ipledge10: aliondo: I don't believe this is an accurate or fair report of the situation. Porz sat down with the Knicks and rightfully said he did not like the direction of the Knicks and would love to be traded. What are the Knicks supposed to do? They are not a competitive team at this time, so why keep a player who had declared in the meeting that he wants to leave? Problem is we don't hear so much from the owners because they choose to keep quiet while players do all the talking especially on social media and then get all the sympathy. Kristap demanded a trade and that is what happened. Can we stop already? |
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 10:11pm On Jan 31, 2019 |
If you're Porzingis I don't know that you want to squander your prime on a rebuilding team. Remember this was the same team whose fans were booing when he got drafted This is a great deal for the Mavs. Offloading Jordan and Matthews to get a younger Porzingis is an absolute robbery. The only downside is taking an unrepentant shot chucker like Hardaway Jr and his bogus deal but if that's what it takes to get the unicorn then it's a small price to pay |

Roland17:That Clippers team blew their chance at greatness after blowing that 3-1 lead to the Rockets. It was star crossed and doomed from then |

Roland17:I don't know the accurate situation either cos i am neither Porzingis or part of the Knicks board but it is what is put out there for all to see and that's what i commented on...I even put it out here so anyone with real info could put us through before we give our own opinions... |

Guys, please take it easy with media sensationalism, it is purposeful and sometimes the machination of player agents. Vet what you read properly before swallowing and believing the contents. 1 Like |

Roland17:I was g aware of this, but way trade work in American sport is just so different. In every other sport, they will do everything else except letting their best player go, even the manager will go first, even if it’s to sack the president. |
Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 10:48pm On Jan 31, 2019 |
kai. can knicks go any lower? sure they have a huge cap space, but i look forward to them mismanaging that too. that phil jackson hire was the biggest blunder imo. truly amazing how much damage one bad leadership decision can do. i wonder...was there any way to predict the greatest coach of all time would make such terrible missteps? |
Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 11:56pm On Jan 31, 2019 |
A40: Dude go hear what all the key players of that squad are talking about the breakup it was not because the players wanted it but the management. As for the spurs, name another team where a bench player has such pull as Manu ginobili did. The spurs way was always about doing the right thing, if players see that then they know that their best years will not be wasted. I don't follow football that well, but I remember hearing Shannon sharpe say that a lot of players are willing to take a lower pay just to play for the Patriots because they know that there is a good chance to win. |
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 11:57pm On Jan 31, 2019 |
birdman: So many of your assumptions are wrong and not facts. Kawhi demanded a trade away from San Antonio to an LA team (Clippers or Lakers), guess what the Pop and the Spurs did? They benched him even after he returned from injury, did not budge despite the pressure from the Lakers and traded him cold Toronto. That is what teams that do not lick buutts do. They don't cater to the nonsense from modern NBA player. Secondly, why should the Clippers keep Griffin? Lob city was over, CP3 and DJ were gone and the team entered rebuilding mode. Were they supposed to keep a player like Griffin with that amount of salary? They needed cap space in the instance they need to chase Kawhi, Durant or any free agent. Even Griffin knew his trade was inevitable consequently that example is massively flawed because that team had run its course. Let me make it clear and I am assertive when I say, Danny Ainge is on the top 3 general managers of any list you come up with in the NBA and that is for a reason. Ask the Sixers and the Nets how he has fleeced them of great picks for trash. Ask Josh Jackson who missed the opportunity of being picked by the Celtics because he chose not to do a workout. He learned the hard way because no team keeps us hostage. Guess where Jackson ended? the Suns as we traded number 1 pick Fultz for Tatum whom everyone agrees is a superstar in the making. So stop this alarmist cry about Ainge and the Celtics because even among his peers, he is revered worth more critics. I want to write an epistle about the Sonics but I would not but let me tell you that Schultz's business ventures particularly Starbucks suffered after the Seatle investment failed. Do you know how much the Clippers are valued at today? make I no even enter that conversation. |

A40: What happened to DSJ? Doncic's arrival did not make things any better for him this season. I thought the Mavs would protect him but again you guys have Doncic. |

No D rose, no Doncic, , and KAT is in.....the NBA is officially a joke.. Fan votes don't matter. So, there's no use. Its sickening really. Middleton in and average Lowry too when everybody knows siakam is having a better season.....na wa ooo. |
Re: The NBA Begins by ipledge10(m): 5:22am On Feb 01, 2019 |
darkelf:So you think Doncic and D. Rose played better than KAT this season? |

Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 8:29am On Feb 01, 2019 |
darkelf:I'm really scratching my head at how Kyle Lowry and Middleton made the list. Maybe their team records influenced the votes but they were not even consistently the second players on their team. DeAngelo Russell should have been selected |

Hey guys..What y'all think about the potential alleged A.D trade to the Lakers?? Chuck has said any potential move to the Lakers should be blocked by Commissioner, Adam Silver..Do you think A.D made the request late (i.e he should have let the board know during Off-season) or he should have waited till Summer where at least maybe the Pelicans will have better options?? |
Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 3:16pm On Feb 01, 2019 |
aliondo:A.D is free to move anywhere he wants. Or I'll put it like this. The Pelicans are free to trade him to wherever they want if they can get something reasonable in return. It doesn't matter if it's the Lakers, Clippers, Celtics or the Warriors. |

Re: The NBA Begins by etidy: 8:55pm On Feb 01, 2019 |
Why not have a truce. Three team trade 1) Kyrie and hayward to Lakers 2) Davis and lonzo to Celtics 3) Kuzma, ingram, hart, and 2 first round pick to New Orleans Everyone goes home Happy The Celtics don't lose kyrie for nothing + they offload the Hayward contract The Celtics gets their franchise player Lonzo gets traded to a team where he's not back up point guard The Lakers gets their second superstar + Hayward may return to form down the line to add more star power The new Orleans also gets a fair deal |
Re: The NBA Begins by etidy: 8:58pm On Feb 01, 2019 |
etidy: The Celtics can also use the cap space to get another free agent. |
Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 9:56pm On Feb 01, 2019 |
etidy: lol. AD jus said boston would be renting him. he has no desire to sign long term. |
Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 9:59pm On Feb 01, 2019 |
aliondo: Chuck wasnt making any sense. There is nothing wrong in players wanting to play with whomever or wherever. which is what kenny smith and shaq kept telling the coconut head. its ok for warriors players to recruit KD, no? |
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 11:17pm On Feb 01, 2019 |
birdman: When are you guys going to stop with the rumors and sensationalism? Show me where he said he has no desire to sign long term for the Celtics or that Boston will be renting him? I mean a credible source, please. These were AD's comments hours ago, particularly the emboldened, follow the link and watch the video attached. "Davis, who turns 26 next month, rejected the idea that he has specifically requested a trade to the Los Angeles Lakers, saying neither he nor his representation gave the Pelicans a specific trade destination or a timetable in which to trade him. "I'm not sure where that's coming from. Maybe a connection with my representation," Davis said of agent Rich Paul, who also represents LeBron James. The trade deadline is Thursday, but Davis remains under contract through 2020. So the Pelicans could wait until the offseason to deal him -- especially because the Boston Celtics will be in a position to make them a stronger offer by then." donlittle25:Ever heard of hand of easu, voice of Jacob? Anthony Davis is saying all the right things in public while his dad is doing the dirty work. The timing of his dad's comment immediately after Davis interview is clearly his camp saying : forget what I told the media abt not having a preference of trade destination, I frigging do. What's the odds that Davis has spoken with kyrie and he told him that the organization feels creepy and that he's leaving in free agency? |
