I don't really see any racist behavior on the part of the immigration officer. You took advantage of their system.

You applied for a Visa as a visitor but you also had the intention to birth your child in Canada. I bet he didn't disclose that his wife will be traveling pregnant and almost due for delivery in Canada. The government of Canada does not encourage such practice, you just provided another child for them that they originally didn't plan to have and they now have to cater for the child because whatever the case may be now, they have a Canadian citizen in your care and home.

The fact that your wife was pregnant is the reason they denied you entry because they see so many foreigners coming to Canada to have their children so that they can automatically become citizens after they turn 16 years of age and besides it puts a burden on their healthcare system. The hospital bill has to be paid by the citizens who are already burdened by high local and federal taxes. You'd be lucky if they do NOT have you pay the hospital bill before they deport you to Nigeria.

His story is NOT straight forward, and the attending officer could see the lies in it. Their plan from the get go was to give birth in Canada, using the visiting visa. Ha Nigerians!

Nigerians have behaved horribly abroad so much that immigration officials at the counter become apprehensive when they see the green passport. That may be one of the challenges of the officer. The officer may have determined that OP planned to settle in Canada with his family. Seeing that they have a visitors visa, the officer chose to be very strict and intimidating.

On arrival, there are very racist immigration officers. There are immigration officers who act like tin gods. They determine your entry or exit. They ask questions from the logical to the illogical. The worst immigration officials to encounter are found in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Ensure that you comport yourself completely and your documents and finances are intact.

You read the OP saying that he showed cash and money in his domiciliary account. How then do you expect such a person to ask for help. Even if he does, will you give, when you are on pocket money from family?

Their passports were retained by immigration to ensure that they return for their hearing. Two things can happen. They can be denied entry and get deported instantly, or if confirmed can be allowed to remain for the rest of their holiday.

Immigration can look through your phone and documents if the need arises. However some officers choose the path of intimidation.

You land country, immediately run heavy bill on their health services that their citizens pay taxes, insurance etc to run. That cost of ambulance services, child birth etc could easily cost over 20k Canadian dollars. Will he pay? As someone advised earlier, he should collect his kids passport and return to naija, knowing he will not smell Canada for a very long time. You're probably right that he is Racist. I suspect his anger and frustrations was derived from his probable racist view that Oyigbo people are superior to blacks. All that others on here have suggested in the context of him attempting to dupe the system is possibly true and he himself would admit so deep down. He thought that, unlike blacks, Oyigbo people would place humanity above rules and regulations faced with a human life and death situation.
