I'm not a fan of oppression, but for Equity sake Abuja indigenous people should have their own Governor and 3 senators since they are like any other state.

Because it means an indigene of Abuja would never have the hope of Becoming a Governor till the rest of his life.

Since no Nigerian is bigger than any Nigeria in terms of votes, why can't Abuja indigenes be able to become a governor in their lifetime like every other Nigerian from another states?

Does it mean other Nigerians from other states are more Nigerian that Abuja indigenes?

Their demand is justified since FCT Abuja is not special.

Nonsense and 25%
So you believed Abuja people had two heads. Since the court said they didn't, the territory's status should be changed to Abuja State. Na wah for una.

Yes ooO, they deserve it, since is just like every other states in Nigeria, and Nigeria should be constitutional recognized as a country with 37 states.

That's the thing with lies. You'll need a lot more to cover just one.
You claim Abuja is the 37th state? Fine, then treat them like a state.
That's the beauty of law. There is no gray , only black or white.
You say this , then it implies this. No room for shenanigans

The people of the FCT don't have the opportunity to vote for who they want to be their FCT minister, which is like a governor of a state, the only opportunity they have is to have a say on who should be the president of Nigeria, by giving that person a minimum of 25% of votes.
One important questions to ask is:
If the INEC chairman think that the people of the FCT votes is not important at all in the presidential election, then why did he allowed them to come out to vote in the day of the presidential election?
If the reason why the people in the FCT votes is for the mandatory 25% in the FCT, then why was that part of the Constitution not implemented?
By just looking at the PEPC judgement, one will wonder of what use or contribution was the votes from the FCT in the 2023 presidential election
Once a court is compromise, they will look for loop holes to apply technicalities in favour of the ruling party. Had it been Peter obi was announced by INEC to have the highest votes but failed to get 25% of votes in the FCT, the PEPC will have used that against him, I am not surprised on how they controversial rule that a hard drugs case is a civilian case

When you tell a lie, you need another hundred lies to cover up. Suffice to say that when you subjugate justice and fairness, you create ripples of other problems that turn around and hurt very well.

So, according to the PEPC judgement, Abuja is like a State and by so, deserves to have a Governor and 3 Senators.
Its shows many lack intelligence on Abuja.
Its Federal capital Territory, the President is Federal so he is more like their Prime minister or governor , a governor can't be with President there, that why they have Wicked Wike (FCT MINISTER)

2023 Election has made people jus to read Law h constitution & ended up not to know how to Interprete its literal meaning.

trinity11:

Going by your illustration, is it a crime for the "federal" (president) to have 25% of it's own territorial votes.

Tell me one state governor you know who has less than 40% of the total votes casted. Now the question should be, does the 36 States has any special status than the Fct.

Now ask yourself this how many % of people voted for Timubu in Abuja, that makes him preside over the affairs of Abuja or the authority to appoint someone as minister of FCT.

80% of Abuja residents did not vote Tinubu
None of abuja residents voted wike, but these 2 men will preside over the affairs of Abuja. However you voted for your own governors, senators and assembly members in your state.
So you have special status than the residents of FCT

NOTE: They did not ask the president to win FCT, just 25% which I think should be 50% to be fair enough.
I know where u coming from, so I won't engage u.... any 36 states & Fct , that is any of 36 including FCT, 25% requirements. [ recite State & capital rhymes " its say F.C.T, abuja"

The original inhabitants of the FCT were relocated. So, who are these indigenes?

In all honesty, igbos have the highest number of population in Lagos, after they have virtually bought most of the lands from the indigenes, but Lagos still belongs to the Yorubas indigene, whether they are around or not.

Relocated to where? Outside Abuja? Were they thrown out of Abuja or they no longer exist? Was there an indigene-merger with other states?

There is a reason why 25% is even an issue. It is written clearly in the constitution. But since that ship has sailed, then the shit that comes with the fan has to be smelt by everyone.
