Previously I was comfortable wt the idea of fostering. Not necessarily adoption due to the legal implications on my genetic children.
But having met this young toddler that timely intervention could potentially prevent a spiral down a world of drugs et al, heart strings were pulled.

I really wanted to adopt this baby girl  I rescued from a pit latrine while in college. I ended up in the maternity ward cz smbody had to play mother while they were searching for the real one. (lots of drama gosh).It was a police case and the mum finally showed up.After counselling she took over the same day so I never spent the night in the maternity ward!. She used to tell me she would give me the baby and she was the cutest lil thing i had ever set eyes on.We called her hope.
But she's no more. The mother never loved her fully and ended up poisoning her when she was 1 year old.
I still shed a tear at her memory and wish I had taken her.

difficult but shes with God. You know the mother used to make fun saying she's my baby not hers cz I rescued her. Everybody told me I should have taken the baby but it wasn't possible then cz of school,besides the mother was around and she had developed a 'fake love' that wasnt easy to notice.
I told her to wait till I get married and I would take the the baby.She didnt wait!

@doe-eyed and JUO abeg make una no break my head ooh. for naija i really no understand hw someone wey dey single wan adopt pikin. make u help me arrange the thinking coz the thing pass my power. u fit still give pikin better life even if u no adopt the pikin. the matter pass my power instead to break my head make una tear d gist down to my level. No use emotion levels abeg talk wetin get sense so i no go para for u.

My dear,y not if not.As long as u're generally fit to do it.N if 70 % of ur luvd ones supports it.Cos it's isn't easy to take care of a child alone,every child need to be shown dat luv n tym of parents\guardian with dat which comes from d environment.Make sure u always sing it to ur intended hussy's ear dat u av an adopted child dat must b luvd too. Just b sure of this,then u 're on point. Thks.

There is no way somebody who's single can adopt a child legally, Is just as crazy as a gay couple adopting a child.
