Deep Sight: I have often had the feeling that being the owner of this forum you would be the repository of all the wisdom and foolishness that has herein passed. It appears that you are the repository of the latter, but not of the former.

RomanceRe: What Is The Role Of A Nigerian Boyfriend? by 80kobo(m): 2:24pm On Jun 05, 2012
Aqva: My younger brother whom i give money told me that he is broke. I asked him what he usually does with all the money he receives from myself, my siblings and even my parents. The stupid boy told me that he gives his girlfriend N20,000 every month as allowance. A boy who is just 22years and still a student is giving a girl allowance angry I almost slapped the lad.
Is this what Nigeria has turned to? Is it now the responsibility of boys to take over the responsibilities of their babes even if they are students?
I'm just curious as i have since left the dating scene. In my time a girl would be so ashamed to even collect cash from you, she would only accept inexpensive gifts.
U cn still bring him for slapping o
FoodRe: Should Men Who Can't Cook Be Ashamed Or Proud? by 80kobo(m): 12:13am On Jun 03, 2012
acidtalk: I got a very big surprise earlier today.

A very good friend's father called me yesterday only to instruct me to come see him unfailinly today. When I got there, I was shocked as the old man told me myself and his two sons were going to help in out in the kitchen to cook for his wife's 62nd birthday as she was expected to fly in this afternoon (she has arrived).

He specifically wanted to prepare fish stew, meat stew, fried snail sauce, banga soup, salad, jollof and fried rice as well as egusi soup.

He did the "luck deep pick" by writting in paper what the four of use were going to prepare differently, long story short,

I was lucky to have selected the fish stew and egusi soup (but had to snap the fish stew with meat stew with my friend because I hadly or never even cook fish).

After preparing dinner and we serving it to the entire household with a few fimily friends who came to the small get together.
Without announcing who prepared what, to my greatest surprise it appeared by Egusi and and meat stew got a whole lot of compliments with the egusi being the overall winner (by everyone's vote). *winks*

After much talk about the idea of men knowing how to cook and how well it could help the homefront, I was struct by the statement of an elder man of over 80years saying at his age he still enters the kitchen once a while to help his wife out and that "a man should be Ashamed rather than proud for not knowing how to cook".

Fellow nairalnders do you agree with the above statement by this elderly man? A man who grew up from the very old generation where it was believed women should do ALL domestic chores. Without the man assisting.

a
Everyone has an opinion, as for me, I knew how to cook but conveniently forgot when I met my fiancee, she beat me hands down in cooking and I just love being pampered too anyway so nothing spoil... I love her company though so I just sit around close to the kitchen cracking jokes n making noise till the food is ready.

OLAKAD: nice one sir
how would clients in remote areas in the country be reached when they place orders?
If you stay in a large city I think you should have courier services that reach most states. For very remote areas, the buyer can pick up the item from the courier office in the city nearest to them. I usually receive stuff from Lagos this way.

BusinessRe: Selling Products Online From Nigeria by 80kobo(m): 5:59am On Jun 02, 2012
Get and customise a free shopping cart like oscommerce or open cart if you are on a budget,
Add an SSL certificate to your site
Integrate online payments, voguepay, cashenvoy or eyowo if you are on a budget too,
Get a UPS or DHL account or arrange with a close by courier service for prompt delivery
Use the money saved from the cheaper alternatives listed above (I would charge at least 350,000 doing 1-3 above for you) and blast relevant adverts everywhere.

BusinessRe: How To Detect A Scam Business Website by 80kobo(m): 5:36am On Jun 02, 2012
EMO GROUP: Thanks man. But what would you advice as someone like me who is new to the site should do? Though i think am trying in writing but i dont really know how to bid for jobs and the amount i should charge per job. And i think i love to write articles too. Can you help me on how i should go about the site? Thanks
I've never been a contractor there so saying I know how to succeed in that aspect would be a lie, I've only hired contractors from there, but let me try to be helpful,

1.) Write (and pass very well) all relevant tests for the category you know you are good at.

2.) Fill in your profile completely with a nice picture included. A more mature photo and higher educational qualifications would help u get higher pay sometimes.

3.) Fill in a portfolio of various jobs you've done previously (pdf's of write-ups would do)

4.) Apply to every new job in your category till you get one that hires you, make sure you make at least 10 applications a day, and don't give up, hardwork doesn't kill.

The first three are things I look out for before hiring. So set up your account, apply for your payoneer card from them & co, when you are done with everything send me an email here. I would hire you and if you do aa good and fast enough job, I'd leave a five star recommendation for you (that helps a lot too for future jobs).

For Article writing, make sure your English, Spellings, Concorde and Punctuations are flawless so people don't have to correct after you submit the job.

An average rate for Article writing on Odesk is between 1-5$ per. 300 words though some people charge as high as 20$, as they say, the difference between "kpekere" and plantain chips is the packaging. Start with the lower rates first to get a customer base, then later brand yourself for the plantain chips earnings

I know its work, but then, there's no success without work..

