable people

None of us here will have access so no need to mention what to do with ordinary 8k that can hardly cook a good port of stew for a single weekend

The money is meant for the vulnerable most especially the old people.

Those able youths salivating should better go and look for work cos it won't reach them
How many old people have bank account?
How can the money get to them?
How do you determine someone who is vulnerable?
So Tinubu removed subsidy that aided small scale businesses to run a charity government?

Tinubu's supporters, shame go dey kill una now knowing that the man you all campaigned for, insulted far better candidates on his account has turned governance into sharing 8k that cannot make a pot of stew for a family of three. That is what we meant by Agbado economics, under Buhari it was Almajiri economics, under Tinubu, it is Agbado-Ewa economics. Economic model that makes Government borrow huge amount and then waste it. Tinubu plans to borrow 800 million US dollars. One million dollars is over 750 million naira. Then multiply 750 million naira into 800 times and know the amount Tinubu wants to borrow to share N8000 each to 12 million people for just 6 months.
Now what will 8k do for a single person.
Imagine investing the amount to rebuilding our hospitals, our schools, our electricity, or even creating direct employment.
Tinubu has to stop running the economy the way Buhari ran it.

The 8,000 is not for your type or those you are asking here, they are people leaving in abject poverty, however can afford to buy data to be o nliine for 15 days out of 30 days in a month is not poor, whoever have a smart phone is not poor but only lack money management sense.

Oga, it is not a salary! It is a support. It is to reduce the effect of the subsidy removal on these vunerables. At least they were surviving before the subsidy removal. The 8k is just an addition to what they were surviving on.

At N50 each. 2 cobs of corn 30 times is N3000 leaving N5000 change.

At N200, 40 can of malt is a good supplement for 4p days.

I can rent a small land with the first 8k, cultivate my own corn with another 8k and harvest N100k worth of corn going by current prices. Substitute rice, beans, vegetable, potato, yam, tomato, pepper, groundnut or wheat for corn and see the potential to explode from Tinubu corn meal palliative.

I can just give to those who do not have and can't help themselves to have uncorruptible treasures in heaven.

A hustling woman/lady will buy half sack of potatoes or some yam, oil, pan, firewood and start frying. By six month end when others are complaining the money was just for pure water and sugar alone, she can have N200,000.

It depends on what people do with it. Half bread is always better than none.

You don't have sense or you are trying to be stupid?
Which of them?

Funny country.
Asking the question when the interview is over.
Nigeria's own kind of democracy is by the government and for the government.
As far as the citizens are concerned they visit the restaurant but cannot order anything because there are no waiters.
They pick whatever is placed on the table.

Once again I ask.
Who decided that the palliatives be cash handouts.
Who decided that 500 billion be made available.
Who decided that 8,000 be paid out.
Who decided the program will run for 6 months.

Because these are the questions almost everyone is asking AFTER THE FACT, in the non participatory democracy we run here where the Legislature which is supposed to be the eyes, ears and mouth of the people appear to be blind, deaf and dumb in all situations that concern the people.

Theirs is just to nod like invalids.

Covid 19 was a clear case of how all nations handled issues like this and I could remember vividly how palliatives were a long running issue of debate in Congress. I will not even speak about the UK parliament where that issue still reverberates till today and folks there are still giving account to the British citizens.
You have said it. The biggest disaster that Nigerians are confront with is not even the Executive branch, it is the legislature. People that Nigerians elected to the various legislative houses both Federal and State only represent themselves. For instance this plan to share paltry sum of 8k is obviously not popular amongst Nigerians. Nigerians would rather that the National Assembly permit that expenditure not for sharing but to be used to invest in crucial public infrastructure that can have significant impact in the economy for instance electricity. But our fooalish legislature will close their eyes and allow sharing happen because they will get their share from it. What a people.

Many of you are just jumping everywhere unreasonably.

1. You did not vote Tinubu so you cannot speak to why he we gave him the mandate. When Obi reclaims the mandate, you can question why he was voted.

2. That you have a smart phone and data is a testament that the said amount is not meant for you. If not that some of you have also become so rich and have lost touch with reality, you really think the poor people of this country will not find 8k useful for their basic need?

Should they then not have it?

How will they know who and who that will benefit from this the immediate minister of finance used to say they transfer #5000 monthly who are the beneficiaries we don't know ,we only see they distribute cash to people in the northern part but nothing in the southern part.,some people did not get bank account. Any palliatives that did not go round from grassroots to the top is a facade.
