How his fights benefit you?. He fought for nothing positive. Being an academic giant doesn't make you a good leader. I still respect Gani Fawehinmi and Tai Solarin more than him.. Dele Farotimi is my favourite yoruba leader now.

A comment like this for instance is why I stay away from Nairaland. Some comments are purely myopic and laced with sentiments. From your language use, you sound like an educated person, but on a closer look at your reasoning I have my doubts.

Ignorant Peasant were you not against the subsidy removal in 2012, Yes or No?

Ten years after, you want to blame others for an action you whole heartedly supported?

Don't you think it's stupid to be comparing how people run their family to how Tinubu is running the country?
It's like someone applied for a job alongside other candidates and after 6 months he's been found to be incompetent but your excuse for the person is that others should come and do the job if it's easy. Why did he apply for the job if he knew he couldn't do it?
So far Tinubu has displayed gross incompetence in the way he's running the country's economy.
And if your excuse is he met a mess on ground, is he not a part of the mess he met on ground. Is it not an APC government he himself is a part of that handed over to him, so what exactly is you zombies point of argument.

Sometimes you need to understand things are different. During GEJ, no Refinery was working. Now, we have Dangote and others coming on Stream.

No body supported fuel subsidy removal in 2012 and eventually in 2023. We all want our fuel subsidy but you the president are the one to stand your ground because you know what it entails. You see what we don't see and you should be able to stand your ground. That's what Tinubu did that Jonathan could not do. The way even GEJ himself broke the news was odd. He broke it during new year celebration which trapped a lot of people in the place they went to celebrate New year. Many were also preparing to pay school fees. Jonathan in himself was a good leader but he is too soft as a person. You can't attain positions of power and be that soft. You must be firm. So, you blaming Soyinka for Jonathan's inaction is an act of high level ignorance.
you guys got excuses for everything ,buhari apppointed only fulani people to every sensitive positions in his goverment you people say buhari can appoint people he trust, the prople he trusted embezzled every kobo in his goverment, now tinubu is appointing only his people ,show me your friend

Who presented the 2011 budget? So, if he criticised him in 2012,the criticism came after observing GEJ's performance for over a year. This is consistent with Soyinka's policy

Why is everything always about ethnicity for y'all? Why is it difficult to think outside the box?

I don't follow Nigeria politics but this man clearly stated he even advised Mr. Tinubu not to rule for president!
