Tribalism instead led to transfer of Federal Capital from Lagos to Abuja.

It's normal in other countries to distribute government departments to all over the country.

Honestly it so annoying turning everything to tribalism. When the Federal capital was moved from Lagos to Abuja then it wasn't tribalism but now just splitting over-populated govt office is now tribalism.

Anyone not please with the move can resign and go to his hometown where only angels lives there.

The quality of contribution to this topic is to say the least poor and disappointing.

No wonder HR specialists are always complaining that most Nigerian graduates are un- employable.

With online banking you don’t have to go to a head office to do audit
Infact most of your audits are either printouts you can get from ANY branch of the bank in the country or hard copies generated mostly from online transactions

What do you know about audit? Nothing, obviously

Like Abuja like Imo state's Owerri.
Govt infrastructures clustered in a place induce rapid development in the place.
All federal government infrastructures are in Abuja.
Owerri people cornered and are still coming 100% federal government infrastructures in Imo state for location in Owerri alone. No consideration whatsoever for what can induce development in other parts of Imo state. Owerri people now celebrate the rapid urban development and expansion of Owerri as they sell a plot of native land in Owerri and become instant millionaires. Nothing left to induce development in other places in Imo state.
The other cities in Imo state are crumbling.
Abeg, take some departments of CBN to other parts of Nigeria, not just the branches alone.

Cardoso has not done anything meaningful at CBN. Apart from terrorizing staff that is. The man is pushing his dumbass agenda while Nigeria's monetary policy environment remains uncertain.

He quickly raised his allowances along with those of the deputy governors while witchunting staff. He has proved to be worse than Emefiele after just a few months. He is simply a Tinubu hatchetman

If Cardoso is still in office when Nigeria has a new president, he will definitely get the Emefiele treatment and worse.

When Hadi Sirika moved all aviation parastarals to Abuja, did anyone tag it as tribally motivated?

Abuja is the capital of Nigeria. Is Lagos the capital of Nigeria?

I stopped reading this thing when the writer said "it is tribalism" so now everything is tribal?

Ok, it is tribal do your worst or resign then because it is getting annoying reading stuff like this.

Every govt always try to decongest a particular parastatal in as far job security is not under a threat so moving a dept to Lagos or Enugu or Kaduna has nothing to do with tribalism.

Stop all these tribal nonsense pls......
Between Abuja and Lagos which of them should be decongested? grin grin

What about the safety concerns ? The building was designed specifically for a number of people . It has been exceeded . It is very dangerous to overload a structure like that .

Lastly it is majorly big men pikins in CBN . Their parents get money to facilitate the move talk less of the money people make in CBN .

It's because we think in terms of how my tribe can benefit from government jobs.

This is the best decision to curb the nonsense going on at the apex Bank.
Its funny some Nigerians are short sighted and don't understand how important it is to move some departments from the current location.

This should have been done since 2012.
Its the only way to break corruption at the CBN. Kudos to this government
Akuya!! The same 2012 that Tinubu stood against subsidy removal?
The useless northerners that voted for Tinubu I hope they are seeing the hand writing on wall.
Next the federal capital will be moved to Lagos.

Banking supervision is not about political correctness - it is about transaction/deal size and access to bank documents and servers. How much of the US Federal Reserve's work is done in Washington?

The question is what are those departments of CBN eg Banking Supervision doing in Abuja in the first place. Those greedy staff want to be taking estacodes and flight tickets and hotel money every month instead of staying in the place where 95% of all the banking/financial headquarters that they are supervising are based.
There was a time Abacha even took NPA and NIMASA head office to Abuja before the madness was reversed during the civilian rule. The sooner we get more efficient and start saving costs the better for us.
I believe those foolish northerners are regretting their Muslim Muslim ticket.
Infact, Tinubu should just move the federal capital to Lagos..

Indeed, I've long theorized that moving Nigeria's capital from Lagos to Abuja was the beginning of taking away power from the people.

You see, when the capital was in Lagos with it's huge population of underprivileged citizens, people could easily register their frustration through protests directly at the government house. This is despite the governments were military regimes then.

Moving the capital to a well-off neighborhood like Abuja means that the very people feeling the worst of the government's wrong policies are no longer near the government house to register their frustration every now and then.

This is why the Nigerian government can get away with anything since then.

Why was their new Lagos head office built in the First instance? Sanusi Lamido even fitted it with an helipad. The building is wasting away till date. I still have pictures of their empty offices with me as I speak.

They are better off situated in Lagos than Abuja because almost all Banks are headquartered in Lagos.

The key function of CBN is Banking services supervision. You can't do that effectively when your H/O is in Abuja.

These CBN guys travel down to Lagos almost everyday and then raise crazy expense claims on Travel, flight, hotel Accomodation, local estacodes to the tune of several millions.

These leakages should be plugged.

N.B: My position is not borne out of tribalism.

#Bitter fact

These 3 agencies absolutely have no business in Abuja.

1. CBN
2. NNPC
3. FAAN (Aviation)
why not move The Federal capital to Lagos.
Thank God those foolish northerners are watching.

You are on point. Why relocating people to a state they asked people to go to their own region? Infact, all bank headquarters should go to Abuja. Lagos is now tribal enclave.
