Why will they get the money? Are they executive? Is their job not to make law?

Why do we like behaving like barbarians and beer parlour analysts?

Constituency project is not a new thing for the legislators of the National Assembly?

Again, legislators never ever get the same amount.

It is not personal enjoyment money that was shared to them.

Agreed it is not personal enjoyment money, but times without number we have seen how some have converted it to one.

Finally, a sane human being.

Your fears are justified. That is where the EFCC and ICPC come in if the National Assembly itself does not have an organ that verifies the implementation of the budget components that relate to those constituency project allocation.

Even the whole budget, it is the responsibility of the National Assembly to verify that the Executive has implemented the budget as approved.
Re: N500m ‘Largesse’: I Received ₦266M - Senator Abaribe by cjfavour(m): 12:57am On Mar 14
Abaribe said he received the money, why are you turning it to he identified projects worth that sum? Are u fine tuning all these for NA? At what cost? Pls stop this, they received the money in their accounts which they're not supposed to. We'll wait till a senator come out to refute this but we all understand abaribe's comment only you that's twisting or fine tuning it.
Misterone:
This is really appalling! To believe that adults can no longer comprehend simple English! Not only that, no one does research anymore! FYI, this money's are not paid into the accounts of the senators! All they do is decide on the project to be done and choose the contractor to implement. So when Abaribe say "he got", what he's saying is that his constituency got.

Bullshit ! Money that is supposed given to local governments for the development of their Area .
They prefer given it to senators to be used for funding their elections.
We have a long way to go in Nigeria.

This government always wants us to believe they have a revenue problem but the truth is that the biggest problem with this government is the expenditure problem.

They always find a way to take care of themselves while they tell citizens to bear the hardship. Any expenditure that concerns the masses will cause inflation, and so they find a way to jettison it but buying SUVs and renovating car parks with billions won't cause inflation

Take the student loan for instance, how many times have they postponed that one? I just pray this present hardship in the land would teach us a lesson to not joke with our votes come next elections.

The rot in this system is just too mich. Our problem isn't because we aren't producing anything. But that the thieves in government at every level is 100%.

Stop blaming the devalued naira on onflow and outflows. The problem is corruption and nothing else
This I have said time and time again. It is all corruption.
Once they receive the money, the first thing is to call their aboki and change it to dollars, thereby putting pressure on the naira. Same thing with other proceeds of corruption eg the 500m briefcase contract, the 500m humanitation money paid to personal account. Too much easy stollen billions, trillions chasing the dollar.

Constituency project money for members of national assembly in Nigeria is a very big scam, for instance which member of the national assembly both former and current, can point to a small meaningful project to help the masses in their constituency or senatorial district.?

but why can't the amount be based on need but rather it is based on whether you are a ranking senator or not.
Also why are they referring to "I was given" not my constituency.

Bloody idiotic criminals
Very soon, a spanish kinda revolution would happen in Nigeria.
The gap between the rich and the poor is too much in this country
No revolution would happen here, the masses would rather continue fighting themselves along party lines as well as religion and ethnicity lines, than unite against the top politicians.

Shame on the senators,HOR members ( I know HOR added their own too) And most of the electorate cut across parties line (APC majorly by leading with example, PDP, LP, APGA) for electing criminals base on popularity and not base on integrity .

If not Senator Ningi, no Nigerian would have known some senators received N500M or N288M for constituency projects and yet most of the Northern Senators will still not do anything for the poor Northerners constituencies
