What should be done is the 1000 and 500 naira notes should be scrapped.

I just don't know why Yar adua didn't allow Soludo to proceed with that plan....Soludo did a solid job in planning for naira. For reasons best known to Yaradua, he rejected the plan and went ahead not to reappoint Soludo....Reason why Obasanjo remains the best. He gave his team the opportunity to see through their plans andprogrammes. Yaradua or any northern president wouldn't have allowed the 2005 banking consolidation to happen.

Tinubu should not try the policy now. It is long outdated.....it would have been good if Soludo had implemented it then..... lots have changed since then, both at the micro and macro levels.....lots of economic determinants. The ship has sailed...Tinubu should explore other economic alternatives.

Redenomination shoild have been done that time Soludo suggested it as CBN Governor cause Naira was stable. If we attempt it now our case will be worse than Ghana .

soludo just took a shine by the capitalization of the banks in Nigeria..after that he was daft...

He is just playing popularity contest with ideas he never meant to implement...e.g re-decimalisation of the naira, payment of all tier of govt its allocation in dollars..ge isnt serious at all

Redomination should be after a stable economy from a bad past. Otherwise it will be cosmetics approach and it will backfire.

Why is he heading your country? Why didn't you or your father or any member of your family become the president? Tinubu can spit on your four head and nothing will happen. But if you try it, you are dead

This is sounding more like a game of Tik Tak Toe. Throwing everything out there against the wall to see which one sticks rather than clearly thought out plans that could get the economy working. That’s what happens when your economic team is composed mostly of corrupt and unqualified money chasers.

Nothing will stabilise the currency of a country where the populace is prevented from producing its needed goods and services sufficiently, insecurity reigns, and dealers are called leaders.

Why don't you have sense? Our minimum wage is 30k. We top the ladder of unemployment according to the latest ranking. Our graduates are either jobless, Yahoo Yahoo or underemployed. How many Nigerians can afford 3 square meal daily? How many Nigerians can afford the exorbitant tuition fee in our public university and federal government colleges today?

An average Nigerians truly live below $1 daily. Don't let your love or support for Emilokan blind your sense of reasoning. You think supporting your oppressors and those who had stolen your future and that of your unborn kids will exonerate you from the hardship in the country?

Keep pretending like you don't know the situation of things in the country

Bunch of clueless leaders , a country that solely depend on importation rather than creating massive employment, open up industries, rather than looking for practical solutions are looking for theoretical magic to defend the Naira , why not do everything to boost local production in every area and see if the demand for dollars for importation will not reduce?
The mofos want to share 8k palliative that will not get to the beneficiaries

Nigeria is already on extra time, the leaders should keep jonzing

I thought they said this dude was smart and developed Lagos? His policies are surprising. With my secondary school knowledge of economics, I know that thIs is a senseless move.

Everyone knows that all we need is to find a way to diversify our economy so we can get in foreign exchange. Export, export and export. I'm surprised at the kind of people we have in CBN.

This is a nice policy, especially having an inflation targeting, Ghana did same and it worked for them. Nigeria only had a monetary policy targeting.
But the most important thing is to have an import substitution strategy that will see us stop importing much (especially petrol), so as the naira will stop chasing the dollar.
Re: FG Mulls Redenomination Option To Stabilise Naira by Emir8: 4:49pm On Aug 20, 2023
How can redenomination stabilize naira. You want to create 300, 400, 2000 etc naira and you think that will stabilize naira against foreign currencies? These people are daft. Instead of increasing export, they are looking for ways to embezzle money

After Ghana did redenomination, their currency and economy crashed to the lowest since 1976. Inflation rises to all-time highest level.

Mr Tinubu this is not a state .
You are attacking too many things at the same time.
Infuse a temp subsidy and prepare the people for the removal while you set up ways to cushion its effect . There is nothing you’ll do that will work unless you tighten people from spending. Inflation is too high. Despite people crying out the number of people travelling out has no waned.
Nigeria is behaving like a consumer country instead of manufacturing. The amount of tax collected is no existence .
