Thanks for all the responses I got. You guys are wonderful.Very informative and helpful.
What do you think of vinyl tiles in the less traffic areas? Is it ok or ceramic better still? How is the laminate flooring doing in 9ja?Can I go for that in the upper level? Has any one installed it or know anyone who does a good job with it in 9ja?
Thanks to you'all.

If your looking at cost, you may go for vinyl tiles for the less traffic areas. Vinyl tiles are made from a plastic urethane compound and designed to look like traditional tiles. Available in various sizes, they also come in a variety of textures and colors. They are usually either self-adhering or glue-less with a separate spray adhesive and don't require special tools for installation. Vinyl tiles are easy to lay and, depending upon the quality of the plastic, can be hard-wearing. They are also relatively inexpensive compared with traditional floor tiles.

However, vinyl tiles are hard-wearing enough to resist most day-to-day use, but may scratch if they come into contact with sharp objects. Although they resists moisture, any spills must be cleaned up immediately so the liquid doesn't seep through the joints and weaken the adhesive. When laying vinyl tiles, the floor surface must be completely clean and dry; otherwise, the glue may not adhere properly, and any imperfections in the floor are likely to show through unless the tiles are reasonably thick.

Precisely, you may install Vinyl (a.k.a Rubber/plastic Tiles) in the rented apartment. The lifespan is not comparable to any stone or ceramic made tiles.

Laminate floor looks good and much more affordable than many other materials in terms of upfront cost, and is very easy to install. It offers the rich look of hardwood, and is fairly comfortable underfoot. Laminate has a short lifespan compared to tile, and cannot be refinished or sanded like hardwood. It is also susceptible to scratches or dents that cannot be removed or repaired.

@Sprumbaba, the container loads here in Dallas and it's been transported to Galveston (Houston) for shipping.

I left 3feet set back from the road before mounting the fence.
Normally, I was supposed to have around 1feet after my fence
but since I left 3, I have 4feet now.

I plan to use this 4feet to plant at the front of my fence.
I'm certain that will add more beauty to my house
Peace

@caseymoney at al. Thanks for the education on tiles. On my recent trip to India, i happened to stay in an apartment and was trilled by the quality of the tiles used in the sitting room, kitchen and bathroom to the extent that i had to ask the Manager the name of the tiles and he said that they are Vertified tiles. Is there any difference between Vitrified tiles and Porcelain and Ceramics tiles. In addition, is Vetrified tiles sold in Nigeria.

atasteve:

Oga sir, please did you take any pix of this wonder edifice

NL1960:

@atasteve. It is not an edifice o. I just took the pictures of the tiles in the sitting room and bathroom. I will check my camera when i get home and post them tommorow. I took the pictures because i wanted to use them to search for such in Nigeria. What i learnt from the Manager is that the tiles are locally produced in Nigeria.

Below are the pictures of the Sitting room, bathroom and window (decided to include this because of the bulgary).

From the tiles shown above, the question is: 'Is there any difference between Vitrified tiles and Porcelain and Ceramics tiles. In addition, is Vetrified tiles sold in Nigeria'.
Re: The Finishing Of My House (Oluwa Champion) by caseymoney(m): 5:12pm On Dec 08, 2011
^^^Vitrified tiles are very similar to ceramic tiles, but are made with slightly different elements. The clay is mixed with quartz and feldspar before it is heated in the kiln. These extra ingredients melt, creating a glass element inside the tile. This glass component makes the vitrified tiles very hard and resistant to any type of absorption. The floor tiles in the bathroom has a shinny surface like vitrified tiles.

Vitrified tiles cost a couple of dollars more per square foot because of their extra qualities. Vitrified tiles also need a stronger adhesive than ceramic tiles, which can cost more in installation.

I was told there's a bigger tile market in Orile. They tend to cost between $8 and $20 dollars per square foot here in the US.

@Sprumbaba, I'm still looking for two more cars to fill the container. I would let you know once the required number of cars have been met; then, I'd be able to determine the space for the tiles.

@ OLUWA CHAMPION
This your house is just taking shape smoothly and nicely.
Am Loving it baedly.
Sorry, you had to change that your former roof

Coincidentally, i ran into the Nigerian reps for your former stone coated steel alloy roof right there in Enugu
they showed me the original manufacturer's names inscribed on it, LLG housing, a New Zealand company.
I googled it and got this site,
http://www.alibaba.com/product/ng117900968-113781084-102891514/stone_coated_metal_shingles.html

Hope this helps any other person that still wants to use that  shingles without getting skinned by Rogue dealers out there.
Personally i'm going for that for my private abode! You made me fell in love with it  Grin

@ Casemoney. Thanks for all the info. Where are you getting your tiles from in the US? Can you be more specific about the tiles you are using for the different rooms in terms of sizes and types. Do you have a good tiler in Nigeria. I will be starting my tiling soon. My email is folajimi@verizon.net
Re: The Finishing Of My House (Oluwa Champion) by caseymoney(m): 6:26am On Dec 09, 2011
^^^ You will find good tiles at any Home Depot or Lowes' stores. I'm Texas based, so I'm getting it from a floor shop in Ft Worth. Tiles are of different grade, quality and the price varies. It all depends on your pocket. Visit any Home Depot or Lowes store and speak with a floor specialist. I'm sure whoever you get will explain better with live samples on display.
