1.I work in a job that involves me staying awake at night when I am on call at night (yes, I work in medicine). I stay awake because if I sleep and yawa happens, patient could die, and how would the relatives behave if they find out I slept?.

2.One night I was sick, very sick. I managed to get to the hospital...and guess what, I got admitted and treated promptly because the medical staff were awake and ready to receive me.

You guys that are justifying bad thing.....what if something went wrong because the guy slept? Would you then come and defend him for sleeping with 'bodi no be wood' nonsense?

I am not supporting witch hunting. Our people that just arrived the UK are so indiscipline and lack home training. They are so nutty and very rude. I am very sure this guy is one of those arrogant type and this lady has been watching him. In my department here , I had intervened so many times to call few of those boys to behave and this is not Nigeria where they think fellow Nigerian will help them. They are so lazy and not ready to learn. What they want is the pounds not ready to justify the reason why they are paying them the money. Generally speaking, I prefer to work with other African countries than to work with Nigerian.

You work at night, be disciplined enough to sleep during the day. I also worked as a waking night support worker in a children home, resuming at 8p.m and ending at 8a.m. The second staff was paid to sleep in the home from 8p.m to 8a.m, only woken up if there is an emergency. If I had dozed off because it was night and no one would know, then the young person sneaks out of the house and ends up harmed...it will be over for me.

I slept during day, then from 10p.m when the young person has slept off, I worked on my laptop or watched NETFLIX in the lounge as the hours rolled by.

It is very risky covering up another staff who was sleeping while on shift with you...when incident happen, you go explain tire.

Are you minding the nincompoops who are supporting the laggard? With night shifts, you're meant to sleep well at home during the day, before coming to work at night. For that colleague to have captured evidences and report the worker, it's likely that he might have received warnings in the past about the sleeping habit and he probably brushed them off.

I've come to realise how extremely backwards our sense of reasoning is when it comes to progressive thinking, that I no longer bother with issues concerning Nigeria and Nigerians anymore. We are the architects of our failures. Politically and socioeconomically. Coming to NL these days just makes me sad and depressed, with the kinds of topics seen on the FP.

Honestly if you've relocated and wish to make progress abroad, avoid Nigerian mentalities for your own good. Even in business, you're most likely to be helped by a British local than by a Nigerian (emphasis on most likely). The locals would very willingly give out a used (almost-new) property for free, but that can never happen with a Nigerian.

Stories and experiences abound that I do not have the strength to type here, but honestly, at the risk of sounding haughty (which I'm not), I'd prefer to do business with a local than with a Nigerian. Even the British run their scams (don't get me wrong), but with Nigerians, the risk of being disappointed is much higher. Sad to say.

Nigerians happen to be the major set of people based abroad who are against their fellow countrymen joining them abroad... Asians, Middle Easterners, and Indians will not only counsel their people to come but also spend money and effort to make it easy for them to join them, and go the extra mile to help them settle in quickly.

Data Entry is not difficult... Some people actually learn and master it on the job. You can also take free courses online (like on alison.com)

Virtual Assistant refers to a range of work which can often include Data entry... While some clients on Upwork and Freelancer might require some proof of experience, others don't... They just need your eagerness to work and learn as well a great work ethic.

What you need is the ability to attract these gigs both part-time and full-time... This can be taught by a mentor or by professionals who will also add you to online communities where you can learn from others and get jobs too.

One of such communities is Digital Witch... Look them up on Facebook, join and follow them. They organize monthly trainings for a token (I think between 18,000 and 25,000).
