Let me give you an honest opinion, that's exactly what I'm using now.. they already configured the new meter to " trip off" when current drop and ON once the current goes up again. God knows I hate the meter. The meter does not supply low current.

Trust me, no solution. When that of our meeting house started doing the same thing, they took it away twice and returned it, still the same. That was after we have collected tamper codes tired! Last last, we found a way around it. That was like four 5 or more years ago

The breaker is faulty.

You might have to visit the nearest disco office so they can send their technician to fix it.

Don't use local electrician to prevent "tamper" issue oo

@Poster read this point again and again. This is the only solution to the problem!

Two main causes.
1. Low voltage
2. Faulty circuit breaker within the PPM.

Do NOT engage local electrician.
Go-to your nearest business unit and lodge complaint officially with letter.
They will assign someone to come check it.
Resist the attempt to self help.

Try and check the status of your local transformer if it's supplying low or high voltage. Low voltage can also cause this. Or your breaker is malfunctioning.

The reason for the tripped off and on is as a result of the circuit breaker installed inside the Meter to help protect your appliances from getting burnt when there is overload and when your Meter get hot by tripping off and on when it cools down.Do you have a fridge, freezer and AC that you switch on simultaneously?The breaker has an amp that controls your unit from getting damage too.

It's an overload, over the years you have gradually increased some of the load in you household example: electrical equipment/appliances, so the circuit breaker attached to your meter is currently overloaded thereby preventing excess loads from getting the prepaid meter burnt by tripping OFF until you put it back ON and after some time it will still tripping OFF due to Meter been overloaded. The only temporary solutions is to always put OFF some appliances that are not in use and only the most important ones be ON. The longterm solution is to get a 3-phase prepaid meter because the one you're currently using is a single phase prepaid meter to solve the problem once and for all.

The Distribution company will tell you to replace the meter. Let them check the output for the neutral. If possible don't report to them. Find an independent qualified electrician to check it for you. It could be from the pole.

My name is Frank, ARMESE installer.what is happening to the meter is simple.the neutral wire on the pole is arcing, there by opening the relay.
What u need to do is to look for an electrician to check the wires on the pole and possibly reconnect the neutral wire.

Replace your circuit breaker, its bad. If there is no breaker, it's time to get one

Firsts, what's the maker is your meter.
I'll suggest you change the breaker of that meter cos that's main thing that causes a meter to trip off but if it persists , you'll need to change/rerun your connection. It'll definitely stop. If you need any more assistance, do not hesitate to call or send me a WhatsApp message on 08066657473

That is an evident to a simple harmonic distortion. Call Electrician from "NEPA" direct to fix it to avoid fire outbreak as a result of negligence. Na wetin dey cause most fire outbreaks so you don't start referring to Village people or even Tinubu.

. Check the wiring if not joined, report to nepa office

OP look for two naked wires, bite each one with both sides of your teeth.

If they don't respond then that's the fault & fix it.
If they respond then consider this an RIP to you in advance.

That's why it is misbehaving. A directive has been given since last year for customer to upgrade meter. I can send you a link where u can input Ur meter number and general the kct code to input on Ur meter.

If at the long run Ur meter still didn't work well, go and complain at their office..

The load rating in your house is more than the rating of the prepaid meter hence the breaker trips off repeatedly. Get a certified technician to confirm

Call an electrician and change the circuit breaker..
The breaker may be faulty or burnt...
Check if there's any wire partially connected..
Check if the fault is not from the roof..
Check the Meyer circuit breaker

Low voltage, or neutral failure

The circuit breaker is probably faulty.

I once had the same issue in the past, just call Ur NEPA unit technician to fix it.

I think it use to have a fuse or breaker inside that triggers the problem or you invite an electrician or NEPA official
