The yatch had been in the budget before, but it was never purchased for obvious reasons.

Go and read abeg, the navy has a presidential yatch in its fleet christened NNS Amarya.

Apparently, its not presidential enough for 'the lion' who has not been to a stream before.

Fun Fact:

Buhari's admin was one of best for the military in terms of acquiring of military hardware, the admin can be compared to the best admin since independence on that note. More than 50 air platforms were acquired, hundreds of tanks and MRAPS, multiple naval ships acquired yet, Buhari never thought it fit to acquire a presidential yatch.

Obviously, Mr. 'Jagaba' has the military on his front burner. Nonsense and ingredients.

The question remains, does the current economic realities in Nigeria today justifies this idiocy? How can government be creating multiple political ministries, buying foreign exotic cars for NASS and now this wasteful jamboree by a government?
I support your comment for the first time Racoon.

Okay... Let compare the economies of those nations with Nigeria.

Also compare and check the standard of living of citizens in those nations, as well as the amount generated within them compared to Nigeria.

Selfishness is one of the major problems we have in this country.
Can you just imagine someone defending nonsense, despite what people are going through in the country.
You see why its very hard for the country to move forward? SMH

There is no whatsoever justification for a yatch in a country where majority don't know when their next meal will come from.

Besides, most of the countries listed up there having presidential yatch made the yatch by themselves and did not deploy most of their foreign exchange earnings for yatch but created jobs for their local citizens through the hatch.

I support Tinubu but can’t support nor defend him on this yacht nonsense. It is very insensitive at this time. Even if Ghana or Togo has it, we don’t have to copy everything. If it had been proposed and initiated by previous governments as I have read somewhere, let him stop it forthwith.
if all of his supporters can be this less foolish we wouldn't have this issue, they always support anything just like zombies, I suggest he buys a presidential space shuttle and a presidential submarine.

Smh. Seyi is the Nigerian Navy abi? It must be Seyi that suggested the Presidential jet, Nigeria Airforce 1, too niyen.
It's a shame that most of you are ignorant about governance and that's why the politicians don't take you serious. Presidential yatch is a vessel that will be managed by the Nigerian Navy but dedicated to the Presidency, not even the President as a person per se.

Lol. Nigerians fall for anything. So if those countries had them in the past, or even presently Nigeria must have them now? Looking at our economy presently, Tinubu's government thinks this is of utmost importance now?

How much was $ in 2010? They didn't even do it then cos it would have been stupid, that's to show how stupid you're as a person, did ur saviour even consider the hardship millions of Nigerians are subjected to. Business men are hitting loss back to back but u must lick the ass of a man that don't give a fúck about ur existence. How pathetic!

I don't know if I should call you a fool or what. Which budget are you talking about?in a country where you have 134 million people living in poverty, your problem is a yacht? Do you know how many people in this country eat only ones in a day?

A Presidential yacht refers to a vessel of a country's navy that would be specially used by the country's President. It is common for a vessel to be designated as the presidential yacht during a fleet review.

Some countries (below) have vessels permanently designated as presidential yachts:

List of Countries with Presidential yachts

Egypt
The President of Egypt has the eighth largest yacht, El Mahrousa, as his presidential yacht.

Finland
The President of Finland has a small private yacht, Kultaranta VIII.

India
The INS Sumitra is the presidential yacht of India.

Italy
The Italian ship Argo (MEN209) is the presidential yacht of Italy.

Philippines

Dalisay (1948-1959), renamed Apo, Pagasa, and Santa Maria.

Olympia (2002–2009), was used by the Russian President Vladimir Putin during his first and second terms.
Sirius (2010–), was firstly used by the Russian President Dmitri Medvedev
Graceful (2018–), the most recent presidential yacht. The Russian government also employing the special vessel named Rossiya which was built during the Soviet Union, and used in the internal waters. In 2003 ship named Burevestnik was commissioned to serve the Russia's leaders.[5]

Turkey
Presidential Yacht Savarona – The current Turkish presidential yacht; prior to 2010 privately leased while her replacement (below) was in development
New presidential yacht – The Turkish Government has currently commissioned a new 50 m yacht for the personal use of the president and visiting heads of state. Details of this new yacht first surfaced in September 2008.[6][citation needed] The yacht is being built at the Istanbul Naval Yard, Pendik, Istanbul and is reported to have a ballistic hull, surface-to-air missiles and high-tech equipment.

United States
In the past, the United States employed presidential yachts serving the American president:

USS Mayflower (1906–1929), was decommissioned as a result of economy measures just prior to the Great Depression.
USS Potomac (1936–1945)
USS Williamsburg (1945–1953)
the most recent presidential yacht was USS Sequoia (1933–77).

Yugoslavia
The most famous is Galeb, the yacht of Marshal Josip Broz Tito.

Your brain did not tell you all the countries you listed are richer and doing better than Nigeria, It is because of f.ools like you that politicians spend recklessly at the expense of their poor citizens.

These are countries that their currency is even stronger than Nigerian naira...it is really difficult sharing the same country with brainless goats supporting pure evil in the name of politics.
