Indeed, I've long theorized that moving Nigeria's capital from Lagos to Abuja was the beginning of taking away power from the people.

You see, when the capital was in Lagos with it's huge population of underprivileged citizens, people could easily register their frustration through protests directly at the government house. This is despite the governments were military regimes then.

Moving the capital to a well-off neighborhood like Abuja means that the very people feeling the worst of the government's wrong policies are no longer near the government house to register their frustration every now and then.

This is why the Nigerian government can get away with anything since then.

Moving the capital from Lagos is the best decision that the Nigerian government ever took..

Between Lagos and Abuja:
Why are you pained now,a tribal gigost
like you?
When your Buhari spent 8- years, doing nothing and destroyed the economy, you are enjoying it, because he is a Northerners and you think all Northerners love to see Nigeria go down in Committee of Nations? No, except few-elites like you who is always crying -wolf when there is none!
• What is CBN doing with Over 4000 Staff? What manners of Special Services are they Offering or selling- are these not overbloating Staff , draining Nigerian Purse?
• When NPA moved their headquarters to Abuja initially,Sebi, there is Ocean and High Sea Waters for the Ship to bearth and land in Abuja and why did they come back to Apapa or why can't you use Computer to monitor their progress,in High Sea Waters? Awon olodo!
• the other lady up there reason through anus ' let ALL Banks move their Headquarters to Abuja'- can you see low life thinking- and how much of the Banking System do you know?
Can you maintain those Headquarters- without Businesses?
• Dangote Refineries too should be producing in Abuja, because Abuja na Capital! Do you know the large Numbers of Waters those Machines used every minutes?
That is why Serious business men think in Progression Growth, unlike those that dwellings in ethnic bigots baselines and you wander, why their Own States remained undeveloped!
These are the Nigerians with tribalism in their blood and can't diffentiate between a Financial Capital( Lagos) and Political Capitals( Abuja)- all over the World!
I have been to Abuja several times and you can see that nothing is going on , except to share our National Resources or build Houses here and there, just show me progress, since your leaders- ran to Abuja without preparation ,during the political rascality, how far you have prosper and what Productions you have made,in Abuja since!
• Lagos State will never slow -down and you can see New Horizons here- New Airport ( Lekki),New Sea Ports,New Lekki Peninsular Hubs and New Lekki Economic Development Growth and the New Towns Railway- intercity, moving in different directions!
So,for CBN Staff, that are used to cheapy Traveling Estacodes, coming to Lagos,is like you are likely to increase our Population and inconvenient us,so you can stay put there in Abuja doing nothing,as usual, because,Lagos Kolo ,Kosi- re- ibikan!
Lagos de Kanpe!
you sound so foolish.
According to you buhari destroy the economy but Nigerians were living better than what they are going through now.
Dangote refinary is a private business he has every right to choose where it should be.
How much was fuel during the eight years of buhari?
The Dangote refinary came to existence because of support from the same buhari.
A dollar was 400 naira, now one dollar is 1500 naira.
Go to pharmacy a drug of 5k during buhari time is now 55,000 as Tinubu took over.
Major international companies were doing business in Nigeria but today they had to run to Ghana within 6 months of the drug lord.
Compare the inflation rate between buhari and Tinubu.
Tinubu have all his businesses in Lagos but nobody challenge him on that because that is his personal decision.
CBN is a federal agency and no drug lord has the right to relocate it without the people approval.
As foolish as you sound you may think Tinubu is the alpha and Omega but I will advise you to go and ask Obasanjo when he tried that.
I just pray for Tinubu to move that department to Lagos , the north will speak loud and clear in 2027.

So you now accept Abuja as part of the north.

They used to count 19 states in the north. The sin of Northern military dictators who used land mass or population figures to proliferate 20 new federating units in the northern region but allowed only 17 states in the two southern regions that formed Nigeria with the North in 1960 is what led Nigeria to be producing leaders largely decided by the northern political class.
the northern military left power since 1998, southerners has been rulling more than the northerners in this civil rule, what stop them from giving 30 states to the south.
Thank God all those idiots in the north that they used religion to decieve them are those that are feeling the heat.

The capital of a country is not supposed to be the economic hub of that country...

All countries places their capitals cities in places that are less congested... To give the country a national government presence

Us capital is not in newyork or San Francisco
Brazil is not in Rio or Sao Paulo
Even Egypt is now moving it's capital from Cairo

What exactly is your point

Most of those CBN branches in some state capitals are new. Of course with the exception of the ones that served as Regional offices in Ibadan, Enugu, Kaduna, Benin etc.

If you see the new one in Osogbo, you go fear fear itself.

It is possible to have more than.one capital
South Africa has three one for judiciary, one for executive and one for legislature
A complex country like Nigeria probably needs the same

Just search Google for countries with more than one capital

I think Nigeria should have four capitals Abuja Kaduna Enugu and Ibadan. Not Lagos has nothing

Location of CBN bank supervision department has nothing to do with capital city but location of banks
Why is the North not complaining location of defence institutions in Kaduna
