edoyad: With the excess options we have upfront, I am beginning to suspect this season might be interesting. I remember when we had Bergkamp, Henry, Reyes, Ljunberg and *someone I can't recall*, mehnn those were the days.
Left to me nobody should be loaned out till January. The prospect of having Walcott, Giroud, Podolski, Sanogo, Sanchez and Campbell all in the mix is mouth watering.

Pires.

"Last english club to win a trophy".Why not the only North London club to win a trophy? Keep deluding yourself.Specialists in failure.

Really hope we get one of Khedira or Carvalho, but I like to keep my expectations low so I'm expecting Coquelin contract extension instead.

Whoever planned our 2014 preseason needs to be queried. Compared to seasons past and compared to other top teams, we have not played enough games and I am worried about players' preparedness for Sunday's game.

After the world cup, I don't really think we need a gruelling preseason schedule. Thank heavens we don't even have to worry about losing players to the 2015 ACN in January, may be that's why Aurier lost out to Debuchy.
My biggest worry is this Ebola scare, hope it doesn't develop into something that affects the start of the league.

True but we have about 5 first team players who didn't go to the world cup - WS1, Gibbs, Ramsey, Arteta, Diaby and then we can also add Rosicky, Flamini, Monreal. Other teams currently playing friendlies also had players at the world cup

Add that to the fact that we have at least 3 new players joining our team for the new season, players who are yet to blend with the team and who will most likely start the season due to the absence of the Germans.

I just feel we are one or two games short. Even if it's a friendly with a league 1 or Championship side. Giroud and Santi looked very rusty at Emirates cup and I don't see them getting back till maybe our second game in the EPL.

On the flip side though, considering our luck with injuries, not playing many preseason games may be a good thing. However, our players get injured even during training so ...

And that makes the first game a must-not-lose one
Wenger should shed his love for ultra attacking gungho and focus on ball retention, proper marking at corners and consistent shape and balance between offense and defense

That goal scored by Falcao is so typical

Think outside of the box.... The benefit of the emirates competition to the team, is bigger than the bloody cup.

Diaby is a first team player? grin grin grin

Don't you need to play to be considered a FT player? cheesy

We're games short no doubt, but there was little we could do with a depleted squad. The new buys apart from Chambers also had extended breaks due to the WC as well.

The players that didn't go are looking sharp enough IMO, the rest will just have to pick up quickly. Also note the two extra CL games in August so there'll be no shortage of games for players to get their fitness up in. If we can get through August in decent shape we'll be fine.
