Mad people. What is their minimum wage and what's our minimum wage?

A Presidential yacht is a white elephant project at this point. That money can finance 50 thousand Nigeria-assembled laptops at 100k per laptop.

It can setup 10 thousand hairdressers, 10 thousand tailors, 10 thousand cobblers, undecided5 thousand petty traders 5 thousand generator techs, 5 thousand laptop techs, and 5 thousand phone repairers. All at once.

So before now, the country wasn't governed properly without a yacht, right? How can you guys be so insensitive? Looking at the current realities on ground, was the yacht needed knowing fully well that the country is broke?

The yatch had been in the budget before, but it was never purchased for obvious reasons.

what are the "obvious reasons"?

why is the yatch appearing again in the budget when the same Tinubu claims that there is no money and that Nigerians should tighten their belts?

Presidential yacht when you are telling Nigerians endure hardship no matter how hard you defend this.

It's absolute madness. Unless the yacht is for military, then this is absolutely stupid.

They want to Spend 5 billion to buying Presidential yansh. They have not yet tabled the annual cost of maintaining and cleaning the yansh o.
After that they will now say they are cutting cost of governance by increasing taxation and not increasing salaries.

Do you even think that these our so called leaders believe that there are components of Nigeria called "citizens"? No! What they see is animals and worthless human beings and that's why they treat us as such.
They know we don't have any powers over them. The only electoral power that we have has been thrown to the dogs owing to the abundant poverty in the land. .... Or how do you expect a hunger battered person not to collect money for voting no matter how meagre it is? They use abject poverty to manourver our thinking and actions. God will judge them!

Use for what exactly?
At this stage in our national history, and with the level of all round poverty ravaging Nigeria, is this what we need? What is the relevance and economic importance of that yatch? 5 billion?

You are not wailing. You are in the comfort of your abode typing from an internet enabled device and drinking tea while some kids will die today because of lack of food. Have you been to IDP camps? Do you know what 5BILLION naira will do for the people in IDP camps?

Young boy, Where is your state of origin? I bet all the schools there are computerized and they all have good chairs and MARKER BOARD. Wouldn't you be more happy as a Nigerian if the narrative was that WE ARE NO LONGER BUYING THE YACHT, WE WOULD RATHER USE THE MONEY TO BUILD MORE SCHOOLS or even renovate existing ones or give scholarships to ? No, it is better we spend 5 billion on luxury.

5 billion naira will give quality scholarship to 1,000 children up to university level (at 10,000,000 naira per child). Imagine adding one thousand more enlightened people to your country for the good of TOMORROW. But No, childish and NARROW MINDED fools like you are in support of spending it on ONE yacht that will incure more billions in license and maintenance fees.

Very good example. Those are countries with good navigable NETWORK of water ways (rivers, streams and ocean). The president of this countries especially, Egypt, Finland and Italy, can very possible use the hatch for 20% of their traveling around their country.
But here in Nigeria, we barely use boats to travel from one community to another community in the same city. In all of our presidents stay in office, he might not use boats 2 times. This is were logic and personality comes in.
It’s greed and disjointed priority and insensitivity that will make a government purchase something it won’t use with such stupendous amount of money in this very critical time of our existence. It shows gross lack of leadership on the part of our government

We are talking of presidential yacht when large population of Nigerian cannot feed 2 times a day.

We need to be talking about something that we improve the economy, not yacht that we will need million of dollars to maintain after procurement.

Our government officials always like to compare Nigeria to other countries when it comes to something that will benefit the government officials, but the same bastards cannot afford to pay Nigerian workers what these other countries are paying their citizens.
