It doesn't matter anymore because you're now being charged like someone who is on estimated billings. If your prepaid meter is useful, you wouldn't be placed on a unique higher tariff grin grin grin. Olodo

Dear agbadorians what is the take of Reno Omockery on the electricity increment?
Abi is he and Bwala researching how the same thing is applicable in other countries forgetting that minimum wage of those countries are more than 500% of Nigeria's current minimum wage?

Wrong information spreads faster. The people that are on band A tariff amount are not even up to 20% percent of the total population.

Good speech with a surprisibg ending.
Abeg how United States of America take enter the matter.

TheNobleProphet:
The electricity tariff increase is extremely unfortunate and disheartening at this time because this would cause so much pain to majority of Nigerians!

Honestly, this is the right time the Federal Government would need to "as a matter of urgency" "institutionalize the minimum wage" in Nigeria both at Public and Private sectors.

To achieve "a more robust and realistic minimum wage" for workers in Nigeria, the Government would need to extremely block all leakages like direct embezzlement and stealing of funds by all public office holders at all levels of Governance!

GOD bless Nigeria!

GOD bless United States of America!

Expanding on the argument (using N1,300 = $1 conversion rate):

Electricity in North Dakota (US) is N130 per KWH, minimum wage is N1.3 million naira monthly

Electricity in Texas (US) is N195 per KWH, minimum wage is N1.3 million naira monthly

Electricity in Nigeria is N225 per KWH, minimum wage is N30,000 naira monthly
In summary, there is no Band A or B or C, u pay what u consume.

This your mentality is too bad a mentality. What stops you from reasoning in this direction, once they start giving us constant electric supply, then they can think of increasing their charges. Now the supply is still in it's low level, for what reason are they increasing the tariff? Government paying for subsidy on electricity that we don't have.

This message is for the naira land management.
How will your platform be allowed for peddling misinformation.
How can an utility bill charge for a section of Nigerians be used as the general energy Bill for the entire country. Giving room for anger spillage from citizens

Better for the charges to be high at the beginning while they rake something from it to improve their service than charge less and provide poor service .

With more clients, the rate will drop

Nigerians are using prepaid meter, you will only pay for what you use.

South Africans and Canadians don't use prepaid meter
you don't seems to understand how this electricity of a thing work. The increament will be transferred to prepaid users also. The unit has reduced for some people as a result of the increament. It'd also lead to increase in prices of goods and services. Remember Nigerians are struggling to feed at this crucial time. Subsidy was removed on crude oil, tuition fees was increase, price of goods and services was increase, electricity increase, maybe the next would be healthcare. In a country with high percentage of poor masses. This is so sad

The question still subsists if you can afford it.

It is obvious you are a poor student of mathematics if not, you won't be claiming to be what you are not.

Sit down. Take a pen. Calculate usage based on 1 unit per hr for 30 days and come back to tell me you can afford it.

Mind you, if you are using less than 1 unit per hour, it is obvious you are a below average Nigerian in your consumption

That was my point before your half-brain resorted to insulting your illiterate father.

You are comparuing Nigeria to countries with advanced power supply. Nigeria is expensive because demand is high while supply is low. Its simple economics. The more attractive our power sector is, the more generation and supply and the less we will pay. Also lets not forget that many nigeria bypass power leading to more loss.
is there any sense in what you are saying, so the people should suffer for the incompetence and ineptitude of government, the masses have suffered in you people hand

The problem with your type is that you cant pay such amount but will blindly support because of tribe.

If u want to increase tarrif then increase wages.
