I was on Facebook when someone posted this photo and added that "drinking garri will never be your portion".

I wonder why people think that drinking garri is a sign of economic hardship when you can actually spend more on it than on many other food types. As for me, no matter what happens - even if I am elected the Governor of Kogi State grin
- I can never stop enjoying "Otto" with gnut and milk.

Or, could this be a queer taste I acquired from attending a boarding school? Who else is with me on loving this food?

Meanwhile, kindly share a guy name you have for seaped garri in your part of the world. As for me, in my boarding school, we called it "Otto" and we practiced "soak and travel" to add value to it.

Is your boarding school ADS, that seminary? At seminary, we use to charge Otto overnight.

I can't forget how I use to drink garri in Aksu those days. But now I drink only when I feel like. Not because of scarcity.

I drink my Garri straight with Sugar Ice water with little ice block

I don't like distraction

And it must be Ijebu and Yoruba Garri

No Ibo yellow Garri that I hate, that one is only good for Eba

.
Yellow garri is not peculiar to only the ibos. It is mostly made and consumed by the south Southerners.

Funny enough, I remember drinking garri in my sleep yesternight. I was thinking about it throughout yesterday but I’m scared for my health.

I so much enjoy it as a kid, but unfortunately, my stomach grows younger the more I age. Eating garri can be detrimental to my overall wellbeing.

But e don tey fa.

Mine is SASCO - St. Augustine's Seminary Campus One. Which one is ADS? Looks like Otto is a language of all minor seminaries.

I wonder while will anybody leave other cereals like Golden mourn and decide to take garri that is not good for the health

Let's be honest with ourselves here, garri drinking is common with poor people because it's cheap to get...that should be the only reason you're taking garri

There are two types of people drinking garri

1. Some are drinking it because they are poor, and they the cheapest food they could afford.
2. Some are drink it, because they haven't eating it in a while or simply feel like eating it.

So if you hear may drinking garri, not be your portion....it is coming from a poor people perspective.......

I am not a fan of Eba, but once in a while I drink it....with iced cold water, lots of ground nuts, herring ( dried shawa ), milk or cocoa power and sugar...

Garri plus peanut, milk, chocolate and honey is best taken after passing through the hot Nigerian sun!

Garri snack is best taken when soaked in cold water medium.

Soaking garri has always been a staple snack in ₦igeria.

Garri flakes( aka soak and travel) can never be as useless as Nigerian political class.

Add Cold water there + Fried Chicken/Turkey grin
