He's eating a lot and also consuming a lot of energy daily.

During holidays, follow the egg routine and loads of carbs and protein but this time, he shouldn't have play time.
Just eat, rest, sleep, eat

If symptoms persists after 3wks....bro some things wrong.

You should Deworm him asap, and he might just have a very active metabolism. I was very skinny too when I was young and when my growth sprout stopped, I started to put on some muscle and look totally buffed now. Might be nothing to worry about, just do some test and make sure he's ok

Just call 7UP to come and use him for live advert grin grin

On a serious note, there is nothing much to worry about, the so called depreciation I believe started immediately he became a pubescent. It's one of the attributes... The way you pictured him here, I think your son will grow up to become brawny and physically 'huge', he is still growing abeit scratching the surface for now grin

Where I find issue is with his mouth opening shocked, make sure he doesn't grow with that because it's a bad habit, I will suggest, you keep his mouth busy by giving him bubble gum to chew quarterly every day shocked

My humble submissions, I hope it helps to allay your worries kiss

Thanks alot, we will try that too

Hi guys, please I really need your help.

I have a twelve years old son who is very lanky, he looks d*mn too malnourished for comfort. He was very robust from birth till around the age of 8, when all of a sudden he started depreciating, initially, we thought it was a normal thing, as he was growing taller too, but now, I can't even bring myself to post his pictures on my status. He looks just like 7up's Fido Dido.

Now, this is a boy who eats whatever he wants, he's well fed, and lacks nothing. But with his looks, you will doubt that he's even fed at all. Although he looks far from being healthy, but he rarely falls sick. He's so skiny that whoever sees him, asks us what's wrong with him. Another thing, he always leaves his mouth opened, something that has now affected his teeth. We tried every tricks in the book to stop this, but to no avail, he can hardly keep his lips shut for more than 30 seconds.

Now, he's is a very hyperactive boy and finds it difficult concentrating atimes, but he's well above average in school.

Kindly help with solutions to this problem, it brings tears to my eyes as we have done everything we can think of to reverse this. Recently, a doctor suggested we place him on egg regimen, he now eats 3 eggs daily, but there seems to be no changes whatsoever.
Recommended medications, specialist or hospital we can take him to, preferably in the South West would be highly appreciated.

He's my only child, please help a desperate father!!!🥺

Na by force?

Leave the guy alone. The only concern I see here is the opening mouth something.

I was lanky from birth that friends give me different names to corroborate that.

Being lanky free you from many bodily diseases. No matter how I eat, I don’t go fatter than normal, which makes me learn to just eat as my body needs.

I am sure the guy will grow well into a fine handsome man. (Just focus on the teeth)

Me for example, regardless of my lanky look, I never struggle to get female attention. (I feel it’s strange that people are complaining about how hard it’s for them to get women)

And I am currently in my mid twenties. I am just developing more manly features which gives me the look of a giant. I am sure I will clock thirty before I fully develop.

If he maintain an healthy habit, he will live longer before experiencing old age diseases. Because his body grow slowly.

This case makes me remember my cousin sister that looks just like me. Her mum had a similar worry and started pumping her with drugs. She grew one funny shape like that. lol.

But see her now, a very beautiful girl with the right shape.

Why worry about the shape of a kid? Don’t you have better things to do with your time?

Well, you won't understand, it's just that I can't share his pictures. Thanks for the contribution though

But I, the father is AA and the mum, AS. And like I mentioned, he rarely falls sick.

Hmmm, do all the tests necessary including genotype. What you described is not normal

1. Deworm him
2. Take him to a dentist, there maybe dental reason why his mouth is always open. Could be tooth or gum disease.
3. Get him some multivitamins.
3. If you are still worried take him for a checkup.

Remember he is just 12yrs old and still growing, he maybe hyperactive with a high metabolism. People like that dont add weight easily as their body burns fuel more. There are 3 types of body shapes; Mesomorph, Ectomorph & Endomorph. Ectomorphs are lean and tend to have less body fat and smaller muscles than the others.

If he's up to 14 let him start hitting the gym. Same age Arnold Schwarzenegger started bodybuilding. I have boys less that age at where I work out.

Tips:
1. Hit the gym twice daily. Morning he should work on upper body lifting weights.. Assign a gym instructor for him let them put him through on benching and curling programs for a start. For evening he should work on legs. Make sure the gym has a bench press machine. He should also partake in squats and other leg building programs.

2. He should normalize eating either beans, cooked eggs, youghurt or a good amount of steak after a rigorous workout and stay hidrated afterwards. He could eat any other food Inbetween

3. He should stop eating late night foods and sleep at least 7 hours daily.

Try it for 6 months and see results for yourself. Unless he has internal deformities that restricts his body from forming muscles them no born am well make he no swell up.

That's Hypotalamus. He needs parenchyma, colenchyma,

Kindly consult a doctor. Also ensure he takes enough water mixed with ginger and carrot.

Then always give him pineapple, orange, carica papaya and water melon.

Whatever you do in this life make sure that boy doesn’t become a mouth breather. It’ll ruin the shape of his skull as an adult or teenager. He will have it difficult in life

Let him be.
You did not mention his age but just let the boy be, he will gain weight as he grows. My nephew was lanky in his early teens but now at 17 you'd mistake him for an amateur boxer cheesy
