There is nothing like FCT indigene anymore, they can’t eat their cake and have it they were relocated and compensated in order that the FCT could be created. By law there is nothing like an FCT indigene, they’ve been bought out and settled long ago.

It is like traditional rulers claiming sovereignty. The British had overthrown them and they have lost their kingdoms, that they are still recognized for sentimental and cultural reasons does not mean they have any Kingdoms or can start claiming rights to kingdoms. There is no mention of traditional rulers in the constitution because they don’t exist in the eyes of federal law It is only states that recognize them again for cultural sentiment and administrative reasons. Same with FCT indigenes.

Thank you sir. Let the "Abuja indigenes" go and get their own lashes in court.

Obi and his dient people should know that 2023 election is not the first in this country and will not be the last. In every election, there will always be a winner and couple of losers.

I dont see why you should have a problem with this. Na una talk say FCT is like any other state so I dont actually see the problem with this move. The statement all of you used to shift goal post and suit your bias is what you're now calling madness.

So you mean there are no Abuja indigenes in Kuje, Bwari, Kwali, Abaji, Gwagwalada and AMAC of FCT? And those ones supposedly relocated to Niger and Nassarawa have lost their identities automatically? Be sure of these your assertions

ElSudani:

Yes actually, they were relocated to towns in Niger and Nassarawa states.

Yes, Good step.

Since Abuja is just like any other state, they should be allowed to also produce Governors, and Senators.

This is what you get when people call black white. Abuja doesn't have special status, but they appoint fct minister instead of electing governors. They produce only one senator instead of 3,like any other state

Wicked law officials
Once their constitution didn’t Favour them, they will look for a way to make it look legit and to think that people are still supporting them. Everyone knows Abuja have been the FCT and a sitting president must get 25% vote there but because it didn’t Favour them, they have to scrape it. Make them no worry, very soon their fowl go lay cooked egg

Who is an APC member? And who gives a damn about Buhari? CS has eluded you people. Go on reading into the Constitution what it doesn't say. In fact, go on and write a new constitution that if a candidate doesn't win Abuja or get a certain number of votes there, his opponent should be sworn in.

Keep deceiving yourself. The constitution is very clear. Infact before the elections , Ruth Kadaria boldly went on TV to state the same thing. They still considered Labour Party a mushroom party and were duly shocked.
In the history of Nigeria, never has the constitution being so openly bastardized but its alright as far as "na my person". 🤡🤡🤡🤡

When you tell a lie, you need another hundred lies to cover up. Suffice to say that when you subjugate justice and fairness, you create ripples of other problems that turn around and hurt very well.

So, according to the PEPC judgement, Abuja is like a State and by so, deserves to have a Governor and 3 Senators.

Please name one country in the world where voters in its capital city rank higher than their compatriots in other regions.

The judgement on this particular 25% issue and the double nomination were the most laughable of all the judgements.

The corrupt judges said that its should be referred to as a state. Oya where is the governor and what is the capital of FCT? They also ruled that shettima double nomination WAS NOT INTENTIONAL. Can you imagine? shocked shocked

And APC supporters agreed to such a fraudulent ruling. If it's like that, all those in jail for one offence or the other should be released after all they didn't do it intentionally too grin grin grin grin

NIGERIA WILL NEVER BE GREAT angry

Tribalistic yorubas think they are doing igbos but what they don't know is that they are doing everyone including themselves. As it stands now the future of the unborn generation doesn't look good in that useless country when things like these keep happening. Japa if you can!
And you think that judgement is from the Judges right? The earlier you realize that it was APC legal team that wrote that judgement and impose it on the judges to read the better

The original inhabitants were relocated to Niger and Nassarawa states. They were duly compensated and the federal government carved out the FCT from about three states.
So, in essence there are no Abuja indigenes anymore, or should I say indigenes of the FCT.

Sounds like propaganda until the case is actually instituted. FCT residents don't have two heads to be hold veto power over other citizens of Nigeria. Their case will be thrown out. All the justices of the appeal and supreme courts are indigenes of certain states and you can take it to the bank that none of them will ever accept the wrong interpretation that voters in their own states are inferior to FCT residents.

This particular set of residents have too much time on their hands.

I fully expect their attempt to make a mockery of our subsisting laws to be met with commensurate fines. cool

It is the constitution that gave Abuja special status and not any individual. You must obey the constitution for now. If this clause needs to be amended, then this can be looked into in the future. Let the rule of law prevail!

The Constitution never gave Abuja any special status as far as election is concerned.
