I'm a Surveyor & I know most people will say Wike is doing way too much but he isn't. If u say education is expensive try ignorance... Most prospective property and land owners aren't ready & willing to do the necessary documentations [ Survey registration, Building approval, CofO / Governor's consent]. Most don't even do the necessary charting / searching, making proper findings before paying huge amounts to buy a land/property

That is why it is always important to consult a Surveyor rather than a lawyer wen trying to buy a land/property so as to know where it falls, be it government acquisition or free before purchasing and after purchase, you are advised to do the necessary documentations (Survey registration, Building approval, CofO / Governor's consent)

Sorry about your family friend . Now what I don’t understand is this . If your land is truly genuine , why would it be demolished ? Our people always try short cuts or are just plain ignorant . You want to buy a land for 1 million but you don’t want to spend 80k to check the authenticity of the land . Even if the land is genuine , you have to get building approval from government . Those documents are very important . Abuja in particular is very well planned . However people are so horrible that they enter abuja with the village mindset and start building anything anywhere . That’s madness . My take is that Wike should just try and demolish everything within the law . Follow due process .

If you deal in property in Abuja you’d know that sometimes, it takes heaven to help you tell if a particular property is legit cause if it’s a prime location and people want to make money off of you, they do anything to give you “legit” papers that aren’t even legit in the first place.

I know a couple of guys who are still in court for the Pst three years over a property both of them bought with genuine papers.

I’m sure if the developer had been told his property would go down, he’d have found a way to resolve the issue with the owner of the land; that’s if he didn’t buy the land in actuality in the first place.