EMO GROUP: Guys i really appreciate your contribuction to this. But my question is '' is there any genuine site where one can do simple task and earn reasonable amount of money of his or her effort and get paid immediately ? I know of a site called microworkers.com and a friend of mine told me he knows somebody who is earning from this site but the problem now is that the site pays just too small amount of money and to me is a waste of time and money. Is it posible one find a site where he can earn at least 10 dollars daily doing jobs online? Guys please share with me.
Try odesk.com, I outsource a lot of my jobs there right here from Nigeria so I think you should be able to perform tasks there as a worker though the competition is steep.

BusinessRe: How To Detect A Scam Business Website by 80kobo(m): 7:08pm On Jun 01, 2012
goldline76: Yes the whois site is a very powerful tool to detect illegal websites especially these money making sites (you know what I mean). The whois dot ws site helps you know the origin of website, the location, the address and phone number of the owner, the date the site was hosted and the date it will expire. So its very important you take cognisance of the date the site will expire. If the date is very close to expire, FLEE from that site but if its 5years and above, better! And again if whois did not display the address and phone number of the owner of the site, make you take off like Ben Johnson. Na my own contribution be dis o!
This should always be combined with the google search from the first poster as there are some old domains that continue scamming for years without being pulled down.
BusinessRe: How To Detect A Scam Business Website by 80kobo(m): 7:07pm On Jun 01, 2012
EMO GROUP: Thanks man. But what is whois and how can one make use of it?
Go to whois.net and put in the suspicious domain name there. Or whois.sc/suspiciousdomain.com

080ict.com:
DEALERS ARE NEED IN ALL STATE IN NIGERI

You can now build extra income at your local base in other to making more income. You can make money X2 for the amount you buy.

How I Build My Potential Customers.

1. SCHOOLS: I started going to Schools (Government, Private, and Federal) around my environs. I was facing a big challenging when I went to secondary schools because all the students have come of age that they can deliver information to their parents except on important messages. I later limited my advert to primary and nursery schools. Directors of Private Nursery schools are the people that paid me much because those children (pupils) cannot talk. How do you convince them? Very simple, I draft my proposal to the principal/ director of the school stating the advantages of bulk sms and why they need it. I told them with bulk sms, they can reach to the parents of their students concerning any information (changes in school fees, meetings, misconduct of any student etc) and above all, having a customize senders name e.g. ROGANA, IK DAY CARE etc.
2. CHURCHES: I book an appointment to see the clergy in-charge after which I will explain my purpose of coming. I also made a lot of cash here. Some churches used to send weekly activities to their members, wedding/ traditional marriage invitations’, burial invitations, birthday etc and above all, crusade campaign. I have generated not less than 50,000 phone numbers from the people that I have been sending messages. I used the opportunity to ask them to pay me for massive sms advert.
3. HOTELS, BANKS, MARKET TRADERS, CLUBS: I am been paid to offer bulk sms service to advertise or reach out or find more customers that will patronize them in their service.
4. UNIVERSITIES: I normally meet the course rep of every department in some institutions I have visited, telling them to use the services in reaching to their fellow course mate based on current information’s in their courses or departments.
5. INDIVIDUALS: Some people also paid me to send birthday, wedding or traditional marriage, surprise messages to their love one etc
6. POLITICIANS: I am among the people that benefits from Anambra Senatorial political elections. I set many messages at rate of N3.50, imagine how many numbers I generated and multiply with N3.50….
7. VISITING SOCIAL NETWORKS: due to the fact that I have full internet access in my house and office, I used that opportunity to visit forum websites (nairaland, naijaweblog etc), Dating sites (facebook, Tagged, twitter) to advertise my sites. Visit http://www.facebook.com/princeudonna and see for yourself. Sometime I will set my website to a default homepage to all cybercafé systems so that people that bought ticket will first visit my site before going to other sites.
You can discover better ways than mine.

Nice one
BusinessRe: How To Detect A Scam Business Website by 80kobo(m): 4:17pm On Jun 01, 2012
EMO GROUP: I have noticed that my fellow nairalander are used to introducing sites which they have not been comfirmed working and thereby putting other members in the position of wasting their time and effort all in the name of referal business and thats the main reason why i write this topic in other for us to rub minds on ways we can search out if an online business is genuine or not before introducing it to other members of this forum. Am going to be sharing my own little knowledge and i will be expecting you to add yours so we all can learn in order to increase our opportunity of making money online. To me if your are aiming of working for a site either its referal, ptc etc try and google it out first to see reviews of what other people think of the site that have probably worked with the site. You can do this by going to google type the site url, give a space and type the word SCAM i.e you want to search if www.click.com is genuine all you have to do is go to Google and type the word www.click.com scams and google will give you series of websites that reviews the website you are making research of to know either is genuine or not. NOTE: in the websites google will provide you do make sure you look at the url of each of them so as not to do mistake as to be refered to the scam site for review and make sure you look at reviews of at least 5 sites through same medium before registering it and refering people to the site at least it will reduce the numbers of ungenuine sites that will be introduce here.
Nice one.. Also check the whois information for verifiable contact information.
