Our overreliance on oil money is why we have economic problems.

The fact is, Nigeria needs oil at a price above 130 dollars a barrel before we can say we have enough money. The problem is, oil has for the most part since 2014 been too low to meet our revenue needs. Hence the massive borrowing, and as a result the massive debts we have.

What sane governments should do is simple. DIVERSIFY THE ECONOMY. APC ran on that platform since 2014, and took over in 2015. You can see they have failed to do it (Oil forms 80% of our revenue as at today).

I'm not a fan of emefiele, but CBN governors do not run the economy, they introduce measures to mittigate the effects of a bad economy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not, but at the end, economic policy comes from the Presidency. And since 1960, all our leaders have run resource dependent economies. Leaving us prone to debt due to having to take loans when prices of your resource fall.
