SOMEBODY SHOULD HAVE TOLD MAMA THAT WE ARE IN A DEMOCRACY WHERE MAJORITY VOTES CARRY THE DAY.

AND THAT PEOPLE ARE NOT ''ALLOWED'' TO BECOME PRESIDENT BASED ON THEIR ETHNICITY.

But Tinubu felt it was his turn as a Yoruba and you didn't say so.

Majority votes that were altered to arrive at that .

Anyway, presidents are also not allowed to inflict hardship on people

Don't worry, cassava, garri and ewa have been packaged for you to pick up at Bourdillon.
Wicked people. Enjoy your suffering. After all, your people prefer to suffer under a criminal president from your tribe, than to enjoy under a president from the Igbo tribe.
Now, you people pretend to regret it, but I know you will still vote criminal tinubu again in 2027 and suffer more because your ego is too high to accept that an Igbo President would make your life better.
You will suffer and watch us laugh at you without pity. Agbado urchins.

Obj was the best, Yardua was the best, Jonathan was the best, 2019 Atiku was the best, 2023 Peter Gregory was the best and Igbo's voted massively in block for OBJ, Yardua, Jonathan, Atiku, Obi.

I am not Ibo but I MUST get married to an Igbo woman, they are special breeds and my kids MUST have their blood.

I just don't know how difficult it is for these IPOBidients to grasp such a simple concept as stated by your good self.

A Northerner was President, you abused him and his tribe every day for his 8 year tenure, a Yoruba man is now President and you are spending every day abusing him and his tribe.

Yet as an Igbo poster on Nairaland, you are surprised that come election time, when you vote overwhelming for your Igbo candidate, other people are not doing so.

Strange set of people.

At least, let the votes count

God bless you for this. If the Igbo want to be president, they will have to earn it like others by forming alliance and respecting the opinions of others. That their nzogbu-nzogbu politics can never work outside of the SE.
Winning elections in Nigeria is not just by forming alliances, it is by controlling inec, mobilizing criminal thugs, snatching boxes, killings, ethnic intimidation, tons of money etc.
Yes, as you rightly said, politics can never work out of south east and yes Nigeria may never work well and progress unfortunately because of tribal issues when a proper person comes along. Igbos were not tribal when it came to voting for Obasanjo twice, even against an igbo candidate, they were not tribal when they voted Jonathan, neither tribal when they voted Tinubu in Lagos and gave overwhelming support to fashola, even when tinubu wanted him out for his 2nd term.
I put it to you, had igbos such as rochas, uzor Kalu, uzodimma contested against eg Osibanjo, akinwumi ambode, 100% igbos will vote for Ambode and Osibanjo.
For igbos it is not about tribe, but who the believe will perform, make their lives better, their business, trade, education and standard of living. Same thing with Yorubas, but for a few that were wrongly mobilized to look at ethnicity, basically to have their hold on their source of income eg oluomo and his group. Was it not so with the LP candidate in Lagos, just because he has an igbo mother he was termed not a proper Yoruba and Lagosian even by those not from Lagos state?
Some even went as far as saying even if their person will destroy the country and make them paupers, they do not mind as far as their person is on seat.
The earlier all sections of this country, Igbos, Yorubas, Hausa etc remove tribalism from our politics, the faster Nigeria will progress.
The alternative is to appeal to UK to provide us a president, Russia a minister of finance and cbn governor (see how they managed the Russian economy despite the sanctions), American to be minister of Defense (because they like war), American as oil minister ( because the like oil and will bring war democracy to our neighbors with oil, We will grab their oil), Israeli as agric minister (they will grab all the farm land in Niger, Chad, Cameroon etc, they like to grab land eg Palestinian land), Norwegian as water resources minister (they like water too much and we will grab all the fish around Ghana, Cameron etc). Let's kukuma outsource governance if that is what will make Nigeria better.

Even when Buhari was a president, most Northerners suffered and refused to question the system.

The point is, leadership in Nigeria isn't about tribe but about self-interest. But would readily make use of tribe and region when seeking for votes.

When you vote incompetence, you suffer it, irrespective of who you voted.

When Seun Tinubu used the airforce1 , he's reaping what he worked for. When you suffer as a citizen, you're equally suffering from what you planted as a leader.

That is what we are saying.
Inflation is a very terrible thing.

A country with 30% inflation regime followed by successive growths of 5% nominally, will see a return to the standard of living point before the fact after 6 long years, all things being equal, which as we all know is beyond the tenure of any democratically elected government and that is assuming inflation over that period is next to zero (which is just impossible).

It takes so, so, so much effort to rebuild an economy after harsh inflation, it takes such a long time for things to normalize, and that is why governments the world over fear inflation as much as they fear internal rebellion and armed conflict.

Because runaway inflation throughout history has been a trigger for those things, wide range of social instability. Governments have fallen, democracy lost, dictatorships taking over, sovereignties compromised.

That is why I often sit and wonder how come our government has not declared inflation a national emergency requiring all the focus, attention and resources of state to fight it. It is as if there is a massive gamble, a huge leverage on democracy that the bleeding of the future of the people will have no consequence.

One can only sit and watch... trying to read how this country is going to end up.
